Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent food. Ambience.

A minor point rather than a 'didn't like' - the room didn't have any drawer storage.

The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. On departure back to London we were asked by reception whether we would like to take a bottle of water for our journey. It is thoughtful touches like these that set this hotel apart. The spa was excellent providing very good massage treatments.

When booking via booking.com ensure you are fully aware of the rate each night as this is not clearly represented on the booking.com confirmation. Our second night was a lot more expensive than the first but on only the first night's rate is detailed on the booking.com confirmation email. At the hotel, the food looked great on the plate but did not have much flavour. It should have been wonderful as ingredients were sourced from the local area; but it did not follow through onto the plate. The room did need a little updating compared to the rooms in the new wing. It's a shame there isn't a pool as this would round off the otherwise excellent facilities.

Staff attitude was superb, nothing too much trouble, and lots of nice touches like taking in your luggage, and fetching your car.

The service was faultless from start to finish. The food was outstanding and the room was just perfect.

We were charged £107 for a meal that was signed for and charged to a different room.

The breakfast was a little disappointing as the buffet ran out of breads such as croissants and these were not replaced-this is only a minor point however

Rooms very comfortable, hotel is stunning.

The food, absolute let down! The menu is trying way to hard and is very pricey for the quality. I only eat it as I was starving it was bland and tasteless. Such a shame as its the only thing that lets this place down. I'd eat in Harrogate next time instead.

As we arrived for our 10th wedding anniversary we were told that they had upgraded us to a suite which was fantastic and also had a lovely meal Thanks sy&jo

Lack of swimming pool for a hotel of its quality.

We liked the comfort of the hotel - the bedrooms are superb and the general design and seating areas are relaxing and spacious. The staff are fantastic - nothing is too much trouble.

The restaurant can be noisy for conversation over dinner. The entertainment on Friday/Saturday night - singer and music - was terrible and spoilt the atmosphere of the dining experience. The food, although good, is overpriced. Breakfast is a little too early - a 10.30 am finish would be better, especially on a weekend.

The level of service was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxed.

Everything. I literally couldnt fault anything about the hotel or staff. Incredible! The hotel was luxurious. The rooms amazing. The only thing that topped the hotel itself was the staff. I can honestly say I have never received service like it!

From the minute you arrive the staff are amazing and the place has such a relaxing feel.
