Score from 20 reviews Wonderful
Breakfast was promptly served and very tasty, plenty of parking and a nice view across the town
Room was very cold as central heating radiators not fully operational and the shower was so mouldy that I didn't use it, there was mould all over the bathroom ceiling and dirty marks over all the walls. There were lots of dust filled cobwebs and I wouldn't walk on the carpet in bare feet. I wouldn't stay again.
Paul phoned and organised entry as my husband wasn't arriving till 2am, very helpful and friendly, great little overnight stop
My friend and I were travelling early in the morning for ferry so Paul very kindly left us a continental breakfast on our room, it was very much appreciated at 5am, room are comfortable and even have sky, great little hotel, will definitely stay again
Nothing to complain about at all, this is a good place to stay overnight enroute to ferry
I enjoyed the whole weekend, and can't imagine it being any better any where else. The breakfasts were well worth getting up for. The hotel was clean and everyone we met there were pleasant and helped with anything we asked.
Visiting so late in the year.
This room was a lovely size. A little bit spent on painting cleaning carpet and fixing bathroom fittings and it would be lovely. My sister had a room downstairs which was beautiful. despite a wedding going on in hotel it was very peaceful. Dining room and breakfast were very nice . We would definately stay again in a different room not the one we had in attic unless it had ben sone. Bed was clean and comfy.
Our room was very poor . Decor tatty. Shower dirty and door didn t fit.toilet loose from floor. Towels awful. Carpet needed a clean.
Very good hotel !!! Great bar very friendly staff !!! Good location
Location was good as I was doing some work at a whisky site near by. The bedroom was basic but comforatble and I had a good nights sleep. The cooked breakfast in the morning was good and set me up for the day (sausage / bacon / fried egg / beans / half oatie pancake and toast).
The bar man in the evening when I arrived never broke a smile all evening and didn't seem very friendly. The flat screen TV had a SKY HD box, but couldn't access any SKY content, just normal freeview channels and no SKY channel guide.
Good location Good food and friendly. Nice room
Nothing to dislike.
comfortable old world charm and a hearty breakfast.
Paul, the owner/manager - very friendly and flexible
right in town without being on the Main Street, staff was helpful.
no appeal, some noise at night from doors slamming, was not told which door to take for breakfast (a few of us were confused by this as it was different from other entrance doors), having to carry our luggage up stairs.
Good little hotel, clean, good shower and good food, what more do you need
An all round good place to stay
No car park
It was close to all amenities that you need, and the staff were very friendly.
Because we booked late there was only one room left which was a twin with shared shower room and toilet, would've liked en-suite.
Room clean and modern. Not far from the sea.
I don't know if they were having an off day but we had a poor experience regarding food. Told there would be some so we waited until the appropriate time and then there wasn't any due to a family (possibly their family or friends) party going on. The lady had seemingly cooked for the party but wouldn't provide food for guests that night. Apart from us having to go out again in the rain, the worrying thing was they didn't seem to be bothered!
All of it
We paid at breakfast, then a few hours later received email and "urgent" phone msg to contact the hotel as they said we hadn't paid. Check your books people!!
Central location Clean room Pleasant staff Good facilities in the room Great value for money
No issues whatsoever
Noise from fan which came on every time the loo lihjt was switched on and then stayed on for a while.
A basic hotel which is not fussy and does what it says on the tin. Good breakfast (one of the tastiest on our trip around the UK) and good value for money.
Downstairs bar frequented by locals (all men) so may be a tad intimidating for ladies although not a problem for us.
Convenience of location for folk weekend.endless amount of tea bags.excellent sound proofing.
The wardrobe had doors that wouldnt open very easily and no coat hangers.
Stayed here on a long weekend as visiting family on a 25th wedding anniversary. We booked 3 rooms, all spacious and clean. It had what we needed as we weren't spending much time there apart from sleeping. The rooms do have Flat Screen Tv and hot drinks making facilities. And the shower is nice and powerful. Breakfast was free and you got a cooked breakfast, this consisted of Fried Egg, a sausage, a bacon, beans and potato cake. And comes with toast on the side. Lovely enough breakfast to start your day. There is also free wifi in the hotel. And ample parking space. Please note if you are disabled, ask for a lower floor. Overall, we had a good stay. I'm sure we will be back here when there's another family gathering.
