Absolutely very little parking.. Very tired decor..
Breakfast very good quality close to town centre.
No resturant apart from breakfast
Location ideal, friendly staff
Everything needs re decorating and a good clean
The hotel is well positioned for the town and common. Staff helpful and friendly. It is clean, warm and water is hot. Room was fine
Two major drawbacks 1 no lift so hard work getting heavy bag to second floor 2 wifi doesn't reach top floor so have to go downstairs to check emails etc.
Lovely bright clean room, Quiet Central Location, value for money.
The location of the Hotel is fantastic, just parked car on arrival and didn't need to use it again as Hotel is so near town and all amenities
Wouldn't have wanted to come here for a romantic weekend (thankfully we've been married for 19 years)!! Hotel and decor are very dated and room was very basic but clean
We had an Annex room which is actually a bedsit in a separate house, with a seating area, very large bathroom and very compact kitchen. Ideal for those wanting to stay away from other guests OR for large parties occupying a number of Annex Rooms as there is also a communial lounge area,
The shower cubical was mouldy in places but for one night it could be ignored. Fridge had been turned off and door closed meaning it was rather smelly and would have take the night to cool down. Two flights of stairs to room was ok but other travellers may have problems.
very tired décor. indifferent staff. common toilet facilities. ( not only no toilet paper but no spindle to hold one if it existed.
I have stayed at the Russell Hotel three times now - it is clean, friendly and far enough away from the town to enable Patrons to have a peaceful stay, but close enough to the town to walk to all the amenities.
The beds were great - very comfortable and the breakfasts very good. Very central location.
Decoration was somewhat tired.
Helpful staff Cleanliness of the room Breakfast choices
The road on the common
WE found the staff and the location all very good and the cost of our short stay to be very good value for money.
There was nothing to dislike about the Hotel
The location was central to Tunbridge Wells and the room was large.
The decor hasn't been updated in 30 years. The staff were rude and clearly had no interest in their guests. We booked a double but were only allowed to stay in a twin. The beds were lumpy. The bathroom wasn't clean. There was no double-glazing so it was noisy. The hot tap dripped. The shower was a dribble. £79.00 for the room was terrible value.
Rather run down
Close to town centre
It's in need of refurbishment Tiny TV in bedroom Limited Parking available
staff were friendly and good location to town
The bathroom hot water tap could not be turned off and tiles adjacent to the shower needed a good clean . The bed was old and had no comfort .
position within the town was good
I would have expected to be able to turn on the tap in the bathroom to have a shower or bath. The water was too hot not to add cold water but the tap was jammed on so hard that it was impossible to turn on. disapointing and reflects my rating.
Stayed over..had breaky...left...exactly what was required!
More coffee...a bit shy it that department!!
The staff were really helpful. Lovely to stay in such an old Hotel.
We got the last room, which was 4 flights of stairs. So request a Room on a lower floor. Arrive early so you can park your car.
Good location, good kitchen even though we did not use it. Very comfortable bed.
The sausages at breakfast were disgusting. The room could do with a bit of updating but I have seen a lot worse.
The location was great, the staff were lovely, the breakfast was great, great to have parking as well. There was everything we needed there, clean sheets, tidy and clean room and tea and coffee making facilities.
The decor is a tiny bit jaded, and there is no lift but it is an old building so that is to be expected.
size of room was great
everything looked in need of an upgrade. tired and worn out
The staff on arrival was very pleasant gave us all the relevant info we needed to know where to eat how to travel to places & the breakfast was great value.
could do with abit of decorating abit dated but very clean
We found the hotel central to shops, resturants, pubs. Train station is walking distance from hotel. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and tidy.
Decor bit dated
dusty room, quality of bed, dated furniture and decor, dated bathroom, carpet in bathroom, smell of room
