Edinburgh was great and the room was nice At checkout they automatically included breakfast on our bill, which we didn't have and also someone else had charged drinks to our room and staff should have checked signature and card with room number to avoid this mistake. Curtains would not pull right across and had been left hanging off by previous people or cleaner? Hotel on a steep hill which was difficult to manage by foot due to ice and snow. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the weather was very bad but the entrance had been cleared and the hotel was nice and warm. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times, unfortunetely this was not the best room it was rather large and was above the main entrance and the electric doors opened and closed all night, breakfast was a bit dissappointing to we had to wait quite a while for the servery to be filled up and people were getting a bit impatient. |

we had dirty water running from taps, don't know if this was due to the fact that road works were in the same street as hotel. |

The location was fabulous and the view from our room down to Leith was fantastic. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was nice. It was so easy to walk into Edinburgh and we did not need any transport all weekend because of this. We thought it lacked a personnel touch, the same person did not come to our table twice at breakfast. We did find the breakfast room a bit crowded and the continental selection was not that great. Also, on the Sunday, the conservatory room at breakfast was cold. Coldness was also noticed the first night when we walked into our room and very noticeable each time we got out of the shower!! When we went to use the pool there were no wet kit bags left and the changing rooms were a little un-tidy. When our bed was made each day my boyfriends jumper was just thrown back in a heap on the bed. These are pointers not critisms!! We loved our stay but as both of us used to work in hospitality these stood out to us. But thank you for everything else! |

Nice location, good facilities, room and bathroom very well decorated and maintained, front foyer pleasant and welcoming. Breakfast far too expensive at £15 per head, would have added £60 to my bill if I had it. They pre charge credit card with cost of room and extra £50 to cover damage! Never seen that before in a hotel and dont like that at all. |

The hotel is in a good location, entrance area and lobby are very nice. we did not eat at the restaurant but this looked very good. the pool, sauna and steam room facilities are very good, very quiet most of the time so very relaxing we were very disappointed with our room. it was alot smaller than expected with very little room between the table and chairs and the desk - practically no room! the end of the bed was so close to the wall and the wall mounted flat screen tv that in the night i walked into the tv, briusing myself! sounds silly but almost unavoidable, especially in the dark. also the light didnt work on the desk, the filament in the hair dryer had broke so it only blew out cold air, the drains smelt when you showered and the sink didnt drain away unless you stood holding the plug up with your hands. o yes and the duvet looked old and very lumpy. |

The location is quiet and very convenient. Staff were courteous and helpful. We were first given a tiny room we could barely walk around, but on complaining were given a better room. Decor though was poorly chosen - quite recently decorated but dreary and ugly.No towel rail,no fridge/mini bar or safe, basic toiletries -not a four star feeling at all. |

close to city centre, staff friendly and helpful, availability of the pool Up keep in room needed -part of basin tap missing, toilet roll holder broken, silicon around bath mouldy, light over bed damaged.Breakfast was a basic English breakfast with haggis, a more Scottish theme would have then enjoyable - porridge, kippers etc. |
