Location.Breakfast. Friendly staff.
Bathroom a bit compact.
Peace and quiet and beautiful scenery
Nothing at all
Polite and helpful owners. Lovely garden.
On a very busy road. Too much road noise and only single glazed windows. Very small room. New bathroom but very small. Shower suffered from very low water pressure.
There was little to fault in the whole place actually. A delightful country hotel with charm and personality. Shame it was only one night's stay.
if there was anything to point a finger at then perhaps the ensuite could be slightly larger though this would be nit-picking as the space available was used to the full and it wasn't a problem really.
age of the property and it's history knowledge of owner owner and his wife exceptionally friendly and helpful
Location, friendliness of staff, good breakfast
Nothing in particular
Innkeepers were welcoming & helpful. Made an effort and seemed to enjoy their business
breakfast, gardens, location
Location, staff, garden, food
no chair in bedroom (not that there would have been much room) and shower wouldn't hold firm
Location, gardens and help and advice were great
Noise from road
The very pleasant, welcoming greeting and general ambiance
A lovely comfortable stay. We were shown to our room by the owner,he explained the keys and lights, breakfast times etc. When we were going out that evening he asked if we needed a map or taxi numbers, which he gave us. I found there was a lot of ' attention to detail' and it made the stay better for it. There was a lovely little bar, which was well stocked, and a couple of lounges to chill out (if you wanted to) also a stunning garden. Breakfast was fantastic, and the muesli was one of the best I've had!! All in all a great price for a great hotel. Would recommend and would return
The corner room we stayed in had 2 large windows which were next to the road. so it was a little more noisy than we are used to, as we live up a quiet country lane, But certainly wouldn't put me off.
lovely hotel food first class room good size and comfortable After walking 1 mile the first night were told about the Badgers Bar just down the road, called so as they feed the Badgers around 21.30 brilliant
only b/b had to go to Ambleside for dinner and had to walk 1 mile back as the bus only goes along that road every 2 hrs after 18.30,
room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent
Large room in nicely redone centuries old building. Lovely lawn and garden on a river. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Owners and staf were very helpful.
Road is noisy but not at night. Slept well.
The service. The tranquility of the garden by the stream and the fact that it is situated away from the hustle and bustle of the town.
I was not aware it was located on the road which meant some noise from cars during the night.
Once again lovely time had by us. Owners were pleasant and very helpful. Will definetly return
Friendly service, excellent breakfast, lovely rooms
Some road noise and difficult access to car park.
Lovely host. Very tranquil setting with well kept gardens running down to the rivers edge. Out door seating and tables provided.
Our room suffered a little from noise of passing traffic.
Facilities, friendliness, location, williness to help with anything - fantastic place to stay overall
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Flowery carpets, decor, furniture, and uncomfortable bed.
Fantastic couple that own and run the B&B, with a great setting by a small river with a nice garden and local pub nearby. Really cannot compliment the owners enough for making us feel welcome and homely. We would absolutely recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a quiet, secluded spot from which to explore Ambleside, Lake Windemere and the rest.
The towels were rather on the small side - that's it!
Very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast
Noisy because our room was facing busy main road though it quietened down late at night. Bed rather uncomfortable
Really friendly staff who were very accommodating to our need for an early breakfast. Thanks very much!
Great hospitality, dogs very welcome, breakfast was fabulous, handy having a little bar, lovely gardens to sit out in.
Ever so slightly outdated but work is in progress with the new owners to update facilities and this did not spoil our stay as our first priority was a dog friendly place to stay.
