Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.
The people we were visiting
Needs redecorating/ could only get BBC1 on the TV/ 60 steps to the attic room no lift!!!!
Decor was dated
Comfy beds, Great nights sleep, good size rooms, good value, good location. Free parking (not loads but always had a space)
Bath a little dirty, one piece of breakfast slightly undercooked. Not all spotless.
The room was nice and big, with high ceilings and a seating area in the bay window. The curtains, carpet and wallpaper all looked new. I spoke to three different members of staff and they were all very polite and helpful.
The bathroom didn't really fit with the rest of the room. It was quite dark and the plumbing of the taps and toilet seemed a bit outdated (athough the shower pressure was fine).
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Lovely big white towels and plenty of hot water.
Bathroom shower and bath dirty. Toilet smelling of urine .very unpleasant experience .
added bonus of free parking, kitchen area in your room
dining area a bit out dated but food was good
The location, the tv, the large towels. Tea and coffee making in room. The staff are lovely and I like the breakfasts
Good location and breakfast
Stayed in triple room. Bathroom was very tatty and dated and desperately needs,at least, redecorating and a thorough clean.
Although dated, the position of the hotel is great for all Royal Tunbridge Wells has to offer. The room was very large, comfortable & we slept well. Friendly staff on reception.
The bedroom smelt a bit too strongly of bleach! Breakfast could be better especially the tinned mushrooms.....sorry!
Lovely friendly staff Very clean
Out dated decor. Felt like I had walked into Fawlty Towers
Good cooked breakfast
Good central location with a car park. Breakfast was nice.
very central location; plenty of space in the room
no bad experience
Location clean nice staff and good value for money
Water of the Shower was very weak and not hot enough There was no WiFi in the room but I was told about in advance
Bathroom and shower facilities were not very good; shower broken and water scaulding hot and dangerous.
Friendly welcome, free parking in the centre of town, cosy warm room
Breakfast was a bit early
Everything, from staff to friendliness of other guest.
bed was very very comfortable but then it was a new one. Room was also comfortable and very warm. Reception were very helpful regarding directions that we wanted for the following day.
Bar area was a little cold looking and could have been a bit more inviting but it stocked what we wanted to drink so that was ok. for the age and the stars of The Russel it was acceptable.
The hotel is in a great spot, close to town and all you need. The room I had was in a separate building, and was huge. The kitchen facilities were excellent. The staff helped with whatever was an issue. Brekky was delicious and plentiful.
I couldn´t get the bath to work. A minor issue (and I could have asked for help if necessary).
Good room good breakfast
The beds were comfy and the breakfasts were most enjoyable.
Wi fi not all that good in the room. Sometimes had to sit at the door to get even 1 bar but not really a bother.
Clean, spacious room, good hot shower, quiet surroundings. Old fashioned bathroom dating from the days when they built bathrooms properly (none of your modern slidey-toilet-seat syndrome).
Bath advertised with room, but sadly hot tap appeared to have been welded shut, so no hot bath possible. Completely understand why, as tub enormous so their water heating bill would have been astronomical. Would suggest NOT advertising the bath as a useable feature, however.
