I arrived at check-in at 1.40 pm and asked whether I could drop the luggage in a safe place if the room was not ready yet because I had a business meeting at 2.00. The check-in time should be from 2.30 pm onwards but I asked the courtesy (which should be automatic in every average hotel) to just leave the luggage safely and the receptionist said that it would cost me 2£. This was not mentioned anywhere in the Booking.com website I used to book nor in their website and I refused to pay because it sounded just an excuse to extort some extra money from customers. The receptionist replied it should have been my duty to call them before arrival to check what extra charges they apply. At my response it is their responsibility to sell a product by giving out all the details to customers before purchase they kept on refusing giving me the room until 2.30 or leaving the luggage without paying extra. The argument continued a bit and in the end they gave me the room at around 2.00 pm. Moreover the hotel policy refuses visitors, hen parties or stag do, but that night a group of drunk people was allowed in to visit room 101 and they started banging doors and having an argument against each other in the corridor thereby waking up all other guests at inappropriate time. When I asked who these people were and why they were allowed to make such noise, the receptionist responded that they were just visiting one of the room. At my complaint this should not be allowed he then changed the version of the story and refused to give me a room in a quite floor as I had requested at booking time. Also, the entrance hall has smelt fro three days of fried onion and spices. I travel frequently to Bournemouth for business and I will never go back there AGAIN
Nothing apart from the bed was surprisingly comfy.
The smell of the room was so unpleasant. I went shopping for air freshener. The receptionist on check in was unfriendly and not really interested in us. Thankfully we only stayed one night so we spent most of the evening out.
Helpful friendly staff, good location, cheap price for the room.
Dirty bathroom and window, smelly blanket. The proper temperature was impossible to adjust in the shower. Inconvinient bed. Extra cost for WiFi and Parking!
I liked the location, the reception staff and the room and its facilities.
Very friendly staff couldn't of been more helpful
Balcony room, shower was very good, location was a five-ten minute walk into town for a quiet night out. Friendly front desk guy! Price was very good as well. I did have some concerns with previous reviews, so I had booking.com ensure everything was in order the night before I arrived! As I booked three weeks in advance! It wasn't the grand hotel (to be expected as a two star hotel), but it was 100 times better than the two star basement i stayed in London the other month! For three times the cost as well?!?.. Furnishing is dated, but comfortable! Just what I need in a room! Just to sleep in and spend the rest of my day in town!
There was nothing I didn't like?!..
This is in an excellent location for the town centre
A shame there was no hot water left for a shower at 9.30 am.
The location was good
Needs a major refurb. Parking cost £5.00. Wi fi cost £5.00. Breakfast cost £11.95 each,so beware if booking cheap deal
The only thing we did like was location.
Uncomfortable bed with old mattress. Dirty duvet with no duvet cover, only top sheet. The windows are so dirty you can barely see srought them. Spider webs and dirty carpet. No toiletries in the bathroom, only small piece of hand soap. Cold towel rail. You need to pay for wifi. Remote control not working correctly.
Staff efficient and friendly Good value bar meals
I will be contacting your customer services we looked at room it stunk of cigerettes and was filthy dirty they would not refund our money so we checked out
Location Large room with modern bathroom
Paying for parking on site
comfy bed, lovely greeting from reception, big shower
miniscule lift, frayed bed linen, all pervading kitchen aroma on ground floor
Location, tv, furniture, petit room which has a great capacity of storage.
Bed!!! Comfort of bed - unbelievable. Matress was used for way too many people. I didn't have a good rest, both of us were always rolling in the middle of the bed. Heater in bathroom didn't work.
Very helpful and friendly staff
Very very disatified and up set if I had not ov pre paid I would of walked back out the door It was like staying in a hostel vey unwelcoming my toilet Wasn't cleaned proply as had hair in bath poo marks on side if toilet and wee still in it Lift could barely fit two people in it with luggage also rude offensive words carved I'm the metal of the lift pictures very deceiving would never recommend to any one to stay at russle court there floor borders were uneven so was noisy when guests walked past my room stank of body Oder witch made me feel ill bed was on a slant as looked and felt like the middle had been broke and fixed badly
Hotel was clean and modernised, stayed in rooms 108 & 308. Friendly and helpful staff, £3 a pint.
Bathroom fine bed comfortable.
Only problem, was gale force wind room sea facing and was topfloor. Was fine when I went out but when came back late it was blowing hard and noisy. Windows were double glazed but wider gap may be needed for winter months. Oh and kettle had to be put on floor to use.
Location Newly decorated spacious room Staff
Visited late on a Friday night with my husband. The car park was full of white vans and when we checked in it was evident why. We had to fight our way through a fug of smoke as six men were smoking outside. The guy who checked us in complained to us that the smoke drifted into the building. Stairway & hall carpets were full of cement & rubble from builders' boots and some boots were even left outside rooms they were so filthy. I didn't see another female during my whole stay but did hear a baby crying next door.
room was clean and tidy.
paid for room only but decided to have breakfast there, very poor full English on 1st morning so had continental on 2nd. was charged £40 for the privilege. also £10 to park car which had to be moved 1hr before checkout time!
Friendly staff and great value for money. Clean with fairly recent shower and toilet facilities. Convenient for town centre. Good breakfast.
bed slightly too soft. A joined carpet outside toilet area needed making safer. Room slightly dated
Everything apart from the price
Paid for double room got a single . You could only get out of bed one side ..was told I had to pay twenty pound a night extra for bigger room .
