Amazing view of the Royal Harbour, superb breakfast, good location for visiting the town or the surroundings. The "cosy room" is too small for two people but for one o two nights is fine.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Good breakfast & service. Nice ambience in guest lounge with log fire in the evening and cheese & biscuits provided gratis. Our "superior" room was small and poorly lit. The curtains would not close properly.Mains electrical socket only partially secured to wall - another guest complained of this. Bedside lamps wobbly at the socket switch. Small handbasin, modified to prevent plug from sealing thus impossible to obtain a sink full of water at the required temperature to wash ones face. Unable also to fill kettle at the hand basin. There was no mirror provided at the dressing table. The TV was antiquated and limited to 4 channels only. There were no guest toilets available in the common rooms. Our relatives were diappointed with their family room, with no space to hang their clothes, and a blocked toilet. Parking was limited to 4 spaces (just) and cost a £5 per night supplement. At the £125 rate for B & B we were expecting a reasonable quality proper hotel with full facilities and not a poorly maintained guesthouse.

Wonderful staff, lovely rooms, delicious breakfast, cosy atmosphere, great views, close to beach and town center - it was my second stay at the Royal Harbour Hotel and I wouldn't choose any other place to stay in Ramsgate. It just feels like home!

I was surprised by the buildings interior and marvelled over the nostalgic layout of the living/dinning rooms. The sleeping area was compact but due to the height of the room did not feel cramped or small. We had a very good nights sleep and were not disturbed by any traffic. The sea view was gorgeous, especially in the morning when the sun rose. Breakfast was excellent and the selection available was superb. All in all, lovely staff, lovely hotel - would love to stay there again! The sump in the bathroom (I think that's what its called) was very noise.

The decor of the hotel in the common area. The bed and bed linen was comfortable. Great views. The gentleman on reception was charming and very welcoming. The bathroom was a little small, and the shower not up to the standard that I would have hoped.

The hotel is in a great location and we had a room with fantastic views over the harbour. It is nice to stay in a hotel that is "boutique" rather than a faceless chain. It felt family run and all the better for it. I would recommend to anyone visiting Ramsgate.

We found the receptionist at the time to be fairly welcoming. The full english breakfast is very tasty, and the natural honey complete with comb delicious!! We were given a room facing the harbour on the first floor. The room was very small with the bed more or less dominating the tiny space, despite the smallness of the room, it seemed impossible to achieve that cosy feeling. We did turn up the radiator, but it seemed to remain luke warm. We had floor to ceiling window/doors onto a small balcony, where we were told we could smoke if we wanted, being non-smokers we declined, but it was clear from the aroma that others hadn'T. Important to note that pets are allowed here.....we were kept awake by a dog whining in the room next door whilst we tried to sleep.

Oodles of old fashioned charm and comfort, the smell of log fires, books and nick- nacks everywhere, hotwater bottles available, cheese and biscuits left out, creaky floorboards, harbour view, and a fabulous breakfast to suit anybodys taste. We had a lovely three days here, and found plenty of places for eating, again to suit all tastes.

Excellent breakfast and we felt so comfortable like being at home. The sitting room with the open fire was so welcoming and relaxing. We was there over Christmas. It was very nice and the staff was very friendly. There was only one point that was not nice. We had our room on the top floor and the shower stop working in the middle of my shower, because the water pressure was gone when some body in the next room had a shower too. And they allow to smoke in the first floor at balcony, but you can smell the smoke in hallway not nice.

Brilliant Hotel, perfect for a romantic weekend. You must get a sea view room and be preparred to walk, hotel is on cliff top and has no lifts. You can park right outside the hotel if your lucky otherwise there is puplic parking near by. Breakfeast and staff are excellant. Town centre and lots of resturants are within half a mile down hill. Depends on your expectations, this is an old Edwardian building and some travelers may not like it.

What a lovely hotel. We picked one of the cabin rooms - tiny but with a sea view. We knew in advance it would be small but for a weekend it was lovely - views of the harbour and the sky - a lovely location. If one had the money, I did stick my head into one of the enormous first floor rooms which were fabulous. Sitting area, views, balcony, etc. The building is charming - two townhouses - filled with art, tastefuly furnished, roaring fire and board games in the sitting room; excellent breakfast. These people deserve to do really well. A lovely independent hotel.

Great location, very reasonable considering the imagination and care that has gone into both the building and the interior design. Very friendly and efficient service and a thoroughly pleasant place to stay. Oh, and the breakfast was a cut above hotels that are twice the price. It can feel like an extended Band b as this period building is a great place to explore but soundproofing is a bit of a challenge and I recommend staying on the lowest floor if mobility is an issue.

Step back in time and enjoy the views, the roaring fires, the Victorian fixtures and fittings, the lovely antique furniture and the finest hospitality on the Kent coast! The breakfast was superb! The views were amazing! The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and simply can't do enough for you. I can't wait to return, this time for a romantic weekend in winter, with my husband! Gail x Room Tip: Go for the sea view rooms, it's well worth it. Even the single cabin rooms, although small, are beautifully decked out and has everything you need. Gx

Very stylish - the architecture, decorations, antiques, works of art plus very helpful, accommodating staff. The two sitting rooms and breakfast room were special . The bed in the cabin room we stayed in was very poor - too soft and worn out. Otherwise absolutely no complaints.

The Royal Harbour Hotel was a stunning period property, The interior was perfect, We loved the view from our window overlooking the harbour and lying in bed you could see the Trans European Ferries come in to dock. The hotel was in the middle of lots of places to eat and visit. Parking was not guarnteed and you might have had to park some way from the Hotel.

“A warm welcome at a very well refurbished hotel, spotlessly clean room and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast service and a great atmosphere in the adjoining pub/restaurant. Nice to see an old seaside hotel being so well cared for and particularly liked not having to search for somewhere to park the car. Thoroughly enjoyed our short break and will certainly stay here again when we are back in the area.” Stephen, Epsom |
