The staff were very good.

The Hotel is tired, needs some daily maintenance and a major refurbishment.

A lovely relaxing break. Fantastic food and good choice of wine. Staff friendly and helpful. We will most definately stay again.

Location was key for us. Shower was powerful and room and bathroom was spacious. Also separate entrance so you didn't have to trail through pub every time, also decent green space to exercise dogs before bed and in morning. Evening meal was good.

The room was cold, heating didn't go on until 6.30 and tile floor in bathroom was freezing. Noise from pub downstairs and room next door was quite clear through walls/floor. Didn't like being called madam after every sentence.

Location is excellent.

The Double bed was two single beds bolted together and uniquely in our experience was furnished with two single bed duvets. Totally unsuitable for an active romance. Room was expensive for its small size. Food was poor in choice, no more than pub-grub.

Nice clean warm room as it was very cold the night we stayed,food was good and nice real fires in the bar.

Not many deferent beers on offer and the food menu was a little small in winter.

The hotel was very friendly and very clean. The breakfast was good. The rooms were a nice size and a spacious bathroom. A lovely stay and would and will stay again. Very recommended

The hotel tended to shut the bar etc, if no one was in the bar, however would have been nice to come back to drinks and coffees at times. Think the hotel needs to push theirselves more in this area and feel they could build a great atmosphere in the bar area

The staff we very friendly, especially the young girl - who seemed to be working the whole time we were there, the food was great (the lamb shanks were amazing). It was a lovely warm atmoshphere - one of the nicest places we have stayed in the lakes district!

we couldn't get very good wi-fi in our room, it was fine in other areas, but everything else was so great that it didn't really matter.

I picked this hotel because it had good reviews. The staff when we checked in was pleasant on the Saturday but later that night when we had dinner the staff's manner got worse. The food was poor and the room I booked was for a deluxe double. I dread to think what the standard room was like as I wouldn't call it deluxe! It was twin beds pushed together! The next morning we were expected to sit with other guests for our breakfast as the staff hadn't cleared any tables. The staff then decided to clear a table for us but she was rude. We received a disgusting breakfast that looked like it had been cooked the night before, with no toast offered. We did notice that other guests received toast. When checking out the staff barely spoke to us - never asked if we had a nice stay. They made us feel like we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Very disappointed as this was my birthday treat. I will not be staying here again!

Beds incredibly comfortable. Amazing shower. Accommodating staff solved heating problems quickly.

Room was above the pub - noisy till 10ish, it didn't bother us but don't stay here if you want an early quiet night! The food frankly was pretty terrible. We both ordered the burger which was a huge, dense, greasy affair - clearly pre-packed and possibly microwaved or deep fried. To be fair the other items on the menu might be better, we didn't try anything else... but if they can't get a burger and chips right it doesn't bode well for the rest of the menu.
