The Royal Horseguards2 Whitehall Court, SW1A 2EJ London (Show map) Wonderful, Score from 482 reviews“Their service staffs are excellent. They make me feel welcome at home. Especially when I am checking out, it was raining out. They willingly lent me their umbrellas as I feel bad for taking it without returning. Bravo for their excellent service. I will definitely stay in this hotel when I back in London again.”

I cannot fault the location, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. Excellent. The london eye is right at your door step! However for the 600 pounds I paid for a romantic weekened away which did not include breakfast I expected a room bigger than the size of a postage stamp! I was devastated!! We could hardly fit two siutcases in the room. We had to edge past one another to get to the bathroom which had zero space to put anything in there. I am well aware of the size constraints of the hotels in London compared to most hotels around the world but for this amount of money . don't bother!! I had stayed at the Walford Hilton 2 weeks prior and my room was twice the size and close to half the price and was 5 min away from Covent garden. Unlesss you have money to burn or won the lotto and can afford a suite, look else where!! I paid extra to have a room with a view of the river thames. The room did have a view.........of trees. Could barkey see through them to see the river and we were not allowed to open the balcony doors. Once again ...not impressed for what we paid. There are plenty of other hotels which are cheaper and offer alot more.

The staff, location and decor in both the hotel and especially the rooms are splendid. Check in was a pleasure, helpful and thoughtful staff. Location near the sights and Whitehall is excellent. I really enjoyed it. I stay in too many hotelsmin lots of places but this was the first time i had an opportunity to watch T.V in the bath. It is perhaps not for budget travellers.

It was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The design and decoration and touches, such as tv in bathroom were superb. It was in a beautifully historical building and as soon as we walked in we knew we were somewhere special. The staff were attentive and polite without being overbearing. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic, wonderful bath and shower. Location, superb, bang in the centre of all you would hope to see and visit in London, yet we had a wonderfully peaceful night. For us it was a real treat and our only regret is we are not well off enough to book 2 nights, we would really like to sample the restaurant food and wine. Will definately save to stay in this wonderful hotel again. Magical weekend, thank you.

the room was of the utmost comfort. Everything was top quality and spotlessly clean and luxurious. lights went out without explanation whilst we were preparing to go out, but the engineer came within 10 mins and fixed the problem with a new switch, so we were not really inconvenienced for more than a few mins.

Double bed quite small. Bathroom small and shower difficult to operate. Breakfast whether full or continental is dreadfully expensive. Makes no sense.

Excellent and quiet location in Whitehall and very central. Staff very courteous. Decor was nice. I was on the ninth floor where there was no heating. The room and whole floor was freezing. The ac unit in the room was noisy. The breakfast is a fairly sparse offering for £20 and overpiriced. The public rooms do not provide greap privacy.

Staff and service is excellent, location was perfect. A beautiful hotel Minor complaints really, bed too small, and £6 for a small pale ale frankly is ridiculous.

I loved this hotel! The interior and exterior of the home were beautiful. We opted to upgrade at a view room for £30. we had an amazing view of the Thames River and the London Eye. The shower was amazing with a tv, multiple jets and a rain head. Great hotel would recommend to friends and family. Especially great luxury for my husband and I after 2 weeks of a new hotel every night in a different country. If we choose to not upgrade we would have had a room without a view and windows painted shut. Still would have been the same luxury but I could see how this could be very disappointing since you are not warned of this when booking. The other issue we had was our shower leaked and soaked everything in the bathroom.

The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The location couldn't have been better- easy access to the tube and walking distance to all of Central London. When I was in the room, I enjoyed the amenities which added comfort to my stay and met my technological needs.

Location, good rate, design of the room (although the room was small), comfort of the bed and bathroom, free Wi-Fi Size of the room (too small for a 5* hotel), no view in any of the standard rooms (instead you get to see an ugly backyard with fans)

Very quiet and extremely comfortable. Rarely have I had such a good night's sleep in a hotel anywhere, let alone in central london. Fantastic cream tea. Wonderful location - walked everywhere. Felt indulged and rested. We will return. Room didn't have view, but we didn't mind. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful, although I found one receptionist a little more patronising.

The location is perfect for those of us that want to shop, sightsee, visit the theatre, listen to some jazz or just generally wander around to see how the other half live! The hotel is literally a one minute walk from the Embankment tube station so the Northern line, District and Circle lines and the Metropolitan line are on hand to whisk you off to Sloane Square, South Kensington, Earls Court, Picadilly Circus, Oxford Circus, Leicester Square, Tottenham Court Road just to name a few - all without having to change! Just a few minutes walk and you can visit the South Bank, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Soho, Covent Garden, gawp at No. 10 from the end of Downing Street, you name it. What about the hotel itself? We booked a standard room but upgraded on arrival to a larger room overlooking the Thames and the Eye. It was extremely comfortable and certainly worth the money we paid for it at mid January rates. Possibly five star prices later in the year. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and efficient throughout our four night stay. All requests to the reception, the concierge and housekeeping were met promptly and accurately. As an example, there was an issue with the "rain shower" head over the bath - didn't seem to spray evenly. I mentioned this at reception on our way out in the morning and when we got back in the late afternoon it had been replaced by a new one. Cannot comment on the hotel restaurant as we ate out every evening and preferred to sip our coffee and munch our croissants for a fiver per head rather than £22.00 a head for breakfast in the hotel. Practical for the "suits", but not necessary for the average tourist! A perfect stay. Had a great time. Liked it all!
