Hotel staff were great, senior morning management attitude poor. We stayed for 18 days. The standard of our first room was very small, the blind was mouldy and the mattress on the bed had springs that stuck into us. The mattress was changed on complaining. Senior management did not allow us to cancel our long term reservation and we had to stay another 14 days. Fortunately the evening manager Arun was able to sort out our difficulties and we were given a better room. However during the day there seems to be a non supportive or facilitatory management attitude not just to us but other customers over a range of issues. My advice to anyone is to be sure before you committ to a long stay, because you will not be able to cancel after booking in.. Internet access costs 5 pound for 8 hours and parking 5 pound for 24 hrs. We moved to the Celebrity and have received vastly better accommodation free wifi and car parking for the same price and great friendly management and staff. I would recomend this hotel over the Russell Court to anyone contemplating a budget stay in Bournmouth.

The only and I stress only good thing about this hotel is probably the location. Having said that there are a lot of other hotels in the same vicinity so one can make a better choice. Everything about Russell Court was bad.The immature lady at the front desk was pathetic in dealing with guests, she clearly did not enjoy her job. They charged for everything and even took £2 per bag/hour to keep luggage in storage. The front desk staff would not even let my family take my bags upstairs for one moment and were very discourteous about it. The heating system was strange, noisy and inadequate. The hotel smelled stale and very very sad which is surprising for a happy lively place like Bournemouth.Overall it felt like a ghost hotel with may be not more than 4 or 5 staff members in all. Please do not stay there as I would never dream of entering there again.

Excellent decor We had requested a double room and got told that one wasn't available unless we paid to upgrade which I think is wrong, I think they should of informed us before we arrived. What would of been a fair price to pay for a room ended up being expensive.

I stayed in Russell hotel for one night, staff were very friendly and they answer all my questions, I had a family room which was very clean and refurbished bathroom which could easily compite with 3 or 4 star hotel. Location is just perfect only few minutes from the beach. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and will come back there again with my family for sure. Very small lift.

The location and the value for money! We paid £5.00 deposit for car parking even though we did not use the parking at the hotel. The receptionised stated that the £5.00 would be refunded however when we departed the different receptionist said it was not refundable ! Small point but a little dissapointing !!!

There was a shower un suite but was a bathroom with bath on same floor which was good. A lift which was handy even though quite snug fot two persons. Overall it was comfortable and did the job. The room faced onto main road which is fine but feel they could invest in double glazing as the traffic did keep me up.

The beds are very comfortable and the room is very clean. I personally liked the bathroom, which was very clean and comfortable. Other services were fairly standard. I will recommend this hotel if you're looking for something value for money. The hotel charges for car parking, which I personally don't feel good for charging hotel guests. Hotel guests should be given free parking.

Good location near town centre. Modern bathroom fittings. Good service when I reported problems with facilities. A tired room with cheap, shabby furniture and an uncomfortable bed. The bedside lamp did not work and tv reception was poor (tv was elderly). Shower did not work well and hot water emanated from both washbasin taps. I was charged over £3.00 for paying by credit card and this was not stated when I booked. An extra charge of £5.00 for parking. I suppose you get what you pay for!!

Can't grumble for price friendly staff clean room. Good location also. Car parking £5 per night tho and bed very hard. Also shower was either too hot or too cold and would not be good for ladies needing to wash hair! It did it's purpose and is rated correctly.

Russel Court Hotel is a good budget choice because of its location (just around the corner from the Pavilion and the cinema, straight down the road from the nightclubs) and its comfortable, fairly spacious rooms. I would recommend it, but with a couple of reservations that I outline below. The lift definitely needs upgrading. It is tiny (even on your own you feel squashed!), it is creaky and very claustrophobic. Two people with large bags would probably not fit in. The people on reception take your key as you walk out the hotel, and they lock all the doors late at night, and leave you to ring the bell and wait for the porter to let you in.. The walls are quite thin, and you can hear the tv next door which can be annoying.

It was cheap and seemed relatively safe. Reliable internet in bedroom. The lights in the bathroom were 'automatic' but kept going off every time I was half way through a shower. The room temperature was way too hot and not able to be controlled locally - plus the window would only open ten inches because there were bars on the outside. There was a loud noise running for hours at night - like a generator or something was running - that kept me awake. Expensive but reliable internet in room. Having to pay up front on booking for the entire stay despite not having had a chance to inspect the room is a downside - I probably wouldn't have stayed two nights if I had have inspected the room first.

Central location, polite staff and full English breakfast included made it good value for money. Uncomfortable bed and the knocking noise from pipework kept me awake for a while. Shower head could do with replacing.

Good location, cheap We expected a twin room but were given a room with a double bed that could not be converted to two singles. We were told it was not possible to specify which type of room was required, hence you get what you're given. Reluctantly upgraded to a family room. We were initially given the key to a room which already had guests! Shower took 10-15 minutes to become hot, wasting both our time and a lot of water.
