The location was perfect. The room was good. The bathroom was great including both a tub and shower. The Concierge staff was outstanding. The towels were large and soft. The bed and linens were way above average. Very close to the principal London tourist locations as well as Victoria Rail and Underground stations. Our stay was for 8 nights and we would recommend the Rubens to other travelers looking for high quality accommodations in a great location.

Although small the room was extremely comfortable - crisp cotton sheets and beautifully decorated. Great and attentive staff too but the real star was the food from room service - outstanding quality!

The hotel had a lovely welcoming ambience. The staff were very attentive and courteous, even leaving a small gift and a card in our room for my husband's birthday. We had booked a king room and it did was a much better size than other London hotels we've stayed at. It was lovely to drink coffee in the midmorning and watch the horses in the Mews opposite being taken for exercise or ridden out. Would definitely stay again when next visiting London.

Excellent staff and service. Outstanding location. Rooms are very clean and very comfortable, if a bit small. Wireless internet access is flaky. Bring a long ethernet cable because there is wired access.

Staff was excellent, helpful, happy. Food was delicious. Convenient location. They automatically upgraded our room at the same quoted rate without needing to check to see if an upgrade was available.

There is not one thing which stands out as being the "best" during our stay at the Reubens, from the friendly staff excellent personal customer service, beautiful clean luxurious room. One word to sum up our stay the staff and this hotel perfect. We will be back for another relaxing weekend of luxery. The only thing I did not like was only staying one night due to our tight schedule. I had trouble getting my wife to leave the next morning.

The hotel looked beautiful and the service, from the moment we walked to the front door, was world class. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and the receptionist staff and the Bell Boy here are the best by miles. All of the staff members we came into contact with on the first day remembered us in the morning which made us feel very special. We were also upgraded to the King Suite, this was a real treat and the receptionist staff were keen to hear our feedback the next morning. Loved this hotel and will be returning. The bar staff did not quite match up to the rest of the staff and the service was slow even though it was quite quiet in the bar area.

The manager was very attentive and very good at trying to sort out our problems. Once we actually got a decent room, the experience as a whole was ok enough--not the regal treatment I had hoped for, but ok. The free hot chocolate and apples were a nice perk for my daughter, as was the child's bathrobe and fun packs, when we eventually got them. The location-- I needed to be close to the Victoria Apollo --was very good. The decor in the room we eventually were given was very grand, although we both felt less desk and more space would have been preferable. I booked this hotel well in advance for an award ceremony for my daughter. I e-mailed the hotel to explain I needed help in making the occasion special, and phoned two days prior to check-in to reiterate this. In spite of all my efforts, we were put in a tiny, ugly room next to housekeeping. I complained. The very attentive manager put us in a much better room eventually (45 mins). However, even the better room was tiny, even for London. Sheets were Travelodge quality. We were promised a bathrobe for my daughter which arrived late, and only after I had rung again. Never got her milk and cookies or free films. The "view" of Buckingham Palace mews was of the back gate. Shower screen insufficient, floor got soaked. Tea/coffee tray in room had not been re-filled(was done immediately, by manager, after I asked). My daughter left a thermal top--I emailed the hotel and also rang them the next day, have not received word back yet. Room service got my order wrong (bacon instead of sausage). Where do I stop?

The location was excellent. The room was far too small. Felt very claustrophobic and unable to sleep due to this. It was like staying in a doll's house! Too many steps within a small confinement. Really disappointed as the hotel sounded very impressive on the website.

Rooms very comfortable and staff helpful The rooms where to warm and we couldn't control the temperature, also the 2 glass we brought up from the bar on the Friday night were not removed at all, and were still there when we left on the Sunday

A wow Factor 10. The room was an upgraded option and it was amazing. Food was also amazing . Spending time with friends and family in this hotel was the "cherry-on-the-cake following Dinner as a Winston Churchill Fellow at the House of Commons. I will now make Rubens my favourite London hotel and stay there every time I visit London in the future. Absolutely nothing to say - simply perfect. Thank you

Reception and doorman excellent service shown. Definately recommend this Hotel and will stay again personally especially if we can get the same great value room rates. We booked two rooms as we where entertaining our son and girlfriend . They loved it.

The hotel was convenient if you want to move around since Victoria station is a 10 minutes walk. The Hop on Hop off stop was also a around the corner of the hotel making it accessible to see the sights of London. The staff was extremely helpful. From the concierge, front desk, breakfast staff to the room service. The only downside is that there were no exhaust fan or any ventilation in the bathroom so you get all the hot mist making it very difficult to use the mirror because of the steam. I hope that the management would look into it and do something about it. It might be easier during winter since it was cold in Oct but I can imagine how hot it would get on summer. It would be a sauna room then. The bathroon with no ventilation. Also after a bath, the water splash is all over the place with no drainage so it would be an accident waiting to happen since it can be very slippery. I hope the management would look into this

Nice! The cozy hotel for town trip or traveling to business meetings.Well-equipped hotel. Good location, a few minutes' walk from Victoria Station. Comfortable and clean, very good choice for London. People and situations are different but in general it is a good hotel. If lucky and nothing bad will happen, should be guaranteed a positive experience.

I have stayed at the Rubens many times and standards are high and consistantly so. I will continue to stay at the Rubens when in London on business, as long as room price and budget permit.

Charming hotel with a warm, personable staff who are always prepared with recommendations for food & transporation. They catered to our every need. Our birthday trip to London could not have been better! The proximity to Buckingham Palace, theatres, underground and parks makes it a wonderful choice if you're looking for a good launching point for a weekend or longer. Nice piano bar for decompressing after a long day, 2 good restaurants, comfortable rooms, funky decor. We are already planning a return in a few months. Highly recommend it.
