Royal Garden Hotel2-24 Kensington High St, Kensington, W8 4PT London (Show map) Excellent, Score from 338 reviews“The location and its proximity to HARRODS”
Geoffrey,
Witney
A 10-minute walk from Royal Albert Hall, this 5-star Kensington hotel has spectacular London views, a 3 AA Rosette Chinese restaurant and a holistic spa. Central yet quiet, Royal Garden Hotel is a short walk from Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. High Street Kensington London Underground (subway) Station can be reached in a 10 minute walk. The hotel has 3 bars and 2 restaurants, including Min Jiang on the 10th floor with its spectacular views of Kensington Gardens. The friendly staff and a 24-hour business center add to a wonderful experience. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, and there is on-site private parking, although additional charges apply for both. Hotel Rooms: 396

I have stayed here time and time again in the Garden Room on weekends to London as Booking.com gives special weekend rate. I love everything about this hotel especially the location and the view of Hyde Park from the room. I don't like that internet is not free but at least the minimum charge is five pounds for two hours which is quite acceptable.

The room was perfect. Good location. The staff were excellent. Bed was comfortable. Would like to make coffee in my room. Needs crockery and cutlery to make a drink and have a light snack.

Localtion & staff attitude. Post 2pm. Given the keys but the room had not been serviced, we then had to wait one and a half hours to get it serviced. Incomplete service, robes and crockery ommitted. I had to demand refreshments as compensation for the period we waited. Upgraded but to a smoking suite.

Hotel has benefitted from a major update to the rooms which are clean and fresh. Service is good but old problems still persist. I have stayed at the Royal Garden many times. It is disappointing that despite its refit some problems remain such as the intense cold that comes through the windows overlooking the park. The noise of the lift being transferred through the air conditioning in rooms close to the lift lobby. The hotel has not moved with the times and still insists on charging for Internet access. The £20 per device per day fee is enough to ensure I will look for other hotels in the area for future trips. If the hotel can supply premium rate tv for free why on earth charge for WiFi. Guests paying £300 per night do not appreciate being told to go to McDonalds if they are unhappy at paying the hotel access charge.

The bath was fabulous - rarely is a bath deep and/or long enough to stretch out - very luxurious!! Location is great for both leisure and business purposes Room fronted Kensington High Street so quite noisy - would request room overlooking Hyde Park/Kensington Palace on future visit

Hospiatble staff. nice, relativley spacious room. neat bathroom. great audio system inside the bathroom allowing classical music puffs to enjoy a nice shower. Nothing I have called for ( toothpaste, iron, valet to take the bags down) took more than five minutes , they were FAST. I had to commute a bit extra than i am used to, since the hotel is near the circle/district line,so changing the line is necessary for almost any trip.

All the staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The first room we were placed in was a little dated and disappointing, compared to what we had expected. When I discussed this with a female member of staff (I think her name was Helen) she did everything possible to deal with our concern. Eventually she organised a change of room and we were relocated to room 312 which was very impressive and much more modern. This action made a big impression on me and my wife and made our stay a memorable one, as we were also celebrating new year's eve in London for the first time. The security staff were also brilliant as I left my suit behind in the wardrobe on departure. They organised postage back to my home address. Did not like the fact that car parking was chargeable and cost £30 for 24 hours parking. We were fortunate however that the car park companies were in the process of changing ownership and we did not have to pay on departure.

Location was excellent being very close to Harrods and with nice views of Kensington Gardens. Good food, clean and confortable rooms and friendly staff with the advantage of almost guarenteed parking although ncp carparks have just taken this over and it now cost £35 for 24 hrs.

It was very central for our daughter's wedding in Knightsbridge. Also, many of our family stayed at the Royal Garden hotel so we were all together.

“I have never stayed in a hotel that was as friendly as this. They bent over backwards to accommodate us from a hotel that we moved from. We had a very large amount of luggage to to accommodate this they gave the room next door free of charge to use for the 4 nights we were there for. Its a wonderful hotel that I would highly recommend, for couples, families and businessmen. ” Lauren, Falmouth |

“Great location and excellent value. Comfortable with nice touches, not the usual bland business hotel. 5 mins from Gloucester Road station. Variety of eating places close by. Nice, quiet area. Great breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, and nice pillows. Nothing was too much trouble, excellent customer service. Parkcity would be a great choice for business or pleasure. ” Alison, Liversedge |
