The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Loads of places to eat all within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room although quite small was warm and comfortable.
The only downside was the room size but it was overcome and as we were out for most of the day did not have much effect.
A comfortable and characterful hotel with welcoming staff and all the necessary etceteras. The value for money was exceptional, and we loved the harbour and town view from our cabin room.
Excellent breakfast and very comfortable bed.
bed view location staff breakfast quirkiness
On arriving at the hotel mid afternoon we were able to park just across the road. We were welcomed by polite and helpful staff who gave us a tour of the lounge, snug and dining room before escorting us to our room. Our room was not huge, but was comfortable and had amazing views over the harbour. After an evening in a very plesent restaurant in town we returned to the hotel, listened to some tunes on the vinyl record player in the lounge and retired to bed. The bed was very comfortable and after a refreshing night's sleep we had an amazing breakfast sitting overlooking the view. The hotel has a great style and I loved the bookcases in boats, photos, maps and artwork.
Our shower was on the dated side and somewhat on the cramped side for my partner who is 6 ft 3.
Great hotel with excellent staff. Very cosy you will not want to leave. Open fires, record player and fantastic reading material.
perfect location at the waterfront / marina of Ramsgate. Pleasant staff and lovely furnished and equipped rooms, incl. TV and reading room. My room was pretty small but so lovely.
in case you are travelling with 2 persons and want to spend more than a night the room can actually be a bit to tiny. You have barely room for your luggage and only one of you can stand in the room while the otherone has to be on the bed.
Dining room too small for saturday sunday breakfast but food still excellant
Sea view was brilliant, room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast offered a fairly wide choice, including full English. Comfortable sitting rooms available to guests. Eclectic mixture of paintings spread throughout the property was very pleasing.
Empire restaurant portions were miniscule and overpriced. Restaurant added nearly £30 of items to our bill which we hadn't had. Refund was made when we went back to complain.
Comfortable Bed Friendly staff Good breakfast
Room too small.
They thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Thought the room very comfortable with a wonderful view. Also breakfast was amazing.
They liked everything.
The room, the views, the proximity to harbour and restaurants, friendly staff, open fire in the lounge, very dog-friendly
Steep staircase to top floors
Difficulty of finding parking space
Great sea view. Good breakfast (but get there early because there are insufficient tables even for the small number of guests in November, and later arrivals were queueing when we finished!)
It's absurd to put a four-poster bed in what is at best just a single room. Side-on to the wall, so that you can only get into it from one side and there's barely room to walk past it to the window. The bathroom is equally bizarre in its minuteness. There's quirky, and then there's just plain wrong. The bed creaked loudly at the slightest movement, making sleep largely impossible. Broken tap and TV, and staff who were polite and friendly but ultimately no great help.
Excellent location, comfy and relaxed atmosphere throughout hotel, bed and linen was really cozy however little squeaky.
Vent in bathroom really loud.
General Atmosphere and Welcoming staff. Restaurant excellent.
Bedroom could have been bigger but the website did give sufficient hints.
Even though we booked the cabin room (29) we were very happy. The room has a lovely sea view, the bed was amazing, lovely soft pillows. En-suite was just what we needed. Great location for the harbour/town. The breakfast was great too, enough to help yourself too, then a cooked option too.
The only thing I guess someone might not like about the room we stayed in (29) was the fact it's on the top floor, so lots of stairs to climb, but we didn't mind at all. The other downside is lack of parking nearby, I had to drive around a bit looking for a space. Got one eventually.
Everything done to a good standard with an individual approach that is a refreshing change from the usual cloned offering.
What.a find the Royal Harbour was. Excellent location only minutes walk from town, pubs restaurants and cafés. Hotel staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Very clean room with very well stocked tray of complimentary teas, coffees etc. fab breakfast selection and complimentary cheese board after 10pm, great touch. Would definitely recommend the Harbour Hotel, well done.
the check out, insisting we had underpaid. We checked our bank statement and the cost we had been asked and had paid on line was £80.00,but he insisted we underpaid by £5.00 and made us pay it,even though the amount on line asked and took £80.00.We understand that the amount you should pay is that on the day of booking, and not be asked for extra on checkout.Shame because until that happened we loved our stay.
Room, breakfast, public rooms, restaurant, Parking, David, General ambiance
Serving staff disappeared for periods during dinner, (but polite and attentive when there) May have been helping in kitchen???
Everything was great. My teenage children had a wonderful time. We loved the breakfasts and our supper. The artwork and books were an added bonus. >Thankyou
Loved the atmosphere, all the rooms and communal areas. It was just such a lovely hotel. Breakfast was the best everrrr!
Beautiful lounge with fire, old fashioned record player and lovely works of art on the walls. Cheese and biscuits served after 10 pm Very attentive staff Good selection at breakfast served hot Easy stroll down hill to Harbour
Limited choice of drinks to go with coffee after our meal in the Empire Room
Gorgeous decor, lovely wallpaper and paintings everywhere. Log fire place and board games. Honesty bar for a night cap before bed. Delicious and huge quantities of breakfast.
As long as you are aware of the stairs, there are no other issues.
