The location is excellent as it is very close to the beach to the railway and bus stations also the passenger ferry terminal and very close to the main shopping street. Its location is ideal for those who wish to explore the island and all the various delights that the island has to offer, either by car or public transport. The hotel is in need of money spending on it in terms of redecoration which I understand is in the early stages of planning. I would welcome a revisit to see what improvements may ensue.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and I didn'thave cleaners letting themselves into the room in the morning like I have experienced in other hotels. I chose Ryde as it was the most expensive hotel so i expected it would be a much higher standard than other hotels.......it wasn't. I would have got the same from a hotel half the price. breakfast was ok on saturday and sunday..the busy days..but monday was rubbish, not just the food but also the service. Most of the tables were reserved but the whole time i was there no one sat at any of the tables. The tables were not cleared also so it was hard to find a seat, reserved or full of dirty plates

staff were excellent- very friendly and helpful. breakfasts very good except for one morning when they had no brown toast, no sausages and no ham. this improved by the next day. we were disappointed with the room we were given on arrival, but after speaking to reception we were changed to the honeymoon suite the following night which had a four poster bed. all beds are extremely comfortable!!. the location was perfect- we had a fantastic view of the Spinacle at Portsmouth from our bedroom window and we could watch the hovercraft coming in and out of Ryde. all in all a good value and enjoyable break. needs a bit of TLC as some parts are looking a little tired, but as a budget hotel very good

It is a comfortable hotel, offering good food at resonable prices and a helpful friendly staff. The breakfast was good. The rooms were clean, spacious and warm. The hotel is situated right on the seafront with views across the solent and Ryde is a lovely seaside resort. The decor in the rooms is looking a little tired and could do with re-freshing. There was no lounge area, as such, just a couple of sofas in the bar.

Lovely looking on the outside, and downstairs looks lovely. Its in a good location on the seafront and close to all the things you need. The rooms are OK, comfy bed and i like that all the rooms have different names. The hotel has character and isnt just a bog standard hotel where everything is generic. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere. The windows werent brilliant and had lots of condensation on them, because there are double layer windows. Other than that was good!

Very close to the hovercraft and bus station, they allowed us to check in early which was very convenient for us. Only 2 plugs in the room which were used to the kettle and tv which was very inconvenient

Close to sea and town, staff were friendly food was generally good, a little confusion at breakfast with our order, but that was ok, service was good? Room was lovely and warm Its a little tired looking, and could do with a little money spent on tidying up of silly things that let it down, but I would go back and stay there

Friendly staff, clean room, nice location. Breakfast was very good. The shower in my room (14) was almost useless: water trickled out. As I only stayed one night, wasn't a major issue however.

Our room was lovely, with seaview. The location is excellent, close to the sea, 5 minute walk to the harbour/train/bus. The castle is looks really nice, the food was excellent and breakfast staff was very attentive When we ordered drinks they didn't have most of the advertised christmas special drinks and the same happened again with the food. The guy who checked us in didn't seem to keen on checking us in.
