Russ Hill Hotel  

The otel was easy to find, rooms very clean, staff polite and friendly,breakfastself service very good and reasonably priced.

Hotel at present undergoing expansion work, which I would have liked to have been notified about. As hotel is on flight path,on warm sunny days the aircraft noise is very loud,again not pointed out. I must add that bedrooms all seem to have been double glazed.

I have to say it was the journey off site, the food was terrible, stale roast menu. Rude staff. A reception area that leaked sewage or what smelt like sewage. Oh yes a man who sat in his underpants with his door open

The ease of getting to and from the airport to the hotel.

It served its purpse: it was cheap and close to gatwick so that we could catch an early flight the next morning. Bed was comfortable enough.

A bit noisy (could hear the neighbours). Shower didn't work.

Good value

Shuttle bus schedule to airport. If you missed it you ended up waiting for the next one an hour or so later. Not an on request service.

The staff were very helpful. The meal we had in the evening was very good. Very good value for the money and the location was excellent.

Maybe the room was a little cramped and dark in decor. The bathroom wa very tiny but as it was only a one night stop I expect for a longer period I would prefer a larger and brighter room.

The fact that we have been using this hotel for near on 15 years, we are conversent with it's location and the nearby facilities.

The hotel has recently been taken over and the hostile receptionist nearly would not agree to the free shuttle service your company had agreed to at the time of my booking!! We were not pleased.

Great value for money, clean, decent beds, provide long term car parking facilities at decent rates.

Car park was a bit hectic to navigate, no breakfast included, a bit remote from town centres or the airport (although I did see gatwick buses stop regularly out the front).

Hotel is very picturesque, staff helpful and curteous, setting lovely. Easy access to airport.

Old and run down, cold, damp, problems with tv tuning and water pressure for showers in many rooms.

Value for money

The light bulbs - I really object to poor quality light bulbs in many cases the new style eco bulbs, the lighting in one of the lounges was appalling making it very difficult to read both papers and keys on my laptop. The lighting in the bedroom was slightly better but these new style light bulbs on the whole project a poor level of light - I appreciate that this is not all the hotels fault but my opinion must be passed and something could be done about the lighting in the lounge. Main other observation - no Wi-Fi in bedrooms and my vodafone dongle did not work causing some work related issues.

It was very comfortable and close to Gatwick Airport which is what we were looking for as it is under 10 minutes drive away. Also the Russ Hill Hotel is served virtually day and night by an excellent bus service. It was our third stay at the hotel and we will certainly be going back when we are next in the uk. Good location for airport
