The most amazing room, a modern hotel with the most beautiful old traditional looks Simple grand
Excellent choice for breakfast and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one evening. The restaurant staff were helpful and obliging. One particular member of stall was very helpful to a child who came into breakfast alone.
It was disappointing to have two guests on an adjacent table, working on their lap tops and mobile phones, while we were trying to have a relaxing evening meal.
Tv could not see from bed shower head keep falling down soap dish in bath loose
Staff prompt attention to requests
Common areas not kept warm
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Large bedroom overlooking the sea. Staff very helpful. Excellent food.
peaceful, quiet room overlooking the sea.
Buffet breakfast was good value
Food selection limited, no ale on draught at the bar.
It was immaculately clean and rooms very large and spacious. Had everything we needed.
Position and building
The staff weren't friendly and it needed a revamp as dated
Parking is a bit difficult
It was dusty. The carpet in the room had grey edges of dust. The bed was too small for the room size and uncomfortable, over used. There was plenty of room to put a king size bed. The 2 single arm chairs were uncomfortable and very dirty. The arms were engraved of dirt. The curtains were dirty & dusty. The hotel corridors were dusty and had crumbs around on the edges. I found the place scary. The staff struggled to serve a small no. of people during the breakfast - they came across as stressed / shake / agitated. I expected double glazing in a busy road. I dread to imagine what's like if I stayed in a standard room since I've paid for a luxury room with sea views and it was a total disappointment.
Room and bed
food not to good standard
Shower leaked all over the wardrobe Arrived late, so cooked room service was not available, after first being told the kitchen was closed, managed to talk to someone who vaguely knew what was happening, asked for a tuna sandwich, was called back as they could not find the tuna On final day the key card broke. Huge room, very small tv, need binoculars to watch. Asked for breakfast to be delivered for 7:45, arrived at 8:10 as I was leaving They say grand, I say old, dated, grubby, dirty, falling apart.
lovely sea view, staff very friendly and although we arrived early were happy for us to check in once the room was ready. waited in the piano lounge with coffee. Very pleasant, room and really big. bathroom spotless.
This hotel has fading grandeur, which adds to its charm. Shame they could not supply a biscuit with the tea tray, and the hairdryer, should have been in a museum. ha ha
Everything old fashioned and charming
very windy night and there was a draft form the window. I understand that the windows are original and I like the charm of them , however perhaps secondary glazing may be helpful . Not to spoil the charm of the room
Staff, a jug of iced water made available by staff well after midnight
door card failed to open room lock, required many (> 20) attempts.
Lovely bedroom, comfortable bed and amazing sea view. Staff most helpful.
Nothing to dislike.
Position of hotel, seafront view, room service,
shower was hard to set temperature in room 509- tapped didn't seem to work properly. kettle lid in room was broken
Lovely, historical building right on the sea front. Spacious and gracious.
Price, Location, Staff, Room Size were all better than average
Good location on Seafront, excellent breakfast and good free Wi Fi
Old fashioned Hotel and layout of our room was very odd with wardrobes down a flight of stairs. Only one lift which was very slow
There was no biscuits in the room
The size of the family room was excellent couldnt fault that.
Room was not very clean dust & also hairband on floor beside bed so obviously hadnt been cleaned properly. Staff on desk was not helpful as had double pram so had to collaspe as car obstructing other entrance. Expensive for what it was with no breakfast
Size of room, good price, convenient for my business visit. Friendly staff, although very few of them around at reception.
Discovering that Best Western had mistakenly charged me for a second night. Took a lot of time and effort for me to sort out and no explanation was given for why the problem arose, despite the reservation through booking.com being for 1 night only.
