great staff, place, atmosphere, bar etc.
no lockers in rooms, no shelves, no cabinets etc. coeducational rooms (I was not informed!!!!)
Clean and Relatively Private for the money.
Too Much noise from other travellers
Match the money
-Everything was completely clean and fresh -gorgeous decour -great facilities, the lounge and outside area were gorgeous -felt very safe
Clean and beautiful facility, with good security measures and good position.
The staff is made of nice fellows that don't know how to properly treat the customers; in-room bathrooms are not clean enough (there was pee stink inside the shower room and a mass of hairs entangled in the shower drain); the breakfast is pathetic and the in-house bar offers lame food at outrageous prices (for its quality), the wi-fi signal is very poor and there is always loud music even in the morning, which is disturbing the customers who just move in to use their notebook, to read and for other quiet activities. Oh, and sleeping has been terrible because of plenty of people snoring like tractors. But at least this is not SE&C 's fault. For sure, I will NEVER come back here again unless I will be desperate and in short of money.
Its almost like a hotel, the hostal is well kept, modern and at the top end of budget traveller market. I would recommend safestay for sure.
Just a couple of things, I was surprised that tbere was a queue to go in for breakfast in the mornings. The 2 point which is out of the management control is I had a couple share the bed above me which left me with little sleep due to their noises!!!
The area surrounding it and the tube station's realtive nearness.
The staffs are really snobbish, unkind, like talking to an intercom the whole time - they might as well be automated, actually. Robots or machines would be better. Granted, there is one or two really excellent ones, kind and humane. Please, for the sake of those kind staffs, they deserve better colleagues.
very clean and tidy. outside garden. good freindly staff. good mixture of cultures and age.
Great location(28 min by foot from London Bridge!), incredible helpful staff, good facilities.
A little bit noisy during the night because it is on a big street
stuff was extremely nice and the hole hostel is cozy. cant expect more for that price- thats for sure.
Although situated in a reputedly dodgy area, the hostel itself is perfectly safe, and you can always avoid risks by travelling to the location from Waterloo station by bus, which stops directly accross from the entrance.
Cannot think of anything. The place is great! ))
Value for money, cleanliness and security.
Cramped shower rooms / toilet facilities.
Privacy of beds with curtains Big lockers Location is convenient to city centre Good price Very quiet Wifi is decent
Shower were rather cramped. Breakfast is early in the morning Check out time is strictly 10am
A really great and fun hostel. Its an hour walk from the city center and even less time on the tube. The staff are funny, helpful and really nice. It was really clean and a great modern designed hostel. You get your moneys worth here!
Not having wifi in the rooms was a bit of an inconvenience. Also not having a kitchen where you could cook your own food would have been better.
-Breakfast was alright. -Bathroom just for our shared room. -Good location. -Bunk-beds had curtains and a small lamp so you could read without disturbing other guests.
-Beds were a bit creaky. -I guess there was no internet on the rooms, just on the bar and like that but I don't really travel with much that would need it so that didn't bother me at all.
Close to the centre
Dirty, unpleasant staff, very noisy, would not stay again here.
even though our room was on a the high street we slept good. Very clean and we'll managed and the common areas were very nice and clean and comfortable. Will stay there again for sure.
It could not have been better.
Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean. Loved having the curtains around the bed, made you feel like you had your own space and privacy. Breakfast was good, not fancy or lots of choice but all you needed. I felt safe enough in the neighbourhood but heard different opinions from locals.
They cater to a lot of groups of school kids who take over the lounge area. The Internet only works in the bar area.
Design, Food, Facilities
Wi-Fi signal only in the launge
Privacy curtains and light on each bed Storage boxes underneath of each bed
Sharing toilet and shower rooms were dirty.! They should clean those places more often.!
Excellent place, I've never seen such a clean hostel before! There you are not afraid to walk barefoot in a room which is usually not the case in other hostels. Also one more good thing was a bed: it's wide, high (you can sit with a straight back even on a bottom bunk) and most importantly stable so you can sleep well without feeling every movement of your neighbour. Liked it and recommend it!
The breakfast was a bit limited however what do you expect from a hostel? Cereals, croissants, toasts with spreads, hot drinks, an apple - enough to start the day nicely!
This hostel is quite new, has comfotable beds, clean washrooms and very nice breakfasts that come with the room price. There is a bus stop right outside the door ans restaurants nearby.
It was a little confusing to find, make sure you ask for the hostel stop, not just elphant & castle stop because that's also the name of the metro station. Bring towels, and personal items unless you want to pay for them. bring earplugs if street noise in summer bothers you.
