Beautiful place traditional feel with modern comforts. Great room and ensuit shower. Tv dvd player. Ample parking. Friendly attentive helpfull staff supurb locally sourced breakfast. Really nice honesty bar. Great retreat!
The lovely old building and the friendly staff.
Staff were excellent so was breakfast
The room which was an upgrade our window which we understand is prob listed was paint ajar so it was quite cold in the room and the shower was on the small side also loo roll holder kept falling off the wall
Location for access to Whitby. The cost of this special offer.
Would benefit from double glazing. Local info in room would be useful.
full english breakfast was not of a good standard.
What a lovely place to stay. The staff were nice and very helpful, breakfast was yummy, the rooms were clean and tidy and had a lovely large wooden gothic headboard, it was lovely and warm (we went in November) cosy and friendly. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
location, breakfast and facilities were fantastic. walked down the side of railway and river to Whitby. hospitality great will definitely go back. would like to have seen the other rooms, but ours did not dissappoint
the rustic oldie worldie look , found very nice and interesting , parking seemed secure and not overlooked exactly , i'd stay again no problem and try footpath at my peril , thanks again regards alan
i found it off the beaten track slightly , the website mentioned within mile of Whitby towhich i later found public path across farmers field ? ? , possibly not for the feint hearted especially alone and at night with few real ales inside you !!!! although i would have been tempted simply because it was a fair walk into the town , and no noticeable signage back too hall with regards to public path , though you would need to walk it from hall to find out where it turned out in town .. ! internet signal poor even with Wi fi
The stay was one hundred percent perfect and we will look forward to visiting again , but next time it will be for longer than one night
The accommodation was very spacious and in a beautiful location. The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome
The owners are welcoming and the bedroom (number 1) was a good size. The bed was very comfortable. The whole place has a nice feel to it and I imagine the garden in the summer would be great. The breakfast was excellent as was the young lady who served us.Recommended.
The extractor fan in the bathroom went on for too long but only a minor irritation
Friendliness Hospitality Peacefulness Good Breakfast
No lift No mirror in the bedroom Restricted entry & exit into car park for larger vehicles
good location, lots of character and great breakfast.
bit tired looking
Beautiful rooms fantastic breakfast.
Our room was comfortable and the toiletries were good. Breakfast had a good choice.
The kettle didn't work in our room.
Beautiful property, felt welcomed and well looked after. Breakfast ample and tasty.Would stay again.
A little more attention to detail needed, dusty here and there.
Simply a wonderful experience... One of the loveliest places we have been for a long weekend break. Staff and breakfast wonderful, location excellent, building fascinating and quirky... Altogether superb!
One thing - not sure if we missed it, but ice for mixers in the honesty bar would be great!
As soon as we walked in to Ruswarp Hall it felt like stepping back in time, the decor and ambience is magical. We were greeted warmly and quickly shown to our spacious room, the honesty bar was excellent we slept soundly and we were treated to a fantastic, locally sourced breakfast. One if the best nights we have ever had. A place to return to many times.
Location & Views
The house was built in 1603 and has a great deal of character. It is ideally located five minutes drive from the town centre / coast. (Taxi cost £5.50, which is cheaper than parking your vehicle in the twown centre). The hotel has free parking. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the staff were very friendly. The full English breakfast was excellent quality. I will definately stay here again.
The view at the rear from our bedroom window of the steam trains on the North York Moors Railway
Squeezing our car through the narrow approach to the car park was difficult. The establishment needs a lot of money spending on it. The bathroom was tiny and spartan.Breakfast was just about ok. Externally the place looks attractive, however looks can be deceptive.
Nicely preserved historic property. Close to Whitby which was perfect. Liked the use of the honor bar. Parking at the property was helpful too.
Since we booked last minute we had a very small room with a bathroom that had a sliding door right next to the bed. Obviously not good for any privacy but I'm sure they tried to make the most of a room in an old property.
A friendly and helpful reception in an interesting building. A comfortable bed and reasonable facilities. The room was generally well kept. A good cooked breakfast. In easy reach of Whitby and the moors. The Whitby "Park and Ride" was reasonably close.
We found some surfaces e.g. bedside tables dusty. We would have liked a wider choice of breakfast cereal.
