Great atmosphere and location was excellent for the places I wanted to go but bed was pretty uncomfortable and food was a bit pricey (esp. Breakfast).

The hotel was friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for a stay by the sea. The room I had was 201 I have to say it was a bit shabby and could do with a revamp. The lighting in the bathroom was poor. The breakfast was reasonable but the coffee was appaling.

The room was very spacious and clean. Room key didn't work when coming back from a night out, no night staff on reception to assist us. Slept in reception for an hr & half before someone finally showed up to re-programme our keys.

Location was right on the seafront and I had a room with a sea view. Walls and ceilings were very thin and there was a lot of noise from other guests. Although I had a sea view, the hotel frontage was being decorated, the scaffolding didn't restrict the view but the massive build up of dust on the windows did.

The decor and space of the hotel was stunning. Staff were very friendly and professional. Was near a wedding venue that we attended. Was 100% happy with our stay. The sofa in the room was very pretty but not comfortable for my husband, who had a back pain problem. Maybe there should be a small area that could accomodate smokers.

Great location, on the beach, far enough out of the way, but can be in the middle of things in a very short time.

My husband and I were visiting my son and his wife and family. They live within walking distance of the hotel so it was very convenient to stay there. We had all our meals with our family so we have no experience of the food and service etc.We had a large and spacious room overlooking the sea which was ideal but which could have benefited. We had an excellent room rate so we were very happy about our stay. Thanks to booking.com! It would have been a bonus if there had been double glazing as we overlooked the promenade and it was always busy with traffic.

We stayed at the Royal Victoria Best Western on our trip to the re- enactment of the Battle of Hastings in Battle. The hotel was very comfortable. It is extremely well looked after and is home to impressive stair cases oozing Victoriana. Just six miles outside Battle so perfect stop off location for our trip. Staff were very pleasant and helpful - room was large, clean and comfortable. Parking is a bit lacking.

Our room was spacious with a mezzanine floor and staircase leading to bed area. The hotel is old fashioned but is being refurbished so is redolent of old splendour rather than shabby. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the whole place had a welcoming feel.

This was our 10 year wedding anniversary and the location was the main reason as well as price for our choice of hotel. We wanted to use a venue across the road for an anniversary party and this hotel enabled us to drink and not worry about driving back to the hotel or paying out additional for a taxi. Staff were not noticed until needed, which suited us. Very helpful upon request. A bargain for just £55 a night and a living area and ensuite. Couldn't ask more value for money.

My partner and i loved the location, and we enjoyed the walk along the seafront into HastingsWe never ate at the horel,so cannot comment on that side of it,although we did take some pictures of the resturant, which was impeccable My partner asked at the bar if the lady did cocktails (this was all put in my comments on the paper sheet i handed in)She said that she didn't really do them and it would be expensive ! At no point did she enquire about whether we stil wanted one or even hinted at how 'expensive' it might be.My partner then ordered two Malibu and coke, the coke was so flat, and utterly tastelessOn it being commented on,the lady promptly opened and poured in a bottle of coke (i imagine she thought that would automatically make it better?) What she should bave done, was to at least apologise and give us fresh drinks, we drank and went to a nearby cocktail bar, which was so much better

This was the first time of staying away on my own and I was made so very welcome by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and I had the most perfect relaxing stay. Would definitely go back there. Just a few very minor things that could be improved upon. Although this in no way hindered my stay. There had obviously been some rewiring done and I noticed that on some of the ceilings there were some wires ducted out into the room and doubled back. Not sure what this was for but it did look a bit odd, it didnt take away the pleasant decor but just looked a bit strange.

Hotel on the seafront. Made welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room attractive and very comfortable, in a reassuringly traditional building (nice lift).Free parking just round the corner.
