Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It features 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.

Great location very friendly staff.I have stayed in this hotel many times and will be returning in August
Room was pretty abysmal really, I guess it wasn't that expensive but still...1950's... in a bad way.
Staff were great, really friendly and professional. Top marks! The Hotel lobby, bar area and stairway are all great...until you enter the room.
A bit noisey for us
Excellent food and service in the restaurant
not a shower room. had difficulty climbing in and out of bath
Couldn't get served at the bar
Opposite the conference centre
Free WiFi could be better. Logging on every time was frustrating
All staff were superb, a special mention has to go to Bar Manager Elin, who took great care of us.
Felt that the over 21's only and smart dress code rules In 1812 had been relaxed a little..........The queue into Bar So was abit like the cast from "only way is Essex"
Upgraded to room with spa bath and four poster bed. ALL staff excellent, food great and nice to see long serving staff.
The Wi-fi was intermittent; you had to keep logging in during surfing.
We were warned when we arrived that as they has a bar and a nightclub, it might be a bit noisy. We were down for a get together with friends so this wouldn't be a problem. When we did finally go to bed, we couldn't hear any noise. Special thanks to Elin for looking after the 7 of us from the moment we walked into the bar to the moment we left. Nothing was too much trouble; he remembered our round straight away, booked tables for us for the live music and dinner and was an excellent ambassador for the hotel. We will be back!
The bar staff and breakfast staff were particularly helpfulcom
room, bed, atmosphere
hmm…. staff breakfast
It seems to be entirely aimed towards the busy bars/clubs inside the hotel. They are very noisy until 3.30am......which wouldn't be so bad if the windows in the hotel room weren't so old and rotting away! Double glazing anyone??
Very good location and service. Free parking.
Good location close to beach - particularly close to conference centre Lively bar Good breakfast
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the cocktails are amazing. Most beautiful room we had and I can't wait to go back.
The staff try there hardest to do what they can for your stay.
The only criticism we had were the squeaky floorboards but that's only something minor.
We went to see a show at the BIC so the hotel location was amazing. We loved the fact there was free parking and although we arrived 30 mins early, our room was available so could check in . For us, the fact there was a bar and club attached to hotel made it easy for us to decide where to go once the show had finished.
We were in room 305, right next to the boiler which when fired up continued to make a loud noise and at times excessive vibration. This was only noticed in the early hours, 3am and we found it very difficult to get back to sleep. On speaking to the receptionist on check-out there was no apology and her response was "well next time I would suggest booking a Superior Room", there will not be a next time, shocking customer services.
The bar area and breakfast were very good. The staff in these locations were very friendly, helpful and polite.
The hotel is a nice hotel but the people that work there and all the other guests in attendance thought they were a cut above the rest! Snobby and not very down to earth or welcoming. Very noisy untill the early hours to, plus uncomfy mattress!
Good restaurant and bar.
- Excellent meal at the restaurant - Lovely recommendation of local Italian restaurant 'La Strada' - Across the road from BIC
We were put in room 115 which was directly over the night club - where very loud live music was being played until the early hours of the morning. We were not aware of this when we booked, so I believe we should have been warned of the noise, and maybe we could have been moved to a quieter room instead of suffering,
The staff & room were excellent.
Spent a lovely night away with my beautiful wife. Only downside was that we couldn't stay longer!
i thought £100 was a bit much for a fairly basic room for the night.
Locale to BIC which was the main reason for the trip.
Faulty heating and very uncomfortable bed. Despite a dial on the radiator, it wouldn't turn off. We got no sleep as the room was too hot and a headache for 2 days after. Couldn't keep window open as very noisy outside. Bed extremely hard and I had back pain the following day. Wifi kept dropping out which was frustrating. The bed and heating ruined our stay, I wish we could come back in another quieter room with better beds as the staff were lovely
Staff very helpful and easy to talk to
The hotel was comfortable and the facilities were excellent. I would certainly stay again.
