We booked an overnight stay as we were attending a Wedding in the nearby area. The owners and staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast and service were excellent and my husband and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others or to stay there again if necessary. There was nothing we did not like about it.

Staff were very helpful, location was very good for our purpose. Food and breakfast were good with dinner excellent for quality and value. You certainly do not have to go out for dinner. The room was decent but cramped. The bed did not sleep very well and the bathroom was tiny. It could be graded as only ok.

We use this hotel because of its location as we spend the weekend with friends who live on the housing estate opposite. Also, the hotel is to a high standard, the staff are always friendly and we never have any problems. The breakfat is alway excellent as well. We therefore have no hesitation in staying here every time we visit Newcastle.

It's a five minute walk away from my family. It's small and makes a fair breakfast. The staff were helpful and overall it was a pleasant stay. The bathrooms could do with refurbishing and the bed probably needs a new mattress.

Not much to say as only slept there and had breakfast. Chose it because it was five minutes walk from family. Best point was lovely big thick bath towels. Second was convenience of plugs for hairdryer near mirror and for charging phone, etc. No light in entrance hall (or if there was, could not locate the switch) so difficult when getting in after dark. Bathroom was far from spotless, spider and web there for the three days, grime along rims on floor round bath. No new loo roll on arrival in room. Could feel springs of mattress through undersheet. Breakfast service finished too early for our liking 9.30 weekends, 9 in week. Too early when on holiday. We were made to feel we were being a nuisance whereas all we wanted was decent hotel service. That said, the personnel were polite and reasonably obliging and we did not think it was worth complaining as nothing could be done about any of these niggles. Not good value for money.

Excellent friendly staff and service. Food high standard. Quiet at night unlike a lot of hotels in and near Newcastle. Bar closes very early (10.30) meaning you cannot have a nightcap if you come in later although if you ask the barman before you go out, he will leave a drink in your room before he closes for the night.

The food was nice The price of the room £68/night was overpriced & it was not worth the money as the bathroom was small as you couldnt wash your face in the sink properly, the toilet had almost been put in as an after thought as it was squeezed in & if you were a large person you would have struggled to fit in. The shower cubicle had hair in it & the shower itself was like a light dribble & I wasnt able to wash my hair as the shower wasnt powerful enough as it only just managed to clear the shower gel off me. The bed is the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on as I woke up both mornings with a bad back & I did not have a constant nights sleep due to the hardness of the bed. My overall opinion of the hotel is that it was overpriced & I was totally unimpressed & would not go back or recommend anyone to stay there

Very friendly and obliging staff. The food was excellent (evening meal and breakfast.) Nice setting and very welcoming feel. The bedroom was clean overall but parts of the room were dusty and the mattresses had seen better days and weren't that comfortable. The only exception to the great food was the breakfast sausage.

The Hotel was convenient for where I was working at the time. Not a complaint but the Hotel is looking a little tiered , but I do appreciate these are not good times and as the Town itself is looking a little "unloved " I am sure it is a big ask to invest further funds to try and attract more people to this area . Having said that the Hotel is good value for the money and the staff were very nice and accomodating .
