The whole concept was excellent, from the imposing entrance lobby to our upgraded room. Car parking was secure and the location was within easy walking distance of the city centre and the Westfield(?) shopping mall. All for £27!

The bed was extremely comfortable and the decor was nice. Plenty of parking and is located near the Westfield shopping centre. Very good price. I would suggest that you choose the family rooms as the doubles are quite small. The bathroom smelt strongly of urine and I was quite unhappy about it on the first night however I soon came to realise that it was the shower curtain that smelt and thankfully there was not any urine present. Think they need to keep on top of the cleanliness as the bathroom was not very nice. I would have liked the bedding to have been changed after the first night.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. As I was traveling with my family I booked a family room with a king size bed and sofa bed. The sofa bed was the most awful nights sleep my youngest daughter and I have ever had. You could feel every spring in that sofa. I stayed overnight to go to Alton Towers and after having such an awful nights sleep I can tell you going to Alton Towers is very hard. I was also told that the heating would come on in the morning as it was cold but that did not happen.

Did the job required and had own off-road parking. Noisy Air-Con near bedroom window was troublesome. Pity that should circumstances change, no adjustment/cancellation possible.

We stayed one night and got a very good price for two double rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good and there are some very good restaurants on the doorstep. The room was a bit too hot for a comfortable sleep.

We visited The Stuart Hotel in September 2011 on a trip to Alton Towers, hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very clean with everything that you would expect. The room and the hotel had been upgraded to a very good standard. Good location for shops and restaurants, at a very reasonable price. Only criticism was that the air con unit was not working properly. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again

Can't beat the location - just a few blocks from both the train station and Westfield Shopping Center. Nice enough hotel and good speed internet (Wi-Fi strong in lobby/bar, wired in rooms with some Wi-Fi coverage). Hotel food looked good and the bit we had was quite delicious. A lot of restaurants in the surrounding blocks so plenty of eating options. Staff were not the friendliest.

Hotel modern and clean. Room really nice and clean. Bar very relaxing and modern, lots of car parking spaces one of the best hotels i have been in for the price there were some random noises and creaks constantly throughout the night which i can only presume was the heating system, but apart from this cannot fault it....

The decoration was very warm and inviting. The bed did the job. we enjoyed ourselves very much it was in a great location. close to the station but not too close to the town centre Derby chavs. The walls were very thin. There was a couple having it very loud and grunty, which was nevertheless quite funny.

Located close to the railway station, walking distance. Rooms clean with adequate facilities within the rooms. Single room occupied next to stairwell. Stairs noisy therefore could not sleep until residents stopped moving about the hotel, approx midnight. Didnt feel the food was good value for money.

Room was cleam and tidy, . The breakfast while ample.. The whole of the Hotel staff were superb and very very helpful including the cleaning staff. Ray Young The loo was not as clean as it should have been The breakfast although adequate and of ample proportions was not of the Quality I would expect. The bacon was probably deep fried and was very gamey and spoilt the rest of the meal

The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and well presented The noise from the air con, the stairs and the paper thin walls did not help when trying to sleep... The bathroom was particularly small however this was a bargain price room so I guess we got what we paid for!!!!

The staff were helpful & friendly. Good central location, free parking. The cooked breakfast was excellent but we thought that the restaurant overall was expensive. The pillows in our room were very hard. The temperature in the corridors and in our room was too hot. The room safe was unusable as it shut every time the wardrobe door was pushed to, bad design & location. Generally the hotel seemed very tired and in need of a radical refurbishment. I think that 4 stars was wishful thinking.

No complaints. They did change the room which initially has to be mine. Though, some irregularities has been discovered in it. Nice staff. Close to the hospital. Sirens could be disturbing for sensible people.
