Lovely locally sourced breakfast
Could do with a bit of a spruce up, it's a little jaded in places
The room, The location, The building, the breakfast and the staff
Poor phone coverage
The location is great, the views from the bedroom, great breakfast, nice owners, nice historic place.Handy for touring round moors and walking into Whitby.
Only there for 3 days, not long enough.
Breakfast sausage - delicious! A lovely warm welcome.
Being woken several times by fire alarm.
Friendly owners. Nice building , good location. Great breakfast.
Filthy room. Cobwebs. Dust you could write your name in (check the lamps). Dust and matted hair behind the door. Yellow stains on the tiles next to the toilet. To the owners: Room 4, clean it for 3 hours and it will be nice!
Features of the Hall were brilliant, staff very friendly and helpful. Service at breakfast and food all very good.
Bathroom quite small and room a bit cold but we did go in December and the weather was exceptionally cold outside
Close proximity to Whitby
Room a little cold
The staff were welcoming and house situated in a pretty spot. Room was large with a good view. Breakfast was excellent with good choices. Perfectly situated for a nice walk into Whitby. Also enjoyed the atmosphere of the small local pub, just down the street from the house.
Cleanliness in the bathroom! Various hairs in the shower and on basin when we arrived. Also not a good look having a rather used "brown" looking toilet brush displayed next to the toilet. Glass at end of shower also appeared to not have been cleaned when glancing at it on a certain angle. If the cleaning was supervised more closely and toilet brushes replaced regularly we would happily recommend Ruswarp Hall!
The entrance hall Young girl who served breakfast who was very good.
The hosts get up and go had long since got up and went! He just could not be bothered starting from showing us to the room, to me asking the following day about my concerns. I even tried to make excuses for him when airing my concerns but it looked like he had heard them too many times to be interested. Room was freezing, stained chairs, carpets etc, cobwebs galore, extra sheets looked like they had been used and strewn over cupboard floor, shower was useless. Breakfast was poor - coffee was served in a pot with additional jug water because the coffee was very strong and had been stewing for some time, it was also instant coffee so why stew it? just serve hot water and sachets would have been better.
Room was brilliant, free car parking, fabulous breakfast, very welcoming
Excellent breakfast and staff. Excellent value for money
Bed uncomfortable, hard mattress. Room could do with upgrading.
Beautiful place traditional feel with modern comforts. Great room and ensuit shower. Tv dvd player. Ample parking. Friendly attentive helpfull staff supurb locally sourced breakfast. Really nice honesty bar. Great retreat!
The lovely old building and the friendly staff.
Staff were excellent so was breakfast
The room which was an upgrade our window which we understand is prob listed was paint ajar so it was quite cold in the room and the shower was on the small side also loo roll holder kept falling off the wall
Location for access to Whitby. The cost of this special offer.
Would benefit from double glazing. Local info in room would be useful.
full english breakfast was not of a good standard.
What a lovely place to stay. The staff were nice and very helpful, breakfast was yummy, the rooms were clean and tidy and had a lovely large wooden gothic headboard, it was lovely and warm (we went in November) cosy and friendly. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
location, breakfast and facilities were fantastic. walked down the side of railway and river to Whitby. hospitality great will definitely go back. would like to have seen the other rooms, but ours did not dissappoint
the rustic oldie worldie look , found very nice and interesting , parking seemed secure and not overlooked exactly , i'd stay again no problem and try footpath at my peril , thanks again regards alan
i found it off the beaten track slightly , the website mentioned within mile of Whitby towhich i later found public path across farmers field ? ? , possibly not for the feint hearted especially alone and at night with few real ales inside you !!!! although i would have been tempted simply because it was a fair walk into the town , and no noticeable signage back too hall with regards to public path , though you would need to walk it from hall to find out where it turned out in town .. ! internet signal poor even with Wi fi
The stay was one hundred percent perfect and we will look forward to visiting again , but next time it will be for longer than one night
The accommodation was very spacious and in a beautiful location. The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome
The owners are welcoming and the bedroom (number 1) was a good size. The bed was very comfortable. The whole place has a nice feel to it and I imagine the garden in the summer would be great. The breakfast was excellent as was the young lady who served us.Recommended.
The extractor fan in the bathroom went on for too long but only a minor irritation
Friendliness Hospitality Peacefulness Good Breakfast
No lift No mirror in the bedroom Restricted entry & exit into car park for larger vehicles
