All the staff where really helpful, the grounds and main building look excellent and we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.
No breakfast day 1 as chef didn't turn up. No breakfast day 2 because after 40 minutes if waiting for bacon and egg that didn't appear I had to go to work. Found coffee cup I used night before had been rinsed in cold water and put back on tray even though inside was stained and had dry coffee runs down outside, sugar wasn't refilled so lucky I had my own.
If you are looking for extreme cleanliness and attention to detail, this is not the place for you. There were screws left on the floor and dead flies and woodlice by the windows, but this is nit-picking as we had such a good price for the suite and the main room alone merited the cost. There was a queue for breakfast as there were not enough tables, so we decided to give it a miss.
The main hotel is really quirky with lots of interesting pictures and artwork to look at including many photos of MPW in various poses! The staff were friendly and helpful and when I asked for two chairs to be sent up to the room, they arranged it immediately. The Tower Suite was a unique place to stay and had amazing views from each level. We had a delicious meal, classic food done to a very high standard and would definitely visit the restaurant again.
Paint smell in the renovated rooms . windows difficult to open. Bar and restaurant a little on the pricy side
Great overall experience. Excellent breakfast Grounds are wonderful
Ok, the price was great for the apartment, but the cleaning was not to a standard you would expect from a Hotel associated with a star chef. Perhaps the low staff levels was the reason. Other than breakfast (included in price) restaurant menu not what we normally go for.
We got a great price at short notice on an apartment!!! We got a bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Hotel is characterful and funky with free pool and pub games in the bar. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and cheery. Nice grounds too.
The bed was not that good.
The place is very beautiful. Has beautiful grounds and is well kept.
Bathroom was small, room smelt of fresh paint & couldn't open the windoors because they were sealed shut, no room service (so when we went out for the day our bed was not made up again & no fresh towels), for some reason we had 2 kids rocking horses & no where to hang our clothes. The waitress in the evening were very young, inexperienced and no smiles/hello or good evening.
Location, clean, great games room, breakfas, helpfully staff and beautiful grounds
- Check in around 19h, got into our room and it wasn't ready from previous guests. A new room was provided immediatly but didn't had any toilet roll (2nd phone call to reception in 30 min!) - Room not very clean, mud on the carpet, light on the bed stand didn't had bulb, cracks on the walls... We liked the place and we believe that with some improvement it can be amazing!!!
Gardens are stunning and staff friendly! Quiet place and nice sleep Breakfast cooked to order!
Wifi access - very slow and frustrating. wasn't able to use tap in room due to only having a IPad.
The space in my room was beyond expectation
location and excellent breakfast not the usual poor quality.Only stayed in the annex which is still evolving but good books and a good nights sleep .Will have to try the main house and restaurant next time
At first allocated room 6 in the main house, this room was too hot and had no ventilation, the room and bathroom could do with an overall
The location for our need was good
Room was not cleaned all day when I returned and asked for it to e cleaned it took an hour for someone to come and clean it. Breakfast day 2 was busy and staff walked past me 3 times without even acknowledging me and saying they would "be with me in a minute"
no place to work comfortably on my laptop in the room
location excellent food excellent
Service can be a little slow just relax and enjoy
Stayed in one of the new refurbished rooms anazing
old bed springs crawling field.
We found nothing at all negative durring our stay
The Rudloe Arms has kept all of its Gothic charm and feel and then enhsnced it with comtemporary touches. The accomodation in the executive rooms is extremely spacious considering its build age. The rooms are simple in decor and furnishing but tastefull. The grounds have a woodland design with small areas that form firmal niches here and there like the chess board area. The grounds were quiet the only noise comming from the guinea fowl in the morning. We enjoyed a very relaxing escape from our teenage terrorists many thanks Rudloe Arms
The new build or refurbished building wasn't done to a high standard as you'd expect. A small 19" tv and a bath rail ready to fall of the wall.
The building was lovely and old in a scenic setting. Pool on a snooker table..
The problem with wi-fi was that there wasn't any....
Breakfast was top class and so was the service, good size room with view of newly planted trees
When going for breakfast didn't really know where to go or how to order until approached. Slightly dusty room, but overall not much to say for negatives.
Room was much larger than expected with great facilities, friendly, welcoming and informative staff. And food to die for!
Bed wasn't made on arrival at 3 pm. Headboard on the floor and screws sticking out of the wall. Bedroom needed decorating and tired. Shower temperature control came off in my hand whilst having a shower which could have scolded me.
Maintenance was non existant,Cleaning was poor.Finding the hotel was difficult as it is listed as Corsham not Box on the A4
Stephenie the receptionist was excellent friendly and helpful .The room was fantastic along with the bathroom.Breakfast was good i
Staff were stretched at peak times in the bar & restaurant due to lack of numbers
Spent a very pleasant night at the Rudloe, thoroughly enjoyable meal, very pleasant staff.
We would have liked a couple of comfortable chairs, or sofa, in the games room. Our room didn't have tea making facilities, and was not ready until 3pm.
The impressive Victorian Gothic building, with its wonderful interior decorations. We only had breakfast, but that was excellent.
Room too hot. Lightbulbs missing.
Easy to book, and very friendly staff.
It was a complete shambles, work was being carried out, staff didn't know what they were doing. I would never stay there again. I don't think Marco Pierre White would like to stay there. I can't believe he is associated with such a lousy hotel.
