The bed was to small for two persons. Below our room was the dining area. The music was very present in the room.
Staff were all so friendly, food good, rooms quaint, bed amazingly comfortable
The bedroom was large and comfortable, the food good and the staff friendly. Beer was excellent
Staff seemed unhappy although friendly.
The quaint old building, large comfy four poster canopy bed and sofa. Excellent well priced food
The spiral staircase to the bedroom was a little tricky to negotiate!
Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable bed and room. Great breakfast and good dinner in the restaurant
The food was excellent and prompt served. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The building was full of character and despite our room being at the front near the main road it was not noisy and we had a great night sleep.
Location, service and food
Pub was interesting & characteristic with a room that was lovely with all facilities to hand .The food in the pub had great choice and very tasty .Staff very friendly & helpful .A good nights stay for the price .
some dust about and some traffic noise ,but the pub was over 400 yrs old and characteristic.
Located in a lovely village just outside Banbury. Green King pub. Good prices. Reasonable food. Nice breakfast. Good check-out times.Nice room.
Curtains, mattresses and fittings all need to be replaced or at the very least, thoroughly cleaned. There was plaster dust staining on curtains and grime in every corner but cleaning would really be a poor substitute for replacement and general renewal.
Lovely staff, lovely food
Nice large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Meals were very good with a nice choice of food. The staff were very friendly.
The little staircase was difficult to negotiate particularly with luggage.
Good food, good staff good service.
found stairs were difficult.
Both evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Great to find a chef who knows how to cook a genuinely rare steak. Room perfectly comfortable and very clean.
Booked late so room was in the attic. Access a little difficult - uneven stairs. Plumbing a little erratic.
The staff were just lovely and the breakfast choice exceeded my expectations.
The wi-fi left a lot to be desired. Shame really because I do need access to the web.
the ambiance, facilities food was very good Very comfortable bed
Toilet needed repair
breakfast/ staff/ bed/parking very good. Loved ye olde style and clientele
loose toilet seat/broken sink plug chain/ heating not on so cold evening and morning with damp bath towels.( room 3 ) Superior rooms should have baths( room 16). Rib eye steak most definitely not rib eye or my butchering days are over!
some staff good. Some forgetful.
evening meal very poor. Breakfast OK but sloppy.poorly prepared. The chef/cook is not doing his/her job. Very poor.
Very hands-on manager supported by willing and friendly staff. Well kept real ale!
Attentive and friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Made me sandwiches and a dessert after I was delayed and arrived very late. All round pleasant experience. I would definitely stay again.
Very steep stairs but this is to be expected for such an old building. The WiFi didn't work. Luckily I had a portable WiFI with me or I would have been inconvenienced with my business e-mails.
Accommodating manager made late arrival less stressful..thanks
Tiny bed in room 8 Open plan toilet overhead!
The staff were really great
We had a refrigeration motor outside of our bedroom which kicked in every 5 minutes causing us to sleep badly
The staff, food, main reception areas were all good
Standard of decoration beyond non-residential areas not good e.g. plaster broken off walls. Generally, these areas were tired. An all night noisy air-con unit on the flat roof outside the bedroom window made for a dreadful night's sleep - even with the window closed.
We found the area interesting & enjoyed a local bus trip into Oxford which in itself was very interesting.
No shower, room needs an upgrade
