In Edinburgh city centre, less than 500 metres from Haymarket Rail Station, this modern hotel offers great value, with modern family-friendly en suite rooms and a restaurant-bar.

Staff were wonderful, room was comfortable, location great, breakfast very good, building very attractive.
The maze of corridors
Menu on room service never had anything wa asked for
Easy parking. Close to city. Very quiet. Lovely view over Holyrood Park. Delicious breakfast - lots of choice.
Comfortable stay with one of the best best breakfasts I've had in a hotel, excellent quality!
Location, and helpful staff when we had a problem with the room.
Room very cold on arrival. Staff provided extra duvet for first night and heater on second night. Breakfast was disappointing as cooked food seemed to be pre cooked so better to have cereal, toast and fruit. Really don't think this hotel was good value and wouldn't stay there again.
Good location not far from the city centre right on the main bus route. Plenty of free parking and very friendly and helpful staff, comfy bed and good sized room. Breakfast extensive.
Room a little chilly but it was December/January and that is partly due to the high ceilings in the hotel.
On arrival room was very cold -heating not working we told that it was being fixed however did not work until morning we left - we were given a plug in oil heater but this only worked if key card was in place - hence cold room on return after being out
Good wifi Nice, quiet location Good breakfast
We were given a disabled access bedroom/bathroom which was completely unnecessary and felt very characterless. The bathroom flooded after a shower meaning the overflow of water escaped into the bedroom itself, completely unacceptable. Having paid a good amount of money (for a peak time of year) and booked 3 months before arrival, as a couple we were given two single beds pushed together. In a cold December the radiators were turned up to the maximum but only gave out luke warm heat. Having mentioned all these issues to reception, they seemed to unblock the drainage and placed a broken plug-in heater into our room. They were unable to relocate us. Thoroughly disappointed with the room. If you are paying considerably more around a certain time of year then you should expect a proportionally greater level of service and room, which we certainly did not get. I would ask for a refund for my stay but I don't think they would have given it to us. Dear people reading this, I don't feel this is an unfair review, this is the first time I have ever felt the need to complain about a hotel room in my 26 year life, it may also sound rather dramatic but I feel you should get full disclosure of issues with my stay at this hotel. Overpriced - underdelivered.
The breakfast was good.
It was freezing cold In the room. Radiator only aired and a big room for one heater. Bathroom really cold. We asked for another heater which we got. But that only worked when you were in the room as it needed electric which went of when you went out
Our daughter was studying for a semester at U of Edinburgh and was living at Pollock Hall. The Salisbury is located at Pollock and thus was very convenient. It is a short bus ride or a lovely 20 minute walk to the centre of the city and campus. The Salisbury is a great value for the money; the beds are comfortable, rooms clean and bathrooms updated, staff pleasant and helpful. We stayed here on two separate occasions. You can't go wrong here!
Room was very comfortable and quiet. Good location near transport to central Edinburgh.Breakfast was excellent.
Where else can you get a 3star hotel room with your own turret with views of Arthur's seat? Gorgeous building with character about 1 mile from the Royal Mile. We had 4 separate rooms and all were spotless and well fitted out. Bathroom excellent. Comfy beds, free WiFi and safety deposit box. We will go back.
Nothing. Couldn't fault hotel or service. Do not be put off by the fact it is set on a university campus. This means more space, free parking and set in lovely grounds.
Service was brilliant, breakfast was great and the bed was incredibly comfy! Would recommend this to everyone! Wished we'd booked it for longer! Approx 20-25min walk from the royal mile, just nicely not too central! Xx
Car parking Easy to get into city by bus or walk Bus stop right outside front gate Breakfast great quality and made to order Free quick wifi
Loved the Breakfast in particular but just the place it was great.
it was clean comfortable and cosy, breakfast very good in mason hotel lovely eating area and well presented
tv not working on day 1 but was fixed breakfast in Salisbury not so good not the same standard of presentaion on plate and very small dining room
Right next to swimming venue. Very friendly staff, good value for money with excellent breakfast. Room was comfy with everything we needed. Bathroom was really clean (looked fairly new) and the shower worked exactly as we wanted (not often the case in lower rated accommodation). The whole experience was so enjoyable - I would highly recommend this hotel.
Quiet rooms Close to University area View from my third floor window
Because I was on the top floor, the WiFi coverage was a bit patchy, but otherwise, nothing!
Decent size of room, good facilities in room & building, lovely bathroom with shower; excellent breakfast, great location.
Two single beds pushed together instead of a double; TV wouldn't work (staff did try to fix it)...
I enjoyed the location and is only a half hour walk to City Centre. It is a great location and there is a shop and places to eat in Pollock Halls. We hage been before and will be back and would recommend mend it to anyone.
It was ashame that the breakfast was not in the Hotel itself however the staff were excellent and the breakfast and buffet was amazing.
If you have a child studying at the University of Edinburgh and living at Pollock Halls then this is a wonderful location.Taxis are waiting nearby and the bus line is close, for easy transportation to the center of the city.Rooms, and bathrooms are clean and comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Good value for the money. Breakfast is fine. This hotel was the perfect place for our family to stay while visiting our daughter.
The location was great, a stones throw from Arthur's seat and holyrood palace!
Didn't like having to check in at another location, also room service was not very efficient due to one person being in reception at the other location and couldn't leave the desk!
The proximity to city centre and public transport links were excellent.
staff very helpful and friendly
theres no atmosphere in the hotel because it's isolated
Rooms spacious, clean, lovely bathroom, fast wifi
Double bed was two single mattresses put together so not that comfy, reception don't answer the phone, breakfast small portions, too far from Edinburgh center to walk to the attractions
