Score from 143 reviews Good
Quiet location nice room comfortable bed
Television a wee bit small
Close proximity to river, where we met family to cruise on a narrowboat.
Can't think of anything
Very nice peaceful setting.
We had the executive room & it was set up very nicely in a decent sized room
The security guard was quite rude in the beginning & when I came here a few years ago we used to get free breakfast in the mornings but not any more..
We were fortunate to book the last room available for Saturday night late on Friday evening as we had an SOS for help from our daughter living in Ware Unlike many hotels instead of a last minute booking being extortionate we were offered an executive room for £57.50 The room was large, spacious & very comfortable as was the bathroom with all expected facilities & more provided in the room. Another unexpected but lovely surprise was a complimentary continental breakfast being provided in the room along with a mini fridge. We have stayed in hotel rooms double the price with no extras & unlike many hotels on a Saturday night where late night noise is common we had a completely undisturbed good night's sleep. We were delighted with our booking (the second time we have stayed there) & would recommend The Marina to people wanting to stay in the area who don't mind making the short journey out into the countryside. A big thank you to all concerned.
The location, but we did not have time to look around. And we liked the breakfast you left out.
Clean, comfortable accommodation Nice quiet, location, overlooking small canal marina Handy for train into London Liverpool Street Excellent value for money
Bed had a cheap mattress
Location Room Facilities
Some noise from the railway.
Showers tired and could be cleaner
The whole experience was a pleasure. Particularly appreciated being able to park right outside our room as we were travelling from Europe with a loaded car.
The approach road was a bit narrow and extractor fan in bathroom not working.
Luxury lodge well equipped and very comfortable.very friendly bar.people chatty and friendly .
Found the cooker complicated to use could use simplified instructions .
The room was very well equipped and comfortable. The site was peaceful and quiet with some nice walks around the marina. Two of our party stayed in a VIP LODGE with excellent facilities and plenty of room. The continental breakfast was a nice surprise and very welcome as were the tea and coffee making facilities. We would certainly stay here again as it was such good value for money There was also plenty of parking space. The village of Roydon is very pretty with several places to eat including the excellent White Hart Inn where we had dinner.
The café on the site was very basic and could have offered more in the way of meals. We found the level crossing outside the tow path was in constant use and so traffic built up all the time on the road. Apart from that there was nothing not to like!
Quiet friendly location.
No eatery and breakfast only continental!
The canal side location and ease of parking and the peace and quiet, and yet within walking distance of a very good Italian restaurant.
The bed was too hard - very uncomfortable and the bathroom has some green mould around the bath - in need of better ventilation perhaps.
Everything. We rank this alongside any Premier Inn Motel. Clean, comfortable and excellent value. A spacious room with a with and equally spacious bathroom and super shower. We would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.
Rather than pay £120+ for a budget hotel in Stevenage, this was a great little find, Close to Cheshunt and all that it offers - Every Little Helps
The location was good, as next to a beautiful village, and the room was very impressive and quiet which is what I asked for. Also loved the fact that there was a bath and separate shower cubicle which is unusual and the breakfast, very thoughtful.
The TV didn't work on arrival, but I told the desk and they had fixed it by the time I got back to my room later that day. Also, it wasn't as close to central London as I expected, the railway station is going through refurbishment so there were no train details.
Room very well maintained and clean. Excellent bathroom. Lovely quiet location. We had ggod weather so sitting on the club house verander drinking wine made our 1 day stay so relaxing looking over the Marina.
Lack of food facilities. However we did walk to the Italian at the entrance to the Marina.
good clean room nice quiet area pleasant views and walks and the continental breakfast was appreciated
small lack of suger
Superb for travel to London. Will be my default location for business in London
Noisy floor boards in room 11. I mean really noisy. (Sorry to room below I did try to keep quiet)
Would have liked the restaurant+bar to be open
