Warm welcome from the owners. Lovely breakfast. Clean cosy room
My husband and I are used to a memory foam mattress so did not find the bed particularly comfortable
Location Friendliness of staff/owners
Bathroom absolutely tiny Curtains and window cushions dirty Price
Spotless, welcoming bit of lakes luxury, warm and inviting, great central location
staff were excellent, friendly and very very nice.
bed and not havin en suite.
There was nothing to dislike
Snug lounge with log fire. Location. Friendliness of staff
En suite was small and tired looking
Central location for the Lakes made an ideal choice
Difficulty of access for an old person - we managed!
Location for walking
Noisy road and beds pretty solid but comfortable apart from that
Very pleasant and helpful owners. Excellent breakfast served in vey nice dining room.
Our particular room is due for refurbishment, which should be happening soon.
The kindly owner.
The hotel being situated on a very busy road.
The noise from the busy road outside. Misleading photo on the hotel website of the dining room set for dinner which they don't serve. It is a B & B, not a hotel.
Staff / owners could not be more helpful or friendly Free bottles of mineral water given when you go for a walk! Very nice breakfast Lovely atmosphere
The hotel is in the perfect location to access Windermere, Grasmere and Ambleside with a bus stop directly outside. Set in beautiful surroundings you have access to the hotel gardens. Breakfast was included and was lovely - choice of cereals etc or full english alongside juices, tea or coffee. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room that were fully stocked upon arrival. Very friendly staff!
Possibly the friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever encountered in a B&B
The house feels ever so slightly dated but it is being updated.
Couldn't sleep as traffic noise so bad. Shower room was no bigger than a broom cupboard (no space to even hang a towel) so could not shower.
The care taken to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
The people were very helpful the place was clean the food was good
Friendly welcome on arrival and at breakfast. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful garden. Riverside location. Very convenient for visitingto Wordsworth 's house. Old world atmosphere.
The bedrrom was very small. It should have been let as a single room. also the bedroom was on a corner so 2 outside walls walls and windows were very close to main road..-so the noise of passing traffic was disruptive which allied to an uncomfortable mattress did not make for a good nights sleep. Shame, as the place has lots of character.and friendly staff.
the overnight stay lived up to expectations.
Can't think of anything. By the way - avoid solid food at The Badger across the road.
The breakfast was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. Buffet table was also a delight. Location is out of this world, and pub down the road had badgers who came to feed!
Bedroom was small and the shower also. Understand refurbishment us in hand and is overdue.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Small bar/reception area - lovely black labrador greets you. Huge bed - huge bath - ensuite facilities excellent. Breakfast amazing (better than the Inn on the Lake breakfast which we had the next night) - so well done Rydal Lodge - highly recommended
nothing - everything was lovely
Lovely breakfast Helpful & friendly staff
No wifi in rooms
Breakfast very good, Very friendly atmosphere gardens excellent
Traffic noise could be an issue as on a main road and bed very hard prominent springs ?
housekeeping could of been better
