Friendly/helpful staff. Good food.
Bit expensive. Building/facilities could do with a little TLC/modernisation.
Staff are polite and services was promote
My double bed was in fact two single beds put together which was a pain as the two single mattresses would split apart. Room was a large but was full of used furniture bit weird and the room iwewas in requires redecorating
The staff were very friendly and hotel was clean
We had people who were in the room above us and we could hear everything that they said as we had some air vents in the ceiling. Not good as the floor squeaked every time they moved as well. Told the reception when we checked out and they apologised and gave us a discount. I should have rung the receptionist during the evening as these people started at 3 am and didn't finish being noisy until about 8 am. Needless to say we didn't get much sleep.
the free wifi and helpful staff
poor shower pressure
The staff were not overly helpful which as we found is not surprising as they all lose their jobs next month as the hotel is to be bulldozed to build 15 houses. the occupancy of the hotel was very low which again is possibly due to the forthcoming closure
NO PROBLEMS APART FROM VERY LOW PRESSURE SHOWER AND COLD
The russell is close to the maidstone studios if you are going to a show.
freezing cold room (431).
Love the fact that it's pet friendly. This is a BIG plus as I travel back from Germany to UK regularly and always bring my dog.
I wish there was someway of having something to eat or drink that didn't involve putting the dog in the car or having room service.
Staff helpful and pleasant.food is very good. I doubt could have done better on the budget.
lovely big bed, lovely breakfast. also room service meal very nice and delivered very promptly by a very friendly young lady
I spent the entire night awake as the room was overlooking a recreational seating area that was used throughout the entire night by drunk guests. As far as I am concerned I payed for a room to spend the entire night awake . Very disappointing
The Location was excellent and the staff and facilities were also excellent
Very polite staff, stayed there for a Saturday night out on the town!
Old world style.
House keeping not done one day. Stairs made it difficult to get bags up to the room. Too expensive for the facilities available. Room key didn't work the lock so we had to re pack to change rooms.
Wifi and the breakfast was good,
The double bed was 2 bolted together, so fell between the gap all night, the crouch was broken and the shower had no pressure you had to stand directly underneath to have any hope of a shower, spoke to staff not bothered
The bed was very big and comfortable Decor and furniture are dated but tasteful and good quality, and room was very clean
Rooms are not sound proof and we were woken up by a crying baby a few times. Breakfast was OK but could be improved
The receptionist was very accommodating and helpful. The hotel setting was lovely. The room was comfortable.
The price of breakfast was quite expensive at £12.95 each. There is a harvester just down the road which does breakfast for £4.99.
General comfort of the room. Pleasantness and helpfulness of the staff. Will def return when in area. Excellent Breakfast.
Lavatory seat will not stay up on its own ! ( not good for male persons) Hot tap right side on basin.. Left side in bath. Bit confusing. I had problems getting correct temp of water for shower. Generally, plumbing (taps) past renew by date. Room 303.
evening meal good but breakfast was not hot under the buffet heating system
Full English Breakfast
Ensuite bathroom needs a bit of updating
Large bed Easy wifi Bathroom
Poor sound proofing in the room. Quality of staff bar/dining room. Food - OK but could so easily have been very good.
Plenty of space in the car park, big bed, big room, wifi, good breakfast.
The noise of the traffic on Boxley Road
Classic old building hotel which has been fitted out tastefully. Staff were very helpful. The garden area out the back is a beautiful idyll.
Traffic can be noisy on the main road. The part of the hotel we stayed in got quite cold at night.
