Convenience for Hospital nearby. The food was extremely good and breakfast first class.
Lack of lift and above all the hotel really needs to address its very dated décor and design. It is overdue for a significant facelift, given its premier position in Sheffield.
Food Free WiFi Location Free Parking Nice bed Posh bathroom
Cold room with faulty AC
Bed very comfortable and food very good.
No lift (should have checked before booking but would expect all 4 star hotels to have a lift)' would not recommend to anyone with walking difficulties and anyone suffering from Pulmonary Hypertension.
Very hard edges of furniture were exposed - corners of bed-easy to knock into!
I had my elderly mohter in law, room they allocated was not suitable and they bent over backwards to find a more suitable room, and allowed us to use longer whilst i was waiitng to take her to her hospital appointment. This is the second time i have stayed and will be coming again in March
Food was ok, the meat was very dry on the Sunday, but to be fair we sent back and they did a further lot whihc was much better, nothing was to much trouble. I was here in january and have to say food was mcuh better
The receptionest was very kind and helpful especislly the lady one.
No WIFI in the room. No shampoo in the bath. Should pay 10 pounds for breakfast.
Most things, very pleasant stay - epecially for the price.
Staff great, friendly, breakfast great, excellent value.
Noise from second floor, Creaking corridor, constant heavy footsteps, and movement heard from 5-30am, until 7-15 when I got up. Air conditioning didn't work. Should have been sorted. Maintenance men were 'unavailable, 'out getting fabrics'. Décor dark, and tired. Memory foam mattress seemed to remember previous guests
Very friendly and helpful staff
Very dated decor
The bathrooms were modern enough ...
... but the bedrooms were tired & dated. The decor was in a 1970s or 80s time-warp. Carpets were worn. Air-conditioning didn't seem to work. The units looked archaic. The window frames were sadly neglected. The single room that I was given for the first night was small, cluttered, hot & over the rubbish bins. Horrible!
Staff were fantastic food was beautiful
Asked for a deluxe double suite, dubious the bed was a "kingsize"
The exterior of the building is lovely
The facilities are out dated, parking is limited the decoration is tired and the corridors to the room smell very damp
the bar area was very good the meal we had was excellent the garden was nice to sit and have tea in and also it wasn't overcrowded
the single room was very pokey and far too warm I would have preferred a room next to my brother who was with me because I was attending the hospital for some treatment
Small garden area and attentive staff at reception and bar/food service
Poor room. No bath and enclosed shower area obviously shed water as door surrounds were rotten. Lack of drawer space and no toiletries other than liquid soaps. No air conditioning and therefore windows were left open so early morning noise.
good location, very clean.
Small room, no air conditioning, very warm.
Fan was greatly appreciated in the hot weather
Limited parking Very small room
Near the university and city centre. Car park is small bt at least the hotel has one. City centre hotels have no parking facilities.
I think the price if the breakfast is expensive, have stayed in better hotels for the same rate but it included breakfast
Convenient to the university
The smell. Bathroom smelt of urine and corridors of old and musty
The location was perfect for attending the graduation ceremony at Sheffield University
Too many patterns in the bedroom! They made the room rather dark and gloomy.
Bathroom appeared recently refurbished and was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good with a range of food.
Pity we had to pay extra for breakfast. Parking was difficult at busy times of the day.
Comfortable room, excellent service.
Not enough electrical outlets in room. AC was useless.
breakfast not included in price
SINGLE ROOMS DIRTY AND IN THE BASEMENT, NO MAID SERVICE FOR 4 NIGHTS
Located in a nice area of Sheffield opposite my old school!
Small, pokey room which was quite dark. More like a monk's cell than a hotel room. Terribly over-priced for what it was.
Supportive and helpful staff
Price, lack of parking
