The Conservatory Restaurant, with its intimate lounge bar, uses fresh, local produce. Guests may also want to try out the newly refurbished Chalybeate Restaurant. We reserved 2 rooms for an overnight stay. It was pretty comfortable. The shower in our room was amazing and the water pressure terrific. The other room had the same shower together with a large bath which was great. The decor was a little tacky, one of the claw legs fell off the bath. The towels though really good quality were not checked as there were a couple of disconcerting marks on them! The food in the restaurant was really nice. However the chef needs to perfect his poached eggs, they were overcooked. Also the fruit selection was pretty tacky with a couple of shrivelled grapes and one very overripe pear, the apples were floury and there were no bananas!! But the kipper was good to see on the menu!

We liked everything about the hotel ... the staff were extremely friendly, the room was very good, and the Chalybeate restaurant was wonderfully good. The hotel is just a very few minutes walking time from the Pantiles and the town centre, and so is perfectly located; it has great views over the town. All in all, absolutely super. Delighted! We will certainly use this hotel again if we re-visit the extraordinarily beautiful town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Well, as above, nothing. Well ... and this is, I know, serious and shocking stuff; there were no kippers available for breakfast. Despite this devastating news, and once I had recovered from my shock and trauma, I continued to thoroughly enjoy our brief stay at the hotel.

Very attractive period hotel. We had a very pleasant room and an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. A minor quibble, perhaps, but the quality image that this hotel warrants is dented by the apparent penny-pinching on some basic items. Very poor quality toilet paper with practically useless perforations, for example, and a very limited buffet section at breakfast with no meusli and a choice of strawberry or strawberry yoghourt. The cooked breakfast, however, was excellent. It brings to mind the old proverb: "spoiling the ship for a ha'porth of tar".

The room was comfortable although it was noisy in the corridor when people - probably staff - were walking by due mostly to creaking floorboards. The shower was good and the bathroom in general good. Quite a comfortable room so no complaints of significance. The restaurant seemed to have an average to poor menu so did not eat their. Breakfast was okay but the coffee, for those who find it important, was pretty awful. As a restaurant not especially comfortable.

The family atmosphere of the staff team was so nice. We stayed on New Years Eve and it was great with a lively band and the staff were natually welcoming. The delux double room was lovley with a red steel bath. The location is great, walking distance to fab shops and bars.

The room was excellent with King Size bed and a huge bathroom containing both a large cast-iron bath and separate shower. The decor was very attractive and much better than the usual 3-star hotel quality. The room was on the top floor and was quite cold, even with the heating on full, so I used the fan heater provided. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling mainly because there was no extractor fan in the room and it steamed up when I was showering. Some insulation in the roof space and an extractor would improve it.

Convenient location. Nice wetroom in my suite. Tea-making faclities. Names of rooms makes finding them easier. My room had an adjoining door to the next room with a keyhole you could look through so I put a chair in front of it. The sound carried from the occupants as if they were in the same room- and presumably mine did to them.

Good location, an attractive building, friendly, helpful staff. The bedroom was cold and the central heating radiators gave out virtually no heat.

Staff were exceptional even though the hotel was very busy with Christmas Parties, they made everyone feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble when it came to service. Rooms were clean and inviting, with stunning views into Tunbridge Wells. Breakfast was great too! Definately would use this hotel again. Nothing major. Car park was crowded but still found space for me.

I have stayed at the Royal Wells Hotel on a previous business trip and very much enjoyed it. The hotel staff are very pleasant and the hotel is very comfortable, it is a little dated but in a nice way and is very good value for money, hence the reason for the last booking. Best Regards Dennis

Not much of a relaxing visit as we refused the first room, no room to move or much light very shabby furnished, had to stay in another room on first night that was slightly better, then moved into a better room on 2nd day that was more appropriate for a 3 night stay. Waisted a day of our stay having to move rooms and staff made us feel very uncomfortable because we complained. Also bar prices off putting £1.90 for a drop of tomato juice that was out of a large carton, not even a bottle could have understood that but a carton costs 85p in any supermarket!!!! We were never offered a refund even for one night. Room number 17 was disgusting number 21 not much better I even took photos was so disgusted. Room 19 that we ended up in smelled of paint fumes from work being done, not good for anyone to sleep in, let alone myself recovering from chemotherapy.
