Noisy at times...floors creak
Friendly staff and amazing shower!
Gloomy lighting in bedroom & general shabby feel of the hotel. Dark paint used on the wood work has chipped revealing white paint underneath, giving the place a scruffy feel. Can't belief it is 4****
The room and the food in the restaurant were really nice. Even though we didn't get enough tea and coffee for the room it was readily available from reception
The free wifi did not actually reach our room.
Nice shower, great sized bed, ideal location.
Lack of control to cool room with air con (I was too hot). Shower caused bathroom to become extremely wet (glass screen way too short). Cost was very high, have had much cheaper nights in Manchester for example with similar conditions (location, star rating etc).
In the morning the receptionist phoned to tell me I hadn't put my breakfast card out and would I like her to arrange one and as I was on crutches would I like help with my luggage. Ground floor room with walk in shower was very thoughtful.
Easy walking distance to the city and close to the University Accommodation
Parking is a bit of a nightmare
restroom is too small
It is quiet, friendly and reliable. Breakfast is great!
The bar restaurant menu remains old fashioned and masculine although it is well presented and tasty. Pies feature heavily! The decor there is uninspiring compared to the rooms and in winter the seating near the windows is cold but there are few other options.
Very tight car park spaces
The staff were superb, the food was great and the room was large with a modern bathroom. The parking however was terrible. I have a Vauxhall corsa and the lines were exactly the width of my car! Not good at all.

Location was great for where we were wanting to go the next day. Restaurant food was lovely and arrived quickly.
breakfast good staff friendly
lots of stairs to move our luggage no offer of help at the reception
The location was excellent as it was within walking distance of the University of Sheffield
The gentleman serving breakfast was a breath of fresh air and did everything he could to assist us.
I was very disappointed with the meal we had. It was a group booking and the meal was barely edible. I am a catering manager and crunchy melon, overcooked salmon, undercooked frozen cauliflower & flavourless fruit crumble are not acceptable and the other dishes were no better. The manager serving the meal was surly and unfriendly which didn't add to the experience.
The staff were fantastic and friendly.
The dinner was very poor. But the breakfast was good!
Bit scruffy but comfy enough and good breakfast.
Liked the room (if small) and bed. Although the pictures above the beds gave our fellow travellers some amusement.
Food for dinner was really not very good. One of worst meals I've ever had, sadly. We were a group and were all astonished with how bad it was.
walking distance for the hospitals which was why we were in Sheffield. The décor and room design was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
It was very noisy outside our room at around 5-6 am. The bins were located just under our window and I am unsure if it was hotel workers arriving or bin men, but there was a lot of noise from smashing glass and bins being moved around. I would have expected a 4* to have a few more facilities.
Friendliness of staff overall and quality of service in the restaurant and bar in particular.
Location and free parking available.
Hot water took a while to run through and room/corridor slightly dirty.
The bed, the location, reasonable value for money, nice staff
No WiFi in the room, breakfast would have been good except the bacon was undercooked
Room we stayed in was recently refurbished, no problem there.
bar/restaurant areas uncomfortably cold, was like the Mary Celeste of hotels, with exception of front desk always had to play "hunt the staff".
The bed was exceedingly comfortable and I had room service breakfast that was delicious, hot and really good value for money!
The bed side light made a buzzing noise, but to be honest this wasn't really a problem but m the only negative thing I can think of!
Excellent friendly staff on reception and in the dining room Gluten free options for all meals Excellent service in all respects
Limited car parking
