Atmosphere, décor, comfort
Location, good facilities for price paid, food.
Location slightly remote, access is down narrow lanes, quality of bar/restaurant staff poor - greater experience required.
Great location with excellent grounds and some really interesting history. Rooms, though in a rather student-like accommodation block, were well equipped.
The student-like accommodation block, plus the breakfast was very uninspiring.
The character and history of the building. The accommodation was good as the buildings that house the rooms have recently been refurbished and were very comfortable.
The estate is not close to any other restaurants or bars in walking distance. The management may regret not using splasbacks or tiling in the bathrooms as you do get a lot of water splashes from the sink onto the walls which in time will start to stain and proberbly ruin the paintwork.
Beautiful grounds, interesting (museum, theatre), food good, staff good. Food was slow to arrive but we were offered a complimentary drink to compensate which was a nice touch.
Initially dismayed by exterior appearance of rooming blocks which looked like university halls of residence. Distance from restaurant would be a problem in winter. Windows did not appear to be double glazed and there was aircraft noise.

sound proofing of accommodation not great.
The main house and the grounds.
Being under the flight path to Gatwick.
I thought the venue, food and all staff were excellent. Beautiful peaceful setting. The reception staff were great and very informative.
I was disappointed with the position of the rooms and found it very noisy when people were coming in/out of the accommodation.
Our stay with the hotel was lovely.
Walking around the estate, seeing rabbits and deer; the meals in the dining room and on the terrace.
The room was stuffy in the warm weather and the fan was so small it made no difference - a larger fan appeared just after the weather cooled.
The location, green surrounding in a very nice countryside views. Breakfast was OK. staff was cooperative and very friendly.
Room was too small. the TV was really small, the size of a small computer screen. the room on the 1st floor: we could hear the footsteps of the visitors in the upper floor, and we changed room to the 2nd floor.
location (good overnight before going to Gatwick and dropping off the car), peaceful, breakfast, helpful staff
The excellent accommodation The views The museum The science theatre The breakfast
Gaby, the receptionist, was a gracious and informative host. She went the extra mile in making my stay easy and comfortable. Great breakfast and my bed made sleeping deep and refreshing.
Student-like accommodation blocks, but once inside the room was comfortable with all I needed.
TV is way to small and would not tilt to view screen properly even lying down as I am working in Tonbridge on contract I stay in hotels very often and that puts me off staying here again if the TV was sorted out I would stay there
the grounds are simply stunning, with a modern comfortable bedroom to sleep in which is clean and tidy.
Everything, the food and location
Beautiful surroundings. Lovely clean rooms. No complaints at all.
Air conditioning or a fan would have been nice.
Lovely setting and even though the room was away from the main building everything was excellent. Having travelled around the country a lot this location was about the best value for money to date. Will go back again
Cannot think of anything that I did not like.
The staff; the rooms; the setting; the atmosphere. Food good though choice a little limited if dining in for a number of evenings.
People standing smoking & chatting outside bedroom window late at night.
Excellent in most respects - fantastic location, spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms, having drinks on the terrace in the evening sun, good food and friendly staff.
Blinds in room left in too much light so sleep was disturbed by external light and early sun. Hot water see,ed to run out early so morning shower was luke warm to tepid. However, these were outweighed vastly by the positives - an excellent place to stay.
I Loved everything about the hotel from the amazing landscape to the amazing staff that were working there. They are all very kind and aim to provide the best customer service. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt.
Not a single thing.
What a star Gaby is, gave me perfect info and very pleasant
The Welcome from receptionist Gabby, was what my brother and I enjoyed after a hard days golf. The late "check in" was no prob and the bar staff very friendly. Rooms very clean and a super comfy bed. Breakfast superb! Chris,Belgium.
Bar closed at 23hrs. No big deal really.
