The people were very helpful the place was clean the food was good
Friendly welcome on arrival and at breakfast. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful garden. Riverside location. Very convenient for visitingto Wordsworth 's house. Old world atmosphere.
The bedrrom was very small. It should have been let as a single room. also the bedroom was on a corner so 2 outside walls walls and windows were very close to main road..-so the noise of passing traffic was disruptive which allied to an uncomfortable mattress did not make for a good nights sleep. Shame, as the place has lots of character.and friendly staff.
the overnight stay lived up to expectations.
Can't think of anything. By the way - avoid solid food at The Badger across the road.
The breakfast was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. Buffet table was also a delight. Location is out of this world, and pub down the road had badgers who came to feed!
Bedroom was small and the shower also. Understand refurbishment us in hand and is overdue.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Small bar/reception area - lovely black labrador greets you. Huge bed - huge bath - ensuite facilities excellent. Breakfast amazing (better than the Inn on the Lake breakfast which we had the next night) - so well done Rydal Lodge - highly recommended
nothing - everything was lovely
Lovely breakfast Helpful & friendly staff
No wifi in rooms
Breakfast very good, Very friendly atmosphere gardens excellent
Traffic noise could be an issue as on a main road and bed very hard prominent springs ?
housekeeping could of been better
Great service. Staff was very helpful.Location not far from derwent water, Keswick. The interiors were very well maintained and gave a very nice warm feel. Outdoor space was great . very serene. Parking space available which was a bonus. overall a good experience. Breakfast was really nice.
Rooms were slightly smaller than expected.
Location.Breakfast. Friendly staff.
Bathroom a bit compact.
Peace and quiet and beautiful scenery
Nothing at all
Polite and helpful owners. Lovely garden.
On a very busy road. Too much road noise and only single glazed windows. Very small room. New bathroom but very small. Shower suffered from very low water pressure.
There was little to fault in the whole place actually. A delightful country hotel with charm and personality. Shame it was only one night's stay.
if there was anything to point a finger at then perhaps the ensuite could be slightly larger though this would be nit-picking as the space available was used to the full and it wasn't a problem really.
Lovely hosts. Great breakfasts. Comfortable bed. Interesting building.
there were so many aspects that we liked that we can't prioritize which was best: location was unbelievable . On one of the busiest weeks of the years, the location remained quiet, but well located. Food terrific. Facilities very comfortable. Owners were perfect: available and very interesting, but not at all intrusive. Lots of history nearby and on these very grounds. Loved it!!
Our fault, I guess, but had I realized it, I would have booked a different room, with a slightly larger toilet. We could hardly bend over the sink without the door being left open. But, it was a small and amusing inconvenience.
age of the property and it's history knowledge of owner owner and his wife exceptionally friendly and helpful
Location, friendliness of staff, good breakfast
Nothing in particular
Innkeepers were welcoming & helpful. Made an effort and seemed to enjoy their business
breakfast, gardens, location
Location, staff, garden, food
no chair in bedroom (not that there would have been much room) and shower wouldn't hold firm
Location, gardens and help and advice were great
Noise from road
The very pleasant, welcoming greeting and general ambiance
A lovely comfortable stay. We were shown to our room by the owner,he explained the keys and lights, breakfast times etc. When we were going out that evening he asked if we needed a map or taxi numbers, which he gave us. I found there was a lot of ' attention to detail' and it made the stay better for it. There was a lovely little bar, which was well stocked, and a couple of lounges to chill out (if you wanted to) also a stunning garden. Breakfast was fantastic, and the muesli was one of the best I've had!! All in all a great price for a great hotel. Would recommend and would return
The corner room we stayed in had 2 large windows which were next to the road. so it was a little more noisy than we are used to, as we live up a quiet country lane, But certainly wouldn't put me off.
lovely hotel food first class room good size and comfortable After walking 1 mile the first night were told about the Badgers Bar just down the road, called so as they feed the Badgers around 21.30 brilliant
only b/b had to go to Ambleside for dinner and had to walk 1 mile back as the bus only goes along that road every 2 hrs after 18.30,
room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent
