a little slow serving breakfast
Breakfast took nearly an hour, we had coffee first then toast which was cold by the time our breakfast arrived, it was too long a wait.
On entering our room we realised it had not been cleaned – still dirty cups/bedding/towels from the previous occupants. How inept are you if you forget to clean one of your rooms when you only have eight! (They were fully booked that day so it is not as if they cleaned the wrong room). Not a good start. If you are wondering – we arrived well after the stated check in time. If you have trouble with stairs – this is not the hotel for you – we don’t usually have an issue with stairs but 3 flights of steep stairs with a narrow tread carrying bags is only for the very young, fit, and sure footed. The soundproofing is pathetic – the people in the next room may as well have been sharing our room. On the up side I didn't have to get out of bed or even raise my voice to tell them to stop their child singing the same song over and over. The TV signal was very poor – we were unable to watch it due to the constant interference. The following morning it was better – very dependent on weather conditions. Again on the up side you can play a game we invented called ‘guess what the reporter is saying’ sometimes much more entertaining than the actual news. The room was small, made worse by a roof beam running across the bed which meant ducking down to get in and out of bed. If you need to get up during the night this is an accident waiting to happen. I can’t comment on their normal standards of cleanliness because our room was cleaned in such a hurry, but certainly our shower would have benefited from some mould removal around the outer edges. I can confirm, from the smell that we had to put up with for hours, they are not sparing on the bleach. The heating was inadequate for the room and bathroom, this was by no means the coldest day of the year, we turned the radiator up to full power but the room was still cold.
WIFI is intermittent - not unusual in Tenby.
Our 4 poster room was big, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Great location, couldn't be closer to town. We will be back!
This hotel is in an excellent location for the centre of Tenby, a few minutes walk from all the attractions.
We stayed with a 9 month old baby and despite us being the only people staying at this hotel, this night, we were given the smallest room which couldn't even accommodate a cot. We had to sleep with our baby in the bed with us, so we basically had no sleep. Surely giving us a bigger room would have been good customer service and probably cost the hotel nothing more, especially as the hotel was completely empty.
Friendliness of the staff
Friendly attentive people excellant situation and breakfast very pet friendly
I generally prefer on site parking however there is a large pay and display car park immediately next door which makes life easy but at a cost
Clean, comfortable hotel, helpful & friendly staff, ideal location, everything we needed.
Nicely functional hotel very pleasant owners and staff !
No coat hooks in our room, for a damp Mac.
I stayed here to visit my son before Christmas and found it to be very friendly and helpful. They managed to find me a room with a bath even though it wasn't the one I had booked. Our was also very good value. I had the late deal at just under £70 including a breakfast. Recommended.
The location of the hotel
Location, friendly staff.
Difficulty shutting shower/toilet door tight.
Great breakfast, welcoming and chatty staff. Additional tea and coffee in rooms, good quality hot chocolate. Relaxing break we thoroughly enjoyed!
Feel we missed out on the 1940's cafe attached, didn't realise until last day. Not enough advertising. Consider putting info in room, we would have visited!
Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Staff very helpful.
The bed was to small I should have asked for bigger one when booking
location, quaintness of building, also quiet, good .
staff not very friendly, but not rude either. Slow serving breakfast which was good. Didn't use Wi-Fi. At end of season so not many people there even tho it was Halloween. convoluted maze of passages to get to room, but we did it . Narrow stairs, turnings to negotiate so not recommended for those with walking problems. We did enjoy our stay regardless of issues!
Probably couldn't get a better located hotel 2 minute walk to town centre and sea front staff very polite and rooms very comfortable and clean breakfast was very nice and hot, will stay here again
There was a problem with the plumbing and you could smell this in the bedroom and passageway which was not very nice.
near sea, shops. staff very friendly. great breakfast, reasonable priced
had to check in by 9.30pm which was a bit difficult for me.
Location of hotel. Breakfast very good. right next door to a car park that you could park your car for 24 hours for £7.00
Decor was poor, stains on sheets. Toilet not cleaned very well on the outside. Whole room was quite shabby. Biggest problem was the strong odour of wet pets in bar and foyer. we would not have stayed here if we knew it allowed dogs into the bar area which was directly next door to the restaurant ...because of the unpleasant odour we did not dine at the hotel in the evening.
SLIGHT SMELL OF DRAINS OUTSIDE ROOM. OLD CUPBOARD IN ROOM VERY SMELLY,YOU WOULNT HANG YOUR CLOTHES IN IT AS THEY WOULD SMELL.
Location was great and breakfast was one of the best we've had.
No parking and very small twin bedroom. Difficulty getting past the bed and wardrobe to get to bathroom. The bedside light was left unplugged, so had to move the furniture around in a small space to get behind the bed.
Location , pleasant staff
Very small room with tiny window that looked out on to a wall , Clostraphobic .
Room was perfect big bathroom separate bedroom for little lad. Good breakfast, and very helpful staff. Perfect for town also.
Close to town
Young staff did not have a clue what to do turned up for 2pm check in and had to wait till 3pm for room. Shower just dribbled out seemed like mouldy patches on pillow. Breakfast was made with cheap ingredients. Worst ive tasted for a long time. Had Id seen the owner or anyone of authority I would of complained but just kids who did not have a clue and quite frankly couldnt really care. No doubt the owner will read this review and like many others will choose to ignore it, so ive decided to contact booking.com to advise them of the poor quality of sevice, room, food... we had for £85:00 and hopefully this review will help fellow travellers from wasting £85:00. I do look forward to hearing from the owner but not holding my breath,.
