In the only Royal Harbour in the country, The Oak Hotel offers marina and harbour views, in the seaside resort of Ramsgate. The town offers tranquil sunsets and lively nightlife at weekends.
Score from 133 reviews Very good
The atmosphere around the hotel and devour was faultless. Sitting by the fire with the candles lit in the evening was just perfect. 10 out of 10, we will definitely be back.
Great place. Fantastic staff, lovely setting great attention to detail.
Toilet needed a bit of attention and shower fluctuated between hot and cold
Everything. Best place I have been in for about 15 years.
Lack of parking can prove problematic from time to time
The food, the staff, the location, the 'honesty bar' with burning fireplace. The room with fantastic harbour view.
Wifi connection could have been a bit faster - also if you are in need of iron & ironing board, be sure to ask staff in advance - appears that there is limited amount of these ;)
Lovely fires and candles so warm and cosy with lots of character. Restaurant lovely and food excellent. Great location. Breakfast was good (although no wholemeal bread out, just white or dark rye).
I asked for extra potatoes as there were hardly any with my main at restaurant and they charged me £3, bit much when it cost £15 to start with. I did offer to pay but didn't think they would actually charge! Room/bathroom very small and bed very squeaky - no hanky panky in that room but it is a single room haha! None of this would put me off staying again though.
Polite and friendly staff. Quaint and unusual decor. Lounge areas full of comfy sofas and armchairs, 2 real log fires, games and lovely antiques. Breakfast was wonderful - could be a 5 star hotel. I had melt in the mouth kippers but the choice was extensive. We will definitely go back and I would recommend taking a room on the front with beautiful views over the harbour.
friendly helpful staff. well maintained hotel. lovely lounges. great breakfasts
only staying one night!
So good, everything about this hotel was fantastic. Don't think just book it.!! Food was some of the finest I've ever eaten and the breakfast, coupled with the view was just mind blowing. Loved it..!
If I was being picky then there was a couple of very minor issues but I didn't care.
The bed was amazing, I was quite excited to get to bed it was so fluffy and comfortable
Don't judge a book by its cover, I was a bit worried when we pulled up outside, it really didn't go the hotel justic. It looked a bit grotty from the outside.
Excellent location, fabulous views over the harbour, great breakfast, helpful friendly staff. Books to read in the room, modern bathroom and shower.
Room quite small but adequate. Noisy Saniflow unit in bathroom (needed fixing!)
Loved the quirky bygone rooms, open fires, honesty bar, balcony, great cooked breakfast with ample choices and of course brilliant views overlooking the harbour. Yes we did have the 'smallest bathroom in the world' yet it was spotlessly clean and great shower.
Very welcoming, extremely cosy and homely. I love the living room with the vinyl out for you to play if you wish. Room was comfortable with excellent facilites and a delicious cooked breakfast.
No bath and over looking roof tops
Breakfast is fantastic. Hotel has a character. Wi-fi in room is excellent like at home.
You have to hot run water tap for 5 minutes as no hot water comes from the tap immediately. The stairs to the top floor are steep. The window is very old fashioned and not double glazed and the wind blows through the room. The radiator is small and can`t heat up the room when the weather is outside cold and windy.
Had room 17 (Double) which was very, very small, no chair as shown in pics on website, no wardrobe and curtains were just about impossible to close. Bathroom had downlight hanging from ceiling immediately over shower.Generally a real pokey room not fit for use.Parking a nightmare !
Character friendliness and location.
Lady's prefare a bath to a shower. Although the showers were efficient.
Lovely Staff, comfy bed, beautiful lounge areas and pleasant location. Oh and complimentary cheese and biscuits and a record player, plus an amazing cooked breakfast.
Room was very small, bathroom even smaller. Food wasn't fantastic, and very costly. There was a snail trail on the carpet in the dining room!
Beautiful view of the harbour. Very clean, good breakfast.
The room was tiny, although it was stated as being compact, so we got what we paid for.
Fantastic location, attentive staff, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast.
good view And nice breakfast
bed sound insulation
Lovely location.great view.recommend breakfast ,VG choice.coal fire in lounge.bed very comfortable.
Our room was too small for a four poster bed.no chair.the bathroom was far to small we could hear next door talking and television loud from 7am.not funny !!
This is a charming place to stay, staff are friendly and helpful. My room was warm and cosy, bed super comfy and a nespresso machine, all good.
I didn't manage to connect with the internet in my room, but I wasn't concerned about, it wasn't important.
Being able to make your own coffee in a cafetiere was perfect; complemented the best breakfast I've had in a hotel or a B&B.
