Brilliant for walking around Nottingham city centre, wonderful veiw from bedroom window. Room service was quick and good value. Bathroom seemed a bit tired, toilet flush was difficult, and a few cracked tiles.

It is placed 100yds from the castle and 400yds from the very centre of the city. Unrepaired obvious damage to room and bathroom doors. The shower head was held by ball and socket fittings and was worn out so that it only hung straight down. It needed replacing . This room was an improvement from my last stay.

Close to centre. Good size rooms. Clean and comfy bedding and towels. Friendly staff. Breakfast. The orange juice and water was warm. Waited a long time for tea coffee and toast. Not much choice and butter was sliced and served on plates taht had been sat on the bar.

Very friendly, professional staff. Clean very well priced hotel central to all the night life / city centre Additional charges for car parking. Poor sign posting to the hotel, "Most sat nav's do not recognise the right end of the street when sending people here" Not sure if paying via the web site and then having to pay again at the hotel means I have been charged twice or just once - TBA

I was attending an event at the hotel conference centre which was my reason for wanting to stay at this hotel. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a comfortable reception area but I would say that other areas of the hotel have been subject to wear and tear and are in need of upgrading, Overall impression; the rooms are quite comfortable and the hotel location is central, ideal for a city break in Nottingham. Some rooms are subject to late night city centre noise - my room window would not close!

Good location, very friendly and efficient staff I stayed in a doudle room on my own and found the room small, the double bed was fine for one but if my partner had been with me would not have been able to sleep there. The decor was well past it with much need for updating

The look at it from the outside The reception staff were either foreign or very young and difficult to deal with and had no enthusiasm. The room needed updating and was very tatty. There was no headboard on the bed which was situated underneath a window against the wall. There were bits in the bed which had flown in through the window; not happy at all.

The hotel was central and it was easy to get to the city centre. I did not like the attitude of reception staff when I checked in. I did not like the size of the room (the bed took up 95% of the space), I did not like the restaurant area because of attitude of staff or more importantly the lack of staff. Communication by staff was poor. I felt the public areas were given the 'spick and span' attention but not the rooms.

The staff was very friendly and sorted any problems that we had quickly and efficiently and always with a smile, nothing seemed to be to much trouble. And the location. The noise external and internal.

Was comfortable and ok but a bit behind the times Was difficult to find as post code does not take you to the hotel on a sat nav. The maids were quite rude. No free Wi Fi, no iron and ironing board in room. The worst thing was that there was a hidden car park cost of £8.50 per night which didnt apply last time i stayed there a few months ago which added nearly £30 to my bill. I wouldnt stay there again

The location I've stayed at the Rutland Square Hotel before and the rooms were fine. This time however, the room I was allocated was in a poor state of repair, dirty and generally unsatisfactory.

Convenient for the Castle, the Trip to Jerusalem and the centre, with enough interesting pubs and restaurants around to entertain. One of the best bets in Nottingham. Modern and functional but with a splash of extras. Edwina Currie ruined egg cooking in Britain and in her wake included the Rutland breakfast chefs who appear to believe, mistakenly, that scambled eggs are light yellow in colour and deserve to be rubberised. Genetlemen, they should be orange and and cooked gently to within vague distabnce of solidifying.

The location was very good. It is close to railway stations, national express bus stations. It is just next to the nottingham castle and close to main shopping area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but we went to the dinning hall at 10am there was already not much hot food left (breakfast finishes at 10h30) If breakfast would end around 11am, that would be perfect

Booking through booking.com we thought we got a very good deal compared with the normal tariff. We liked the location as it was very central. The room looked pleasant and smelt fresh, we also liked the fact that we could open the window. The reception and bar staff were very efficient and helpful. The tv in the room was in good working order and had a good selection of chanels The room was very noisey ( both outside noise from the nearby bar and the aircom or heating system). The mattress was very worn with a definate dip in the middle. The shower head sprayed water against the back wall which was not protected by the shower curtain and so soaked the floor. The main thing we did not like was the fact that although breakfast finished at 10.30am there was very little left at 10.05 when we ate. There was no bacon or eggs or croissants or bread. I did ask a waitress for more but she said there was none left. I was pleased to see that the dining room was cleaned but did not appreciate this cleaning being completed during breakfast especially using a detergent spray

“The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The shower was great - really powerful. We had a lovely view as we were on the 11th floor. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to have our room until 3pm, at no extra cost, so that I could shower after running the 1/2 marathon. Breakfast was good.” Cynthia, St Albans |
