No parking on site
It's a hostel, in poor condition NEEDS A "MAJOR" revamp but sadly it will struggle on till it falls down, which will not be long
The Salisbury provided all my needs for an overnight stay and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Being on the Leas, the hotel is perfect for a pleasant short walk into town along the cliff, overlooking the sea.
Location, price, cleanliness, spacious rooms
the roof was leaking rainwater all night, with a constant drip onto the spare bed keeping us awake. Had I known it would last all night I'd have gone down and tried to find someone.
This hotels only saving grace was the sheets had been washed/were clean
No offer to help with baggage Very smoky smell in every area of hotel, especially the bar area. All furniture grubby, old, some torn in public areas. Stair rails sticky Room was worn. Bath had hairs left on side, no hot water in sink, sink cracked. Toilet seat bleach wet. Divan bases old and dirty. Room 2 doors away, guest was obviously long term as had cat with cat litter tray in door (door was kept open) The whole hotel smelled of overcooked veg and cigarettes. Only reason we remained was it was late for my young children and I did not know anywhere in the area. We did not have breakfast as we were concerned about the hygiene in kitchen.
Sea view, ensuite, coffee,price
Rude manager, fried bread, sausage, cold hotel in general, dripping water everywhere
good position, in front of the sea
very dirty room
Clean and the staff were helpful. It was convenient for the shops and the railway station.
The lift was out of order both days, and I was on the 4th floor, so there was a lot of walking.
was clean Location Value for money
The view from my room was lovely. The location very good for what I needed.
To start with altho they offer a pay now option though booking.com website they do not actually take payment until the day you book in. The sink in my room wasn't even in the bathroom yet there was plenty of space in there. I know it's a budget hotel but there are certain things that should be standard clean warm place to sleep. The sheets in my room were dirty the covers were itchy blankets and it was cold I thought in this day in age a quilt would come as standard. The deco was very scruffy and in functional.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast service effeicent.
Room itself although a good size, was in need of updating. In the bathroom, I noticed some cheap repairs that did not work very well, it needs either a new bathroom or proper repair jobs. The shower head did not fit in the holder properly, we had to hold the shower whilst showering ourselves! Toilet roll holder badly fitted to wall, only to be poorly repaired by poly filler but was very loose! Beds too soft, I couldn't share the double bed with my partner as was too soft so I moved to the available single bed as my baby was in the cot anyway. The cot itself was a bit wobbly I was bit worried about it falling apart! The only high chair in the restaurant needs replacing, it had no straps and not safe at all, needs at least 2 there as there were 2 babies who needed it!
the price, the location, used the hotel purely for somewhere to sleep for the night before getting on the channel tunnel
the damp smell in the room, the door to the room looked like it has been smashed in a few times, noise from other rooms (i know you cant blame the hotel for this)
The location of this hotel is ideal. The seaview is lovely and it is a quiet area.
Decor of hotel and room need updating or complete refurbishment. The bed/mattress was poor, being very uncomfortable. We are not a heavy couple but constantly rolled to the middle of the bed and the cover was uncomfortably heavy, but needed or you got cold during the night. Also disappointed with breakfast as l am coeliac and added this in my booking but restaurant staff were totally unaware of the condition.
The place is very tired and needs a complete overall.
no comfortable chairs
Had a bar that's it
Smelt like an old peoples home, not clean, found pair of pyjamas in drawers, no dead lock on door, fight in hotel in morning, police called
The sea view & leaving at 7.30 am arriving home, showering & trying to forget that we ever stayed in this awful place.
Our room had a strange sweaty odour we think it was either the carpet or the bedding. Room was dirty, dusty & tatty looking. Corridors at night were noisy, we left without having breakfast we really could not face it after sitting up all night scratching
One of a number of hotels on the road which have seen better days but which are fine for a stopover before a Channel crossing. This was better than most. Good double bed, tea and coffee and, though I left before breakfast, they even offered a continental breakfast.
At this price you don't expect Sky TV and a gym. No complaints.
Close to channel tunnel
Night porter was fast asleep when we tried to check out. We had to wake her ourselves with a shake. Pillows were hard and hotel smelt old.
The one staff member we met was very friendly and helpful. Great location.
This hotel could be lovely, but it needs money spending on it to update it.
The staff are extremely accommodating. Better than any 5 star hotel have stayed. The view is fantastic- this makes the trip worthwhile.
No internet connection in rooms. This was a real pit stop for me. Hotel guests were a bit rude. The hotel has real potential to be something special, its all in the detail. Cleanliness could be better.
It did what it said on the tin.
Breakfast disappointment. Booked it assuming that it would be available from 7. On checking in was told 8. Didn't quibble as hadn't cost much but was miffed. When leaving next morning could smell breakfast and hear people eating it. Too late to join them. Very miffed.
The staff are very friendly the place does need a bit updating but I can't complain Im definitely coming back again next year
It is a cheap cost shelter from the elements, where you can sleep & shower & have a warm cuppa + a warm fair breakfast...
I know it is the cheapest, but you don't ever serve a JUG of SOUR MILK for breakfast!!!
