The walk into Whitby nice good location just outside of the town within a taxi ride at night. Room lovely and the breakfast just right for a good days walking
Nothing at all everything was really nice had a lovely time would definitely stay again if in the area
lovely grand historic building with views from room 12 of the garden, steam trains and boats, had a really good nights sleep and the staff were very helpful, breakfast was excellent would stay again
The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Room 11 highly recommend ( family room). The place itself is stunning & deco is so fitting. Food was wonderful & the staff chatty & friendly. Really really enjoyed our stay x
Curtains didn't fit the windows properly, although lovely and clean pillows, duvet and cover had seen better days.
the rooms were clean and well presented, the hotel was clean throughout and the common area's were really welcoming. the breakfast is to die for!!
The staff were very polite and friendly, room was gorgeous and spotless and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic. A Great Time had by all.
we liked the location, the staff where friendly and helpful and the building was beautiful.the breakfast was was excellent and a good choice was provided.
the bedroom we stayed in didnt have a mirror in the room.
Friendly welcome Consideration Great breakfast
windows didn't close - could be chilly in winter!
We spend our Honeymoon at Ruswarp Hall, Colin & Alison greet us with a warm welcome, the Generous Full cooked English breakfast was fab and good quality products and lovely polite waitress, we stayed in room 11 which had a four poster bed it was great location 5 mins away from Whitby, will definitely be returning
The character. And old features mixed with new
The quilt cover was very faded and didn't fasten onto the quilt itself ,it looked a bit tatty.the room was a bit cold
Nice staff and lovely breakfasts, good location close to Whitby
In need of a bit of TLC throughout
In quiet area back from busy holiday town centre. It is very likely that we shall stay again at Ruswarp Hall, Whitby.
No evening meals available but we discussed it with the proprietors and understood their situation and reasons, and there are some excellent eating places nearby, some within walking distance, so it did not spoil our stay in a well kept and preserved historic old building.
The location was OK we liked the walk in to Whitby along the river and the railway line. The WiFi was quite good. Parking was good which was one reason we did not stay in Whitby.
The only problem seemed to be with the shower which would go cold then hot, I think it was because of the water supply which varied with how many people were using it at the same time.
Nice atmosphere and location. Very good breakfasts and friendly service. Clean and efficient shower in bathroom.Convenient parking.Very good as a base for Whitby and area.Fully functional digital television.
Lack of drawers in bedroom .No towel rail by sink or hooks on bathroom door.
Location excellent, lovely walk into Whitby. Staff very friendly, lovely breakfast with a great choice. Family room very spacious.
Could do with a bit of decorating, perhaps more mirrors and plug sockets.
Quite no seagulls but within easy walking distance to Whitby
Whats not to like !!
The attitude and friendliness of owner/staff. Great breakfast ... didn't need to eat for the rest of the day!
Not as clean as it could have been ... very dusty skirting boards, stained table cloths etc but then I am a stickler for cleanliness. All looked a little shabby and in need of a bit of a makeover. Rather alot of noise from the room above but it is an old building so soundproofing probably not a priority when it was built :-)
The peace & quiet the quaintness of the place location was handy for local pub
the accommodation, staff and surrounding area ie village and river
clean ,fresh bright rooms basic but adequate ..staff very friendly and excellent breakfast
No mirror near plug to use hairdryer ..but that's all
Breakfast was excellent.nice village.
The village and ability to walk to Whitby.
The hotel has a very unloved feel about it. Our room was spartan and carpet was stained. The dining annex is like a converted garage. No seating in the garden except for wooden picnic tables and one bench.
Nice staff, beautiful old building, grounds & village. Walk to Whitby & over viaduct fantastic! Brilliant breakfasts, I've never had smoked salmon at any other B&B! For the brave there was a Bloody Mary on the menu!
Family room at top of building may be an issue for larger families with young children, annoying for us but not a deal breaker. Car park would probably be tight with full occupation, 16 rooms.
We travelled by train, therefore we found the hall a perfect location within walking distance from train. A lovely local pub serving good food. Plus whitby within walking distance and just a few minutes down we hired a boat on the river Esk.
Having to come home, after a lovely weekend in ruswarp/whitby
Ideal location, rustic building. Great staff and food. Great grounds.
Lots of stairs up to second floor were unsuitable for a disabled person in our party. Local pub did not do food on a Monday so had to travel out for food. Parking very tight when car park is full.
