Salisbury Green Hotel

When we arrived at Salisbury Green Hotel at 12.20PM, there was no one at the Reception. We had to walk up 3/4 miles to Reception Centre to get our room keys. The hotel looked deserted, but we were allocated rooms at the far end of the corridor -- don't forget there is no lifts to transfer the baggage. If the Receptionist is not available, you do not imagine there is any porter to help transfer the luggage. The TV in my room was not working, some lights inside the room were fused. If the Receptionist is not at 24-hr attendance, I did not expect mechanics to be available. Receptionist at check-out was cold. If this is a training area for University Hotel Management Course, there are a lot of rooms for improvement.

The room was nice.

No permanent reception and as we arrived before 1400 it was difficult to find out what was happening, We were hungry on arrival before 1400 and we were unable to get food as we were not students. We also had a 40min wait for breakfast as there was not enough tables for the amount of residents at hotel.

It was clean. The university campus where the hotel is located was beautiful.

The room was extremely cold. We asked if we could change our room or get an extra blanket. They gave us a portable heater instead which couldn't make the room warm enough. One night we called the on-call remote staff (they don't have 24-hour staff on the site) and told them we are freezing, and the staff told us they turn off the boiler from midnight to 6am every night which is strange. The last day we asked if we can check out one hour late since our bodies were aching from the cold night before and wanted to rest a little bit more, but they told us "it's absolutely impossible" to check out one hour late. The hotel was about 30 minute walk to the city center. You could easily get a 3-star hotel room in a closer location at the same price.

I stayed for one night was great,very comfortable, close to centre. Hotel is in very nice area , you can see the Arthur's seat from your window.

Very interesting building, convenient to city centre tourist attractions and shops. Wonderful variety of food for breakfast!

Interior decoration in entrance hall seemed below standard, some touching up of paintwork/ varnishing would work wonders.

The location was perfect as we were visiting our daughter at Pollock Halls. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was wonderful, fantastic quality ingredients.

Lighting in the bedroom was modern but over-bright and unsubtle, especially over the bed.

The hotel outside and inside beautiful, the hotel room very clean and modern and the breakfast was excellent (full scotish br., and continental br.)

The reception could be more visible or the main door should be open, coz check-in in the hotel wasn`t very easy.

Well presented hotel. Ideal for the city, just 20 min interesting walk to the old town. Friendly staff. Hotel full of character. Good value for money.

With two people staying in a room perhaps it would be good practise and convenient for each person to have a key card and not just one. A lounge would have been nice.

You were near city centre without any of the traffic noise as set in its grounds away from busy roads

Breakfast service could have been better
