The hotel is in an excellent location and our room was quiet, it was good to have car parking. We enjoyed our breakfast which was cooked to order and the staff were very friendly.
The décor is rather dated and our bed, although large, was creaky when we moved, so it affected our sleep.
A very comfortable bed.
Nice big room comfortable room with balcony. - charming staff.
This hotel does not serve dinner. The room service finishes at 7 p.m. A logistic nightmare to go out to eat in the evening for someone who can only walk a few steps. No lifts for disabled persons.
The staff team who tried hard to meet all our needs. On site car park a definite advantage. Swimming pool very welcome.
The breakfast could be improved.
it was lovely loved the room and the swimming poor
wasnt anything to dislike
Great location right in the centre of Rye. Peaceful night's sleep & good facilities in room - tea/coffee, tv & hot/strong shower. Full of charm & character.
Spa bath in Venetian leisure centre was a little cold.
Beautiful location, not far from London so really easy for a quick break. Hotel was fantastic. Decor was lovely, clearly had been well thought out and lovingly and painstakingly undertaken. Everything just made you want to relax the whole time! Wonderful!
Excellent location, welcoming, friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable room and marvellous breakfast (charming staff here too). Car park also very conveniently located. Guests with mobility difficulties might miss the absence of a lift subject to room location.
House keeping a little lacking in care and attention - Making up room seemed optional as opposed to standard practice and staff lacked enthusiasm when we said we wanted room done. 2nd night it was partially done and third night some essentials in short supply.
Room, Bed and Breakfast very good. Perhaps if we had booked a classic/superior deluxe room rather than standard room we would have enjoyed our stay more. Enjoyed Rye - wished we were fitter!
No evening meal facility in hotel. Breakfast excellent but insufficient staff. Young girl worked extremely hard. Waiting time for table at breakfast could be improved with more staff. You have to be fit if visiting Rye - lots of hills - perhaps too many for senior people.
Nice room Only hotel in Rye with a pool and parking Champagne service Great, friendly staff Excellent location
Somewhat "squeaky" bed Pool, hot tub and sauna are nice but quite small
swimming pool was lovely
rather small bedroom
staff, nothing too much trouble
Family-run hotel in good location, close to Rye town centre and a good base for exploring the area. My room was very comfortable and clean, quiet at night, leading to good quality sleep. Very pleasant traditional English breakfast. Large car park (to find the entrance you really need the map available at reception). Friendly, helpful staff.
Shower was rather small.
great location and friendly staff
terrible wi-fi reception, I had to work a little over the weekend and it was difficult most of the time to get my emails through.
I stayed just one night in The Rye Lodge Hotel, but I was very impressed by the hospitality of staff: they made everything so that my short stay to be as pleasant as possible. The room was very comfortable and also very nice decorated: an old fashioned but yet very attractive style. The location is perfect: you can reach out to each corner of the town very easily, but it still remains very quiet during night. Having in mind all of the above, I consider that this hotel is offering a great value for the money.
Excellent value for the money. The facilities are great and the staff is more than friendly. They even went the extra-mile and provided me with a full description of the most important things that need to be visited in this area. Free wireless internet that works great.
There is nothing that I could complain about.
the location and the size of the room.
there was no evening dining option.
Hotel location in town is excellent. Car parking very good. Free Wi-Fi excellent. Have stayed here before and will use in future.
Room good very small bathroom/shower.
The decor is very elegant, as are the rooms, all named after different French wine regions; the champagne bar is equally elegant, and the underground pool was very relaxing
A few fixtures such as lightbulbs and the sauna were not working on the day I stayed, but no big deal, otherwise I would have told someone at the time
Spa Pool and Venetian Room Very clean and housekeeping immaculate.
The noise all night from some kind of air con or compressor coming on and off all night.Probably only heard from our room.Short staffed at breakfast time.Felt really sorry for breakfast waitress who didn't remember what I had ordered However all well in the end.
Good building,good location
The double room was a bit cramped for two people. Shower was tiny, wash basin was almost non existent
Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff
Fantastic room and the hotel was nicely situated in town. It had a lovely atmosphere and great friendly, welcoming staff.
the facilities in the room were great; the staff were friendly; it was a bit quirky and proper, but we liked it
a bit difficult carrying suitcases up stairways and along little corridors, but that's what you get when you stay in an old building.
