Score from 806 reviews Very good
Staff drinking wine on duty. Smoking near the kitchen and howking as you're trying to eat. Dirty bathroom, with limited hot water... dirty kitchen with many electrical items out of order or filthy. No milk one day for the 'inclusive breakfast' . Damp on the walls in the bedroom! Noise from upstairs rooms v clear!
Free tea and coffee
WiFi didn't work most the time. Dirty and unhygienic. Noisy did not sleep more than an hour at a time. Showers were either scalding hot or freezing cold. Kitchen appliances were filthy and barely functional. Staff were useless and unpleasant, felt unwelcome and uncomfortable.
Decent hostel that does the job. Room was clean and staff were nice.
Location is a fair walk from the centre (although is near a big Tesco's). Walls were also very thin.
The friendly, happy atmosphere.
good stuff clean room free drink and breakfast
noisy bed broken shower ( only very hot or cold)
perfect location, very good kitchen, free breakfast amenities available all-day, friendly staff, cozy atmosphere! The room also was nice and clean.
hot water for shower was too long to achieve and not very powerful. A bit difficult.
BEDS VERY CREEKY
The facy that despite a complaint the first night about all the noise amd commotion the owner dos absolutely NOTHinG and the shenanigans got worse.
ambience breakfast tea all day (no restriction) clean rooms
old large poor heating microwave no printed instructions on how to use them, no TV (so couldn't watch football !)
Room very good, quiet location & friendly staff, also good sized kitchen with adequate facilities.
No plug in sink in bathroom, mirror in bedroom required!
Price was really reasonable and free tea/coffee was a nice welcome touch!
Paper thin walls meant I heard the stag do come in at whatever-o-clock in the morning, and someone snoring upstairs was audible in every room, upstairs or down!
Only thing to like was free wi fi. It was cheap to stay for two nights but could have been better.
This is the first time I have stayed in a hostel. I did not expect it to be luxurious, but I did expect it to be much cleaner. No parking at venue. Also charged more than advertised, because I payed by debit card.
it was cheap, free coffee, tea and cereal as well as milk, nice staff!
Room was slightly dirty as were the bathrooms
Very relaxed atmosphere. Sort distance to trams and Tesco's.
It was hard to adjust the shower unit for it to be suitably hot.
Good friendly helpful reception
Excellent value for money, very friendly and helpful staff, quiet and peaceful environment, close to tram stop and Tesco- supermarket.
difficult to locate at first as it is a bit away from the city centre but with post code it should not be a problem.
Welcoming helpful staff. Comfortable clean bed. Good conversation with other guests over basic toast marg and coffee in well equipped kitchen. Excellent mix if friendly people.
Imagine can be noisy and bathrooms busy when full occupancy. It was quiet when I went.
Reasonable price, WiFi and breakfast included, helpful staff, quiet location, kept clean.
Dirty neighbourhood, overall low standard of the hotel (expected for the price), 30 mins walk to train & bus stations.
• Wi-Fi constantly dropping out. Went for 2 days without an internet connection • Shower temperature changes from freezing to boiling without warning • Lots of broken tiles in wet areas. One toilet is particularly bad • Broken ovens, there is 2 ovens only 1 worked and out of 8 burners only 4 worked • Both range hoods above ovens were broken • All the supplied pans are damaged (out of shape, discoloured etc.) • Washing machine in kitchen does not work • Curtains in rooms do not stop any light getting through • No sound insulation. If you are in a downstairs room you can hear everything happening above you and in the kitchen • Staff and guests smoke outside kitchen window so smoke blows back through when it is open • Outside area not maintained at all • Washing line outside about to fall over (also a foot of grass under it) • Located at the top of a large hill (fun taking luggage in)
Nothing. The other residents or vsisitors were very noisy. They kept disturbing me and trying to get into my room.
I have been there during the snooker championship. Using the tram I could easily arrive at the city centre. And the night view outside the window of my room was amazing
the quite environment
nothing in particular
The staff are really friendly.！:-)
The position of the bed is awkward and the bed occupies too much space.
It was exellent did me for what I needed homely feeling quiet peaceful
Bed linen was clean
The hostel was dirty, didn't feel very secure door to our room (dorm) was constantly left open. The building itself is in real need of renovation. Location is not suitAble for a hostel in my opinion. Parking was outside neighbouring houses and again just didn't feel safe or even fair to leave cars infront of other peoples houses. I would definitely not recommend a stay here !
