Disorganised at check-in, worn and tired decor espesh carpets and lift, spare function room furniture stored in stair wells, a wedding party had taken over the entire bar and lounge area so no space for other guests, and finally they tried to double charge me on check-out (I had paid cash on check-in) and we had drinks that weren't ours on our Bill!!
A very warm and friendly welcome which was maintained by all the staff throughout our stay and should the opportunity arise we would stay here again.
Great breakfast pleasant staff
Decor in bedrooms poor chipped bath. All needs refurbishment.
All of the staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. The room was on the small side but for a single night for a couple it was cosy rather than being too small. I had read reviews from others who spoke about ‘squeaky’ floor boards; we had one of these but if you are staying in a character hotel it is a very small price to pay. The hotel was in a very convenient position, close to town and the receptionist gave us a tourist board map in order to help us explore the shops and local attractions. We will need to return to Royal Tunbridge Wells again and will be more than happy to stay at the Royal Wells Hotel when we do.
When next we stay longer I would prefer a slightly larger room and possibly a bath tub along with the shower.
Everything about the restaurant was lovely, waitress couldn't be more helpful, dinner was delicious, followed next morning by the best full English breakfast I have had in a long time. Room tastefully decorated, warm and quiet, bed a bit soft but that's just my personal taste.
Had a slight problem with the shower, sorted out quickly and efficiently by the staff.
Enjoyed the whole experience
Comfy bed Nice breakfast Clean
TV too small for room and signal poor. Decor needs refreshing - window sills flaking, knocks on skirting boards, crack on glass table and glass loose on one of the bedroom table drawers and one glass panel missing. Fan or pump noisy all evening (either from the main central heating or maybe kitchen extractor fan
Regency hotel in elevated position but close to shopping centre and Pantiles area. Rooms individually themed. Food was excellent. Try the fixed price menu-15.99 for three courses! Staff very friendly and efficient. Shepherd Neame beer.
Outside of building badly needs decorating.Rooms on the small side.
The staff. Really nice and helpful. They make this hotel a pleasure to stay in. room nice and clean and warm. Food was piping hot on evening meal and breakfast. Nice position close to centre of town. A 10 minute walk at most. lounge cosy and comfortable. I would go back in a heartbeat. Whole hotel closing after Xmas for A four month re-furbishment. great hotel in my view.
An observation and that is all is that we had room 2 which is over the kitchen. Extractor fan food smells wafted up and through the bathroom window if open. Extractor fan noisy in the early morning but not really a problem. Areas of the Hotel a little 'tired' but not enough to worry about.
location, breakfast, parking,friendly staff
needs re decorating.bath was too high for me to use,no grab rail
Breakfast was good.
Poor lighting in the room Some of the decor/carpets were a little 'tired'
reception, evening meal, breakfast, room, bedding, towels
ambience and helpful staff
Bed uncomfortable huge tub no walk in shower
Rooms very noisy
Location Ambiance Comfort
Bed was very Comfortable & breakfast was very good.
Bedroom furniture needed replacing.
Loved the food Loved the staff who can't do enough for you Loved that fact I can bring our family dog and he was accepted all over the hotel (not in restaurant but that's expected) Loved the fact you made my mother in-law so happy on her 80th birthday party.
Room was a tad hot but you did provide 2 fans for us which helped greatly.
Breakfast and breakfast room was great and the overall ambience of the place was great too .impressive period features especially externallt.staff were friendly. Also had 2 o clock check in
Our room was pretty small and quite shabby . Worn wall paper especially in the bathroom/big stain on the carpet/cracks in the ceiling /someone elses hairs on the bathroom floor . The staff were friendly but not very efficient had to wait 10 mins for staff to attend the desk to check out
Great location for sight seeing , very friendly staff , very clean . Would like to see it again after the planned refurbishment
Staff were lovely, breakfast and dinner was very good,
Dining room needs wooden or carpeted flooring. Bathroom needs an update
Friendly staff who go out of their way to help, good food and very clean with quality accessories like towels and toiletries.
In great need of a refurb especially all the paintwork outside. Room 20 furniture very shabby and no room to hang anything in the Armoire
The staff were very courteous and pleasant. They ordered a taxi to take us to a wedding at High Rocks which arrived 5 minutes early!! We couldn`t fault the staff at all.The room was large very pleasant, and as asked for we had an extra large bed.The bathroom was also large, the complimentary toileteries were of a very high standard and as for the walk-in shower it was huge!!!When we came down to breakfast we were greeted by the receptionist and the waiter who took us into breakfast. He was very friendly asking if we had slept well and how our evening had been.Breakfast was good and we had a choice of continental or full English.Sadly I forgot to ask the waiters name.Overall we were very impressed and would stay again. We would also recommend the hotel to friends if they needed to stay in Tunbridge Wells.
The only downside was our room wasn`t ready when we arrived at 14.25(details said we could check-in after 14.00.It wasn`t a problem as they gave us a room along the corridor so we could change but our room was ready within 10 minutes. If we had known it would only be such a short time we would have stayed downstairs rather that starting to get our clothes etc out of the bag.As I said only a very minor hiccup.
This hotel represents very good value for money. The rooms are individually decorated and are well equipped. The food, whilst not overly adventurous, is beautifully prepared and the staff are efficient and polite. The easy walk to the town is a great selling point. We wpuld definately stay again.
one of the 2 rooms we had booked had been refurbished with taste.
One of the rooms we had booked was not ready at 4pm although I had informed the hotel we would arrive at 3pm. The floor at reception was covered with paperwork . Some of the staff could barely speak English and are in great need of training ( breakfast staff ) . The room which hadn't been refurbished looked dated.
