Very good,
Score from 79 reviews
“ Attentive, friendly and very helpful staff. Everyone was cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were wonderfully furnished - this old Georgian hotel has chandeliers, comfy beds, pale pinks and greens throughout - it was lovely in comparison to some of the cold, minimalist designs. We really enjoyed our trip! ”

VEry good location. Breakfast was not included, it was to be £7.50 extra, however at the check out it turned out that if one ordered cooked breakfast (which we did on the first morning), the charge was double (over £14). We weren't informed about that at the time, only when we were checking out - whcih was apalling! The cooked breakfast wasn't nice, so luckily we didn't order it again (not even knowing about the double charge at teh time), and definetely it wasn's £14 breakfast. Very disappointing.

Classy but not stuffy. Comfortable but not staid. Attentive but unobtrusive staff. Central to all Rye action, but peaceful. What's not to like?

it was a lovely hotel with great friendly helpful staff. Nice rooms a little outdated but still delightful and comfy, nice bathrooms. we were on a honeymoon and had been upgraded which was a really nice thing. Great location too Maybe slightly overpriced The pool was really cold, too cold for me to want to swim in and i actually like outdoor swimming but because this was a spa and pool i was wanting to relax in it which i couldnt. Breakfast a little pricey compared to local cafes, but understandable for a hotel rate i guess.

The hotel was adequate in every way. No more no less. I was suprised to find that our bath had no plug, I was also a little annoyed that the pool was freezing and other facilities in that area seemed to be out of order too.

The decor. Very clean. Well heated and instant hot water. The little extra like the bathrobes. Run out of the slippers. A slightly strange smell in the room ( 3).

The extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The link between local restaurants and the hotel was a good compromise that overcame the problem of having no restaurant facilities for dinner.

The touches of crystal glass, cups, saucers and teapot in the room. Room was too hot as over the boiler and we weren't provided with complimentary slippers. We were disappointed there wasn't a mini bar as described in the details.

Solid old fashion values, attentive staff. Felt the rooms were overpriced. I stayed in a superior deluxe at £175.00 per night excluding breakfast. I have paid less than this staying in London and other towns /cities in rooms of comparable size and facility.
