Really friendly and responsive staff
Myself and my wife thought the hotel was extremely nice , very clean , reception area and staff very accommodating , our room fresh and clean and bathroom more than adequate , thoroughly enjoyed our stay , we have regular little trips in England and will now try to find another of these hotels for our next stay !
Great location near Castle. Friendly staff and good service. Breakfast was great. Room and beds were very comfortable.
Shower was difficult to regulate. Either went freezing cold or unbearably hot in a matter of seconds. Such a shame because bathroom was super.
staff very good ,location excellent.all round good quailty
not able to open window ..only one key for the room
Nice breakfast buffet, room (Crash Pad) small but cosy, very nice designed lobby and bar / restaurant
no Wi-Fi in room, worked in the lobby but very slow
The room was big and had a beautiful view of the castle, very good location.
the overall look and feel of the hotel felt slightly outdated, and there was a hint of a cigarette smell somewhere.
Everthing,apart from the food.
The food was average I'm afraid,i had lasagne and it had a strange taste and texture to it.
Soft comfy bed
Tiny window and a very dark small room
This hotel is in an excellent location - right by the castle. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
It's not the hotels fault but we had really noisy neighbours, slamming doors, shouting all through the night. Yes we did complain but what guests do is up do them and the hotel staff can only do their job. Guests should be more thoughtful when they stay anywhere, the ones we had by us were a pain in the butt and we just hope that the staff had a word with them as we asked them to do.
Room was really nice and the general decor and ambience was good. Staff were helpful and frindly
Food options were very limited and the meals I did choose were awful and quite clearly just microwave meals with no real thought and attention which seemed at odds with the look of the hotel as it seemed very high end , Only other issue was my room was near the ground floor and was opposite what I would assume were student residences and they were having a party until the early hours .Oh and the WiFi was not working most of the evening and the log in I did get did not work and I could not be bothered to try and sort it again
Comfy bed Lovely decor of the room and great location.
First morning my breakfast was over cooked, even burnt.
Up graded to penthouse.awesome
Very good all round, location, staff, and single rooms are excellent.
Thought bar prices were a little excessive.
The sink didn't drain and it was way too hot overnight. Not a great sleep. To be honest, I'm not sure that I would recommend it.
Location staff clean
Silver paint is awful I n. corridors
First time travelling to Nottingham, and St James was a great experience. Lovely room. Great location. Staff were really nice and helpful (and we arrived later than expected) and we would definitely stay there again!
I have stayed here before when it was the Rutland Square hotel. The place was due for a spruce up. The décor was not exactly to my taste but it was clean and smart. The location is great and the staff were friendly and helpful. Liked the offer of a free glass of wine on the Saturday night.
Loud guest shouting upon their return at around 4am on the Sunday morning. Soundproofing is not brilliant so this was very noisy and woke me up. Pillows were a bit hard. the noise and the pillows is why I have only rated quality of sleep as fair.
Smart looking hotel, away from main roads so quiet, good location in city. I don't sleep well in single beds so the small double was perfect. staff always friendly.
bathroom had been designed by a fool, so no extractor fan, or maybe a broken one I guess as there was some sort of vent, and the toilet seat can't go up, which was bizarre. Breakfast was functional, lots available but quality of cooked breakfast was on the low side - for £8 though I was happy as some places charge double that.
Decor, White Company products in room, Complimentary bottle of champagne as a 40th birthday plus free glass of wine voucher for all guests.
Paid £8 each for breakfast to then have to pay an additional fee if you wanted anything other than contienental, a full English would have been an additional £10 each.
Bed was very comfy and would have slept well. The only reason I didn't was I had dinner in a nearby restaurant and then spent all night being ill! Will definitely stay here again
There was nothing that I didn't like
Everything was perfect. I stayed here for my hen night and it was a good location for the city
There was I didn't like
Great Bar serving lovely cocktails! Excellent Breakfast
The hotel was in a perfect part of Nottingham, stones throw from the castle. Rooms and service was lovely, dining and bar lounge was a really comfy place. I was in a twin bedroom by myself, so was luxury to me.
Just the outside noise. I like to sleep with the window open, but had to close them due to rowdy revellers. But you have to expect noise in a central town hotel.
The hotel theme was quirky and cool. Breakfast was delicious - good veggie options. Bar was lovely, great atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Can't think of anything!
Location and contemporary feel.
Toilet only flush once and took 15 mins before refilled to flush again. Staff did not deal with this effectively even though we complained twice.
