The location in its own grounds and quietness, plus friendly staff. Good food (but see below). Probably because there were not many guests, except on Sat. night/Sun. morning, the menu remained essentially the same during the week, with occasional substitutions, but a longer stay would have meant repeating meals rather often. |

Stayed in a courtyard room - pretty surroundings, close to Taunton but out-of-the-way feel, good sized room, decent breakfast (included in room price) Decoration & furnishings a little tired/dated |

Views and aspect appealing.Daytime recptionist/manager helpful. poor room decor and a dated feel.television reception poor and only 5 channels. central heating on timer not guest friendly rule. at breakfast di not ask how wanted egg in breakfast , no sauces freely available.I think a breakfast serve time from 7.30am is late for guests especially business guests with early timetables etc. Also dinner serve window narrow with from 7pm to 8.30 pm last orders. |

Pleasent and comfortable surroundings. Good food. Lovely views. It would have been useful to know that there is no lift to upper floors. Or that it's better for less able people to stay in the courtyard accomodation. |

There was a helpful receptionist, but not much she could do The hotel restaurant was closed without warning and we had to make a five mile journey into the nearest town to find food. The chief had been given the night off. We had stayed in this hotel a few years ago and the standards have dropped markedly. |

Range of fruit at breakfast time was outstanding A pot of coffee would have been nice at breakfast rather than a single cup. |

Very poor shower for 3 star us franchised hotel: terrible smell of dinner in hall when I arrived and frying in morning. I asked for mattress topper on booking form- not picked upon. Not value for money for hotel 3 mi from town centre |

Peaceful, helpful staff, good food Bathroom could have been cleaner. Courtyard room was cold, even in June, as door had gap all round it. |

choice of pillows; friendliness of staff; quality of food; surrondings, beautiful grounds. the fire alarm went off late at night and it would have been useful to have had a staff member let us know what was going on. we were left wandering around in the dark. |
