hotel set in beautiful village with listed buildings, lovely old church, St. Mary's, and pretty places to walk in countryside. Enjoyed both breakfast and evening meals. car parking not explained to me upon arrival. I found out later, when I returned before 9 p.m., that the entrance to the residents' private parking was already locked. I was told that the reason for this was because it was not a busy night at the bar, the staff had locked up gone home early.

The hotel was good value for money and the breakfast was good The hotel bar closed at 10:30 even though the welcome booklet said it would be open until 11, before we had finished our drinks the lights were turned off and we were asked to take them to our rooms. Other residents were turned away also.

Value for money, nice breakfast and secure car parking The hotel description sounds like it is a grand Hotel in the middle of acres of land when it is in fact in a residential area. This is not a bad thing because it is nice and quiet but you might be a little disappointed if you are expecting something grand

It was perfect for our family weekend trip to the North East. Only minutes from the metro centre for shopping. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. The breakfasts were excellent quality and quantity, set us up for the day. Would certainly choose to stay again. Parking can be a little bit tight if hotel is busy but not really an issue.

Very friendly owner / staff Excellent Breakfast Room was VERY dusty, in corners, cobwebs ROOM 8. Bathroom - mould not cleaned properly around bath taps and plug hold had mould on (where comes from the side of bath- where chain should hang- but was broken off. Plugs - in order to plug kettle / hair-dryer etc in, had to take something out if had TV on- need more plug access. Noise - we were above the bar I think ? - quite a bit of noise on the sat night up to after 12.

I have stayed at the Hotel before. I travelled up from London to meet up with old schoolfriends for the night. We met up in the hotel bar for drinks and then on to Newcastle. Our room was lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely full english breakfast on Sunday morning with was greeted by very friendly helpful staff.

I cant express how pleased I was with everything to do with Ryton Country House Hotel, the staff were superb, the meals were excellent, the room was very comfortable, I am not being bias because I originate from Gateshead, but Ryton Country House Hotel is a credit to the people who run it and the surroundings are excellent, well done all of you. Iwouldnt hesitate in booking my next north east stay here. Not one single thing
