We flew from London to Edingburgh and then caught one of the hourly trains to Leuchars. A traxi to/from the train station at Leuchars takes 10 minutes and cost us10 pounds. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The food was very good and the prices reasonable. The hotel is very elegant and is located next to the 18th hole of the The Old Course. Our room was spacious and luxurious. The bay window in our room overlooked the 18th green and was about 50/60 yards from the Pin. As a golf enthusiast, staying in this hotel (room) and getting on The Old Course was a dream come true!!! This hotel is fantastic.

Nice hotel, efficient staff and nice public areas, good food Our room was disappointing - we have had better rooms at around half the price we paid - the room was adequate just we were expecting better - we were down a corridor and up a stair with tubular metal bannister - not at all like the style of the main hotel - disappointing - it was like a cut price room which I hadn't expected from the booking form. Hot water took at least ten minutes of constant tap running to become hot?

Very comfortable and nice and warm. One important thing though, the shower was terrible, no hot water then eventually some hot water, got in the shower, turned up the pressure and it then went cold, then couldn't get the hot water back, so a cold shower! Very annoying!!! Pretty basic thing hot water!!!

Location, friendly staff. Although the main lounge has comfy sofas and an open fire, the fire wasn't lit most days despite it being cold and bleak outside, a big disappointment!

You cannot argue with the location overlooking the famous 18th hole of the Old Course. The hotel was comfortable and we were made to feel very much at home. The price paid for the time of year was an added bonus. I would go there again and again.

Staff were very friendly and a lovely roaring fire greeted us in the Reception Area when we arrived on a very cold day. Views from the hotel, out over St. Andrews beach were fabulous.

Excellent location central for shops , bars and restaurants . The lounge/bar areas were cozy and welcoming , I loved the soft sexy lighting and the luxurious decor all around the hotel . At breakfast we were seated at a table which offered panoramic and breathtaking views of both the old Clubhouse and the stunning beach . Quick and efficient checkout from a very pleasant receptionist . The room was unbearably hot during the night , even though we had switched the radiator to zero .

View of the old course golf course. Good breakfast. Car park very small. Had to park out on road. When booking, booked a double but was given a twin with very small beds. As it was only for one night just did with it.

Very friendly staff very nice decor downstairs in the bar etc clean great views perfect for golf great breakfast! The wait for our meal in the restaurant took one hour ten minutes to arrive and it was if I have to say very expensive for the quality of food ,as an ex chef myself the quality of the Rib Eye steak I had was not very good at all I suppose I should have said our bill was over £700 for 12 of us about£60 a head as we ordered more and more wine because of the of the long wait for thge food to arrive .

“Excellent location. Very comfortable accommodation. Walking coastal route is good only if you have appropriate footwear. A good pair of boots are required, and prior knowledge of tidal times would have been helpful, as we had to turn back to hotel.” Ian, Glasgow |
