This centrally located hotel is close to all amenities and has its own parking lot. It is a popular choice for business trips and vacations, with its warm welcome and unrivaled location close to Vivary Park. The Salisbury House Hotel is a family-owned, independent hotel, situated with an excellent location in the center of town. Built in the 1850s, the delightful Victorian house boasts many Gothic features and stained glass windows. The hotel has recently been totally refurbished but still retains many original features. All rooms have private bathrooms with luxury bathrooms. Families are welcome. The hotel is well placed for getting to the cricket ground, Musgrove Park hospital and the county court. Interesting building. Ample carparking. Comfortable ensuite room. Tea/coffee making facilities. Convenient for town. Lovely breakfast -not too big! Helpful, polite staff who were not too 'ott'.

We Where late and the hospitilty when we arrived was good, after such a long drive The room was cosy and clean and great shower. Slept well and refreshed in the morning, came down for breakfast and we had a warm welcome, good food. Thankyou..

The reception prior to 1400 was welcomed due to the weather outside (raining). The breakfast was excellent and remains so (stayed previously). Close to the Town Centre. Car parking space. I have recommended Salisbury House Hotel to others many times. Bath towels a little on the small side although spotlessly clean and white. Would like to have been asked whether I would have liked a bath or shower or both when booking. Not sure if that remarks fits as I am not aware of the differences in the rooms.

Location and ease of parking. On arrival at hotel I enquired about restaurant times for evening meals. Was advised that food was not available as I had not pre booked a meal. No mention of having to do this on their web site. Had to walk into town on a very wet, cold evening to find a restaurant. Very disappointing.

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in a clean and comfortable hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is close to the centre of Taunton with it's shops and plenty of places to eat. Very enjoyable!

I have used this hotel on several occasions, because of it's location in the centre of the town. It also has several very generous-sized rooms and the guest lounge is very comfortable. The dining room is pleasant and the food good.

My room was lovely, spacious, comfortable, clean and with a pleasing decor. The hotel is small but smart, and just five minutes walk from the centre of Taunton. Breakfasts are freshly cooked to order (I detest the buffets offered by the chains) and served at the table. I would definitely stay here again. I was a bit concerned that the hotel were offering the car park to non residents for a daily fee. No problem with this in principle but when I arrived I got the very last spaqce so was a bit concerned that as I was using my car each day I might not be able to find a spot next time. In fact I didn't have a problem but would have felt better if the management reserved places for residents (I asked and they didn't). The hotel is on a main road and it would be difficult to find parking elsewhere.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. The building is architectally interesting as it was once part of the neighbouring church. Traffic noise may be an issue to some, as the hotel is close to a busy road, although we found it to be only a minor inconvenience.

Ideally situated for access to Town Centre. Staff very warm, friendly and accommodating. Free WiFi a pleasant bonus as many of the larger hotels charge for this. Room and bathroom scrupulously clean. The only niggle I have is that the bedding was blanket and flat sheet in the twin room where I stayed and my niece complained of being cold during the night. This is the one area I feel needs to be brought into the 21st century. There was also no shelf in bathroom to rest toiletries on. All in all though, a very pleasant stay. See above (bedding and nowhere/ not much space in either bathroom, or indeed rest of the room to rest cosmetics and/or toiletries for two females).
