Lovely setting and hotel was beautiful.Idealy located just outside Bath itself.
Staff were quite dull and not looking as though they enjoyed their work, after all..!! It's all about making the guests as comfortable and relaxed as possible
Please get some new mattresses, very soft- felt like I was sinking!
Views from the bedroom were incredible, a rustic feel and a fantastic building.
Worn but to be expected and problem with no hot water in shower but soon fixed by staff.
breakfast was good
separate accommodation from dining - not good in pouring rain. not obvious how to get into the separate accommodation - not good in the pouring rain. small executive room no room service noisy banging doors a bit tired for the price
Breakfast was excellent with a very good menu choice.
Lack of guest information in the room (we couldn't find it anyway). No information about the hotel either, as to it's history etc/ Unusual decor in the dining room too for such a lovely place.
Location of hotel.
There was a wedding function on at the hotel and therefore we could not park anywhere near our hotel room, this was not very good and put a dampener on the stay. very frustrating.
Price of drinks no shower cap no table if sat at sofa room set up quirky
The rooms were not up to scratch. We could hear the music downstairs from the bar. It's quieter in my central London zone 1 flat!!
The food, the staff and the building itself. I hold the owner in high regard because of his skill and self belief.
The decor, light switches painted over, ironing boards left lying around, too many portraits of the owner, and general state of repair is not good... A real shame.
Room was excellent Food was lovely
Room was to walm in evening Guiding signs to the rooms need moor
Staff were very friendly Being in a separate wing
the decor in the bar was not quite my taste
The Staff were really friendly and the food was very nice. I really liked the location and beautiful views of the garden from our room.
Some parts such as the taps and the shower were slightly broken.I also think that the room could have been given a lick of paint.
The location. Pleasant staff.
The noise of the boiler or air conditioner next to our annex room. It ran all night.
The staff were friendly and professional.
Food was extremely expensive and not worth the price whatsoever. Not a range for vegatarians. The room was extremely basic and there is no lift available therefore you have to carry your luggage up several sets of stairs yourself. I would not recommend staying and will not stay there again. I stayed over as part of a business trip and its an extremely dark, gothic-esque hotel. Not pleasant to be in at all.
The room was dirty and damp, food was of poor standard and when the plates were taken from the table a black grease in the shape of the plates was left on the white table cloth. The hotel from the first floor up was of very poor standard.
Staff were very friendly, the general manager ( Brian) was very helpful and welcoming. The stress of dropping our daughter at university was completely eased with this fantastic stay
Good location just off A4
Tired decor. Needs a complete refit. We had a suite. Huge wasted space with v small double bed. Only adequate breakfast. No fresh fruit or even tinned fruit. Sloppy staffing. We were disappointed by the whole experience
Great big, well appointed room. Access was easy, parking easy and the grounds beautiful. Our room was very large, the bed comfortable and the bathroom big . All facilities were clean and well presented. Breakfast excellent.
We stayed at Rudloe Arms last wkend (13-9-14) for our wedding anniversary. The location of the hotel is in charming surroundings of Wiltshire and it was easy to find. We stayed in the side building, separate from the main one by just few meters away. Our room was very clean and cozy with old fashioned but beautiful and comfortable furniture, the bathroom was modern and spacious with a bath, shower corner and a toilet. We had our breakfast in the main building, the dining room looked lovely and clean as was the breakfast with plenty of varieties of cereals, hot and cold drinks as well as cooked breakfast, only we feel they would safe themselves a lot of time and confusion by having self service with the cooked breakfast as that had to be ordered with the waiters.
The only thing we was not happy about was that we arrived at around 8pm and after a long day of sight-seeing we were hoping for a nice hot dinner in our hotel. However, the receptionist apologised and said they could not accommodate us for an evening meal as the hotels restaurant was fully booked??!! She didn't seem very helpful in directing us to a nearest place to eat either. So off we ventured again in search of ANY food and found a lovely little pub within Corsham village called The Hare & Hounds which I highly recommend as the food was delicious and even though we made the last order of the day they presented it beautifully and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The setting and the hotel itself were beautiful. Our room was stunning. Staff was very helpful and very tasty breakfast.
We booked the deluxe double room and the mattress were the worst I have slept on in a while. Very lumpy and no support. Although the breakfast were tasty, it took some time to be served and then it was almost cold.
Check there is not a wedding being held whilst you are staying - there was nowhere to park near the accommodation block when we returned. Be prepared to walk to the main house for breakfast - not good in the winter! The bed was very lumpy - no memory foam mattresses!
Staff were very friendly. Bus link into Bath really easy. Quirkly little place with character which included a retro games room.
Not keen on the sleigh bed as kept hitting my feet on the bottom. Outside door banging and smelling of fried food in the bedroom
Reception rooms small and crowded. Dog mess on lawn.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and very clean. We had a good night's sleep.would stay again but would not eat here.
The resterant is over priced and badly run, drinks very expensive.simple things let it down ie bread with no butter , tea with no milk. Table covered in crumbs at breakfast, cold toast and greasy food.
