Salterns Harbourside Hotel  

Nothing significant on a short ovrnight stay, breakfast was included and freshly cooked.

Rooms were very small (and overpriced but so are all the hotels in Poole)and the location is remote surounded by residential property therefore no other locl amenities and almost confined to the hotel bar and restaurant. Menu uninspiring and when served starts and main courses at the same time staff were surprised and could not understand why 2 people had ordered 4 choices, 2 from the staters menu and 2 mains 'as people often have the states as mains.' Inattentive staff on reception at check out totally disinterested. Misled about the location, overpriced

We enjoyed the local beaches nearby.Sandbanks,Studland and Swanage.We liked going across by ferry to Brownsea Island and seeing all the wildlife there.We like to relax when we can in comfortable surroundings, enjoy the scenery,with good food and drink.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful - especially the receptionist on Fri evening.

staff.. even the lady serving food in the morning was extremely kind and nice. Location is between Poole and Bournemouth so I would recommend this hotel to those who want to relax apart from busy environment. I thought it was a bit expensive but considering the other hotels (more expensive and worse generally) this hotel seems to be nice choice. I brought my cycle as this was my cycling trip and it was fairly safe place to bring in.

This is our third Christmas at Salterns and as before we enjoyed our stay very much. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good, especially the Christmas lunch. We would certainly return.

As last year we have only one complaint and that is the fact that the Televisions are very old with only 4 channels available. In 2011 we would expect at least the choices that Freeview offers coupled with flatscreen tv'S. We are an older couple who would have appreciated more choice than just channels 1,2,3 & 4.

After frequent visits to Salterns over the last three years I am unable to find fault in any way-a rare achievement! Politeness, efficiency, attention to detail, comfort, quality, value for money are not aspired to; they are consistently achieved throughout the year to makea visit this hotel a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable experience.

The location is fantastic with views across Poole Harbour. The room was enormous with excellent views. Could have easily got another Double bed in without it being cramped.

Reception staff were good but the restaurant service was a bit off hand. Food was expensive for want it was.

Dated needs room upgraded. Lighting in corridor bright left on shining under door of our from all night{ maybe good to fit automatic lighting will also save hotel money.

We had a fabulous stay, very relaxing. It was a suprise for my wifes 60th birthday and she really enjoyed it. We decided to stay another night as the weather was great for November and the staff were more then happy to find us another room as the one we were in was going to be taken, so they put us up in one of the top rooms with fabulous views. Also food was lovely, both in, the Itailian and bar resturants. Thank you all very much.

Super quiet location. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely view, good position for walking both to Sandbanks and Poole Harbour.Good food, reasoably priced. Dog friendly. Very enjoyable relaxing stay.

Breakfast freshly cooked, but fresh fruit not replaced when eaten. Radiators needed to be more efficient
