The antiques shops and lovely pubs and restaurants. The gentleman on reception was great. Breakfast was very expensive we thought it was included.

Encouraged to relax by offer of room service at no extra charge. Breakfast was excellent and much better taken at a leisurely pace in our own room. Upgraded on arrival which was a welcome bonus.

Staff was amazingly helpful. Sauna was enjoyable to use. Walls were incredibly thin and neighbors a bit noisy. Pool was very cool.

The staff were very friendly, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast not being included, and the price of it. Also found the shower difficult to work - we're still not sure how we managed to sort the temperature to the right one!

The staff were very pleasant and courteous. I think the room rate was a little expensive considering breakfast was not included. The decor is looking a little dated.

We stayed at Rye Lodge about 12 years ago and we found it to be little changed, in other words, very comfortable and a perfect location for wandering around the town. The staff were very helpful and the room was very spacious and light and the bathroom well equipped with luxuries. We found some good places forf eating (The Mermaid) and The George and there is an abundance of cafes for breakfasts. We felt the Venetian leisure area needed to be updated in terms of decoration and the swimming pool and jacuzi could do with being warmer!

It was comfortable, although the breakfasts were expensive for what they were. Also It was expensive generally for a room only and we stayed 3 nights so maybe a deal on the 3rd night may have been a good idea. The location however was great. The spa was looking tired around the edges and the sauna was not on for both Friday and Saturday.

Location was excellent and the staff wee friendly. Parking on site was useful. It was disappointing that breakfast wasn't included in the price which made it expensive. The room was small and the bathroom light didn't work

The bed was very comfy and the room was clean. We got what we expected so were not ecstatic or devastated. It was a very pleasant weekend. It was a pity that window boxes and troughs at the back of the building on the terraces of the downstairs rooms had not been tended giving a scruffy appearance - and dandelions in seed! Our television had three channels tuned to the same SKY station. They did offer to change the TV, which we appreciated, but it was not worth the hassle.

Everything fine except suggestion below your mature man acting as waiter and showing to room etc was great and very amusing - we enjoyed his service Given how nice this place was - the terracing at back of room was poor - not swept, garden chairs not clean and all the garden pots not cared for and became places for at best weeds and at worse cigarette butts - you need a gardener for a couple of hours a week so not a big job it all needs some tlc and then come up to the excellent standard of the hotel in general - hope this helps

“I greatly enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of the staff, who were both prompt, courteous and obviously skilled at their profession. I was able to book a taxi for my journey to the station even though it is a relatively short distance, but I had a number of bags (the fare was £5.60) for future information for other travellers and the driver was most pleasant, particularly having to navigate the cobbles. The purpose of my stay was to attend a Friends Day at Great Dixter House & Garden. I look forward to a return stay in the near future to further explore Rye and its delightful surroundings.” Doreen, Moreton |

“It is a fantastic historical building that is beautifully maintained. The staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel bar has a wonderful atmosphere and was very cosy on a damp drizzly evening. The restaurant food was excellent and breakfast too was great.” Suzanne, Chislehurst |
