I cannot fault the location, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. Excellent. The london eye is right at your door step! However for the 600 pounds I paid for a romantic weekened away which did not include breakfast I expected a room bigger than the size of a postage stamp! I was devastated!! We could hardly fit two siutcases in the room. We had to edge past one another to get to the bathroom which had zero space to put anything in there. I am well aware of the size constraints of the hotels in London compared to most hotels around the world but for this amount of money . don't bother!! I had stayed at the Walford Hilton 2 weeks prior and my room was twice the size and close to half the price and was 5 min away from Covent garden. Unlesss you have money to burn or won the lotto and can afford a suite, look else where!! I paid extra to have a room with a view of the river thames. The room did have a view.........of trees. Could barkey see through them to see the river and we were not allowed to open the balcony doors. Once again ...not impressed for what we paid. There are plenty of other hotels which are cheaper and offer alot more.

Fabulous door staff and reception staff, all very smart and polite. The hotel itself is nicely decorated throughout. The picture in our room was a little austere- room 501. Did not like the fact that the maid entered our room at 8.20am, surely they must know which rooms are occuppied and, if you are only there for one night, surely they could wait for confirmation that you have checked out!!!! Luckily she rang the bell and I just managed to get to the door as she opened it!!!!! This averted what could have been a very embaressing and awkward situation!!!!!

The location The hotel stuff were not trained very well, they entered our room several times without any notice. We ordered some some food in the room and it wasn't delicious and was cold.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor was very tasteful. The view from our room was fantastic. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient for seeing major tourist sights. The bed was very comfortable. Room service was delicious. The lighting system was annoying in that I couldn't figure out how to shut off all the lights but the one by my bed so I could read at night. Also, couldn't figure out how to get volume on tv in the bathroom. Maybe it wasn't possible. During one night there was construction on the road closest to the Thames which was really noisy, jackhammers and such, But that wasn't the hotel's fault.

It's a wonderful 5 star hotel with a boutique hotel feel. The best thing is the building itself and its location. We asked if there were any river view rooms, and we were lucky enough to be given one, on the 8th floor facing the London Eye. That's even though we paid the booking.com special £150 offer for a double that lists for more than twice that price on their rack rate. I wish we could have opened the window all the way, but it was partially closed for security purposes. That was the only quibble (and a small one at that). Great first experience at the Royal Horseguards which we hope to repeat next time. Wish the window looking out over the river could be opened fully.

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. the hotel was extremely luxurious. we returned one afternoon from sightseeing and a Harpist was playing in the hotel. There was a real fire at the entrance which created a very cosy ambience.

The service provided by the staff was excellent, they were very helpful, professional and nice. Room was clean and some magazines and evening newspaper were provided. Overall it's a very comfortable hotel with fair price. The lift lobby is too small.

Our 45th wedding anniversary. I asked on the booking form of the possibility of a river view for our special occasion. Not only did we have a superb 7th floor room with a view, the hotel managment left a very nice dish of petit fors as a welcome gift. I thanked the Operations Manager Bechir Messaoud for his kind consideration which really made the trip for us. We would certainly stay again
