Close to channel tunnel
Night porter was fast asleep when we tried to check out. We had to wake her ourselves with a shake. Pillows were hard and hotel smelt old.
The one staff member we met was very friendly and helpful. Great location.
This hotel could be lovely, but it needs money spending on it to update it.
The staff are extremely accommodating. Better than any 5 star hotel have stayed. The view is fantastic- this makes the trip worthwhile.
No internet connection in rooms. This was a real pit stop for me. Hotel guests were a bit rude. The hotel has real potential to be something special, its all in the detail. Cleanliness could be better.
It did what it said on the tin.
Breakfast disappointment. Booked it assuming that it would be available from 7. On checking in was told 8. Didn't quibble as hadn't cost much but was miffed. When leaving next morning could smell breakfast and hear people eating it. Too late to join them. Very miffed.
The staff are very friendly the place does need a bit updating but I can't complain Im definitely coming back again next year
It is a cheap cost shelter from the elements, where you can sleep & shower & have a warm cuppa + a warm fair breakfast...
I know it is the cheapest, but you don't ever serve a JUG of SOUR MILK for breakfast!!!
Location, being near the sea, price... Could be one of the best in Folkestone with money spent on it
Mattress, pink and red decor, hot room
Dirty rooms, milk was sauer at breakfast, loose tiles in the bathroom.....
Location was great, close to the beaches and main street of the town. Staff were friendly and accommodating especially after arriving late in the night 1:30am.
The room was very basic, bathroom a bit worn and torn, the shower sprayed in pretty much every direction except where it was needed. No soundproofing in the windows so be prepared to be awakened at 5:30am to the screeching of seagulls!!. No Wifi, and only one set of sockets in the room.
Unclean, poor equipment out of ages, smell of dust. Smell of moisture in the breakfast room. Very poor furniture ad dirty chairs, armchairs and floor carpet.
Not a THING,only location was ok.
Everything.Grubby,Tatty, would not consider walking on the carpets in bare feet even.I Can only think anything positive was written by the owners.Should have looked at rooms before handing over the money. This so called hotel should not be on your books!! DISGUSTING.Please put this in your reviews
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone other than a student ! I'm not sure how it achieved 2 stars and really needs closing to upgrade quite urgently. Had we arrived children I would be devastated . We stayed only as we arrived late.
The whole experience was shocking , the room was not clean, the bulbs were out so no lights! We changed rooms again grubby and tatty. Lots if students staying and sadly I believe residents who have no full time address . Shocking hotel of the highest order!
Good location for overnight stay, close to euro tunnel
The hotel is falling apart
Polly (well we called her that) tried really hard to sort out everyones little problems with lighting, door locks etc. All the staff gave impression of really trying to cope in a difficult building though did not seem to have hospitality training.
Crumbling appearance, non matching style of decor. Needs serious renovation, problems with lighting, plumbing and fixings.
The rooms are dirty, noisy and all furniture very uncomfortable it was hard trying to sleep and get some rest on the beds, the smell comming Out the bathroom was awfull since the first minute we entered the room. The windows can not be open to allow some fresh air entering the room
A quality Nights Sleep EVERY night of my 9 night sleep
Customers who leave negative feedback! feedback should be based on the price you paid
toilet was not clean
Staff very friendly and courteous. Breakfast excellent and freshly cooked.
Chips from previous room occupants not cleaned up, facilities in room poor. Hotel fairly run down and in need of an overhaul.
Easy to get to and safe parking for a motorbike.
It's a bit worn out in places.
I had no tv working and the women behind bar said it was fixed later but it wasn't. Its shabby old it needs money to be spent i only stayed one night that was more than enough. Did not stay for breakfast! Beer was horrible and expensive.
Close to the beach. Staff helpful.
Hotel is dated and needs a revamp. Bad was very uncomfortable.
Friendly staff sea views
Couldn't open the windows. A bit smelly in the hotel
The staff were friendly and the location is perfect for a short stay facing the sea. The breakfast, included in the very modest price, was good. There is a bar in the hotel, and children are welcome there.
Our room smelled extremely musty, so much so that we had to wash our clothes when we got home. The bathroom was badly repaired and painted, and the extractor fan did not work. The bedclothes were clean, but the beds themselves were very stained and you could feel the springs in your back. I hate to be negative, and the staff did their best, but the place badly needs tidying and decorating.
It was close to the Leas- that was nice. The staff were very friendly. That's about where the niceness ended though.
We got a "water view" for £10 per night more. We could see the channel through 1/2 of 1 window...out of 3. The shower sprayed the whole bathroom down until it was soaking wet when we tried to use it and the tub wouldn't drain properly. Definitely would not go back or recommend this hotel at these prices.
Breakfast was hot and made to order. Location is very nice on the water, convenient to walk to the Town Center.
Our biggest complaint is one of the rooms had bed bugs! The couple was covered with bites after their second night. We checked out and told the front desk our complaint. They said sorry but didn't offer to make it right with a refund or any other compensation. Just too run down, chairs are stained, tables chipped, water marks, duct tape on the lift buttons, rock hard pillows.
