The place is old and in need of repair. The food was bad; I believe everything we had was microwaved. |

Friendly, welcoming staff. Meals were good and reasonably priced. Breakfast freshly cooked. Hotel in a lovely village with walks, and a couple of other pubs . Would have prefered a pot of coffee at the table for breakfast, rather than the big jug of filtered coffee. Everything else was lovely |

The Hotel was quiet and homely, with a relaxed atmosphere. I loved the dining room, as it was bright and very fresh looking. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't like the fact that my room did not have a ceiling light in the middle of the room. There were only lamps at each side of the bed. I like bright lighting, and as I needed to mend something I had to do it in the bathroom, which was a bit brighter. |

Staff were exceptional, the food is fantastic, the hotel was very comfortable and a joy to stay at, in responce to the comments about small bathrooms made by others, this may well be the case but everything else more than makes up for it and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would much rather stay here than a large chain hotel with a big bathroom. |

Lovely building. Very friendly welcome. Quiet and easy to access. Close to venue for my work the following day. Staff very helpful and keen to ensure that I had everything I might need. Breakfast and evening meal both very good, and service excellent. "Sanitised" label on lavatory - they obviously take cleanliness very seriously. No bath in room. Shower fine. Space very limited in bathroom between lavatory and wash basin - fortunately I am slim but could be very tight squeeze for some people. |

Very friendly and efficient staff, good food and location in pretty village within east reach of Newcastle. Bedroom ok but very cold on arrival as heating only on for limited periods. Bathroom very cramped and old fashioned with shower that didn't want to cool down! |
