This landmark hotel takes centre stage in an area of London renowned for its glorious pageantry. Located in a quiet area of Whitehall, on the banks of the River Thames, opposite the famous London Eye. We are a short walk to the Westminster area, or a leisurely stroll to Theatreland and Covent Garden. The City is easily accessible by taxi or underground, being just 10 minutes away.
The Royal Horseguards encapsulates the very best of British hospitality and elegance with the highest levels of service. In an age of rapid change, The
Royal Horseguards holds true values and traditions that have stood the test of time.

Please note the hotel is currently undergoing renovation due to be completed by the end of the year. The work does, of course, take our guests into consideration:
• Works carried out Monday to Friday only
• Daily hours are 9am – 5pm
• Lifts will not stop on the floors where works are being carried out

For almost 80 years, The Royal Horseguards has had Scotland Yard as its neighbours.
Their famous telephone number, Whitehall 1212, which gives our One Twenty One Two Restaurant its name. is proud to boast its accolade of a coveted AA Rosette Award for culinary excellence. With its inviting piano bar, innovative menus, fine wines and exemplary service, it represents the very best in contemporary dining.

The Terrace

The delightful outdoor Terrace provides a secluded haven in which guests can enjoy alfresco dining, or simply a quiet drink, away from the hustle and bustle of London life. The hotel’s impressive exterior provides a stunning backdrop – perfect for watching the sun set over the London skyline.
The Terrace is available for hire all year round, weather permitting, for small groups from as few as 10 people. A perfect spot for a summer barbecue, the Terrace can also be sectioned off as required, making it a most flexible outdoor venue.

Guide Dogs welcome by prior arrangement.

Any bookings of 10 rooms or more will be subject to client receiving a group contract directly from the hotel

The location was excellent, staff were friendly and the room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. We would definately stay here again.

We were unable to check into our room at 2pm as was stated because it was still not ready for us.

The staff are fantastic, really lovely and polite and will make you feel really welcome.

I booked a double deluxe room and it was awful. Really dingy and dark and the bed was sunk. I asked for an upgrade and was not available. I asked for an alternative room as I was a repeat guest and I paid an extra £50 to swap rooms. The room had a fabulous view of the london eye and was clean. I was not pleased at all with it and it certainly was not worth £300.

Always a good stay and pretty close to the gov't business area. Also, good for families, except the breakfast is pricy, but the train station a block away has cheap eats for breakfast.

Booked double, given twin, moved. New room had faulty fire exit sign buzzing. Asked for it to be fixed or to be moved at 6pm finally moved after midnight after many calls to reception. It was not due to the ongoing building work that we had problems, more to do with staff attitude.

Location was great.

Renovations were suppose to start at 9, but started earlier-we had sick children who we wanted to sleep later, but pounding began earlier than expected. First room we got-had water dripping from the light in the shower-we were switched. Our power went out one time in one of our rooms, and we had to use the toilet in the dark-it was fixed later (but much later). Overall not a 3 or 4 star hotel.

This is a great location if you want to take the Tube from the airport. You can walk across the street from the station. It is also a great location to see some of the major sites in London - they are all within walking distance. The room was inexpensive compared to other hotels, but it has been newly remodeled and is very luxurious.
