The old lift, it was a classic, manager assisted us with our laundry needs, good food, very friendly staff, nice room.

hair dryer nailed into a drawer which was not anywhere near a mirror!

The staff were friendlyand tied tobe helpful.plenty nice eateries in area and close to many attractions and places of interest

The lack of general maintenance in this hotel is bad.room 36 is a death trap any electrician would tell u so as is room 33 I know this as I was shuttled between them while they sorted the tv out in room 36.why put people in a room when you know that all its utilities are not functioning properly.sub standard rooms and the breakfast absolute rubbish a disgrace to say the least. The only thing missing was basil fawlty and manuel.

the room was very comfortable and cosy . dinner was great as was breakfast .

the sockets in the room need fixed coming out the wall . shower drainage needs fixed filled up quite high before draining room wasnt ready when we arrived to check in

Location was good, hotel clean but decor tired. There was a wedding whilst we stayed but despite being directly above the ball room there was little noise.

No room available despite confirmation and tried to put us in different, poor quality, hotel. After complaining found us room in booked hotel. Appears to be a popular wedding venue and hotel was very busy with wedding guests but staff recognised this and allowed us to use a side door. One criticism, and something we had never seen before, was other guests comming down for breakfast in pyjamas and slippers. If you want a quiet stay check to see if there is a wedding booked at the same time as you.

My son loved the lift in the hotel which was in keeping with building We were given a nice corner family room with plenty of space and a good sized bathroom Was in the middle of Bridge of Allen with a good mix of Independant shops and little restaurants Had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant . The food was well cooked and presented and was fairly traditional fare which was a change for us . The hotel had signs of being decorated whilst we were there and particulary the bar had a nice fresh feel to it . This hotel suited us as it broke our journey as we were traveling further North and certainly was a nice change from the more modern and plastic hotels on the edges of Stirling Finally good parking facilities

Nothing to complain about for one night - only tiny criticism was wine choice but we did find a substitute

Although booking the hotel deliberately for a wedding, we were sent 200 yards up the road to what appeared to be an annex which was most definately not of the same standard as the main hotel, yet the same price (overpriced). Off the initial 3 nights booked we stayed 1 and left. There are much nicer hotels in the village at cheaper rates.

Warm welcome, friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble and hotel is dog friendly and very comfortable. The food was excellent too and again good value :-)

The decor a wee bit tired

Location was ideal for us as visiting an elderly relative who lives 5 or 6 houses away. Staff helpful. Breakfast was good.

VERY noisy at night, as people returned late to their rooms after a wedding in the hotel. Dinner menu very uninspired and food pretty basic.

Staff were really all friendly and happy. We dined in the restaurant which was a delight. Service was excellent.

My husband and have stayed here a few times but was rather disappointed on this occasion . Bedroom was over the front and road traffic was very noisy, bed was very hard.Sink in bathroom not draining.Tv no signal for 2 days we were there,and no hairdryer working so overall utterly disappointed.

The manager dealt with our issues in a very fair manner. The breakfast was lovely and good variety of options.

Booked to stay at the royal. Went to check in only tone told we were staying at their sister hotel. The royal ivy. Our room there was cold, black mould around the window and carpet, ripped bed linnen, ripped chair, dirty marks on the wall.

Incredible hard bed, no heating in the room on Friday night, we were told the heating had been turned off because it got warmer! Its still February and the nights get cold! No heating in the bathroom, due to heater being broken. We told this on the Saturday night when we went down to reception to inform them we had ants in the bathroom. Over an hour later, we had someone come to our room to spray the bathroom. As my husband was in the shower, I took the spray and said I would do it myself. D10 (domestic disinfectant) was the spray, you don't have to be in Mensor to know that disinfectant will not kill ants. We decided not to stay for breakfast, after the previous morning experience. We had no offer for a part refund, when we checked out. My husband asked a blonde woman who had just arrived informed him that it had nothing to do with her and he would have to speak to the manager. Who was not in at the moment in time. My advice to fellow travellers, stay at the Holiday Inn express or the Premier Inn, they are cheaper, comfortable beds, heating, no ants and incredible helpful staff. Would not recommend this hotel

Excellent customer service

No BBC TV reception. Evidently after change to digital TV reception has been affected---needs to be sorted.
