Great location for a concert at the Albert Hall and mooching around the museums. Room was on the small side, but hey this is London. However the room was very well appointed and comfortable, plus the decor was fresh and modern. Room was on the 3rd floor at the rear and was very quiet. Would stay again. Nothing apart from the room size, but like I said you don't expect much else in London.

Very professional, helpful and attentive staff. Rooms were really stylish and very clean. Breakfast is cheaper if you book in advance which made it better value for money.

Our room was very clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect being very near to Gloucester Road tube station. Close to good restaurants, cafes and shopping. Good value for money. Our room was lower ground floor (basement) and we didn;t like the lack of natural light. The room had obviously recently been refurbished and there was a very strong and unpleasant smell of paint along the corridor and especially in the bedroom.

Hotel is located in a very good part of the city. Its very close to a Underground/Public train station. The rate for this hotel is fair as compared to others in Central London (only if you book early). The Standard Single room is very very small. No space to walk. Bathroom very small. I would definitely opt for the queen next time.

The room was very well appointed with tv, iron and ironing board, coffee maker and kettle.A Mini-bar was available. Very comfortable bed and chairs. All mirrors and taps etc were absolutley sparkling. Great location with Gloucester Road station 2 minutes walk and a bus stop for route 49 ditrectly outside the hotel. We were visiting the Royal Albert Hall - only a 10 minute walk away. The greeting was somewhat matter of fact and although I had prepaid for our stay, I did not receive my receipt until we were leaving. The shower room / toilet only had one door seperating you from the room and had no extractor fan. There was no toilet brush available. The room was very small and not much room to turn around, although cleanliness was absolutley brilliant. Stiil lets face it - you don't spend a lot of time there. Breakfast was ridiculously expensive, local cafes offerred a more affordable option.

checkedin, given rooms in the "lower ground floor" -actually the basement. Rooms damp, dark and smelly. Insisted we were moved (hotel practically empty) and were charged a "discountd £20 for an "upgrade" to a king room -in which you had better not try swinging a cat!! Avoid this hotel at all costs -refurbished or not!

Location very good, staff friendly First time ever we stayed in a room with a fake window i.e. room was situated in basement. Disappointing! Probably quite alright place to stay if you live in some other floor. Room was clean but wallpapers and bath room tabs should have been renewed 10 years ago.

bathroom utilities remember Queen Victoria, and seem to be cleaned before the war. It is impossible to use air-con or heating because of noise. Room was dirty, and mould present in bath. Two separate taps (one for cold, the other for hot water). Escape !

We were looking forward to breakfast but having arrived late, got the impression we should not choose the full English which we did not but there was no porridge on offer which there had been on a previous occasion. I was disappointed with the standard of decor as we had stayed before but there is evidence of refurbishment going on so perhaps they are already addressing this. I thought it was expensive for 3 people to stay and had I realised would have asked for a double with an extra bed which would have been cheaper.

The boxiness of the room. It was tiny. When I arrived, there was pub-like shouting going on in the bar, a football game I think. In the morning I had a note through my door telling me that there's no hot water due to a problem.

The reception staff were very helpful, recommended restaurants, gave directions and were very polite! In a room near to us someone was smoking and the smell filtered to our room! For an executive room it was rather small!

Overall value, overall service and absolute excellent proximity to the subway station. Horrible 'trendy' bathroom shower design - hard to keep the rest of the bathroom dry as only half of the shower stall is enclosed.

The convienience of the tube is a 1 minute walk away, the decor of the hotel was of a good quality especially as we stayed around Christmas time the common areas were decorated tastefully. On the website for the hotel it said there were gym facilities, however on requesting the use of such facilities I was surprised to be directed to a fitness first 5minutes down the road and have to pay five pound to use the faciltiies. The website was misleading I thought the facilities were on site and part of the price for the night as it stated 'the hotel has also updated the gymnasium facilities.' As part of their refurb. When having breakfast in the morning the service was quite poor, we had to wait 15minutes for a menu, and only receiving one when asking. We were asked if we wanted toast to which we replied yes, however our waiter was very pre-occupied chatting with another family of the same nationaility and completly forgot our toast and had to be reminded again, by which point we had finished eating our breakfast. We observed the menu situation happened to another couple whilst we were waitig for our breakfast, having to wait a prolonged period of time to even be offered one and then having to seek out a member of staff to actually obtain one.
