It was nice and modern and if over looking the harbour it had a great view. All staff were friendly and willing to help if needed. Parking could be better, but had an alterative.

Great location ! Excellent staff, from the moment you pull up in your car they are there to help park your car and carry your cases. Decor is brilliant - no set theme, just loads of artistic content. Nice walks along mariner - very clean Issacs bar is lively and poular and located next door Menu in hotel is limited but excellent. They use local produce wherever possible. My only negative comment would be that they take your car keys and will move your car to another car park without informing you. Next time I stay I wil linsist on keeping my keys once the car is parked !

I loved the location just opposite the Marina. The waterfront is very nice looking with an interesting history. The hotel is comfortable and has some lovely design features and art throughout.

Wonderful setting on Waterfront. Excellent, comfortable and immaculately clean room and superb decor throughout Hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Everything you would want for a relaxing weekend break. Car park is a little small for the number of guests, and this might be irksome if you intend to use your vehicle regularly during your stay. There was a little ambient noise from nearby establishments, as mentioned by other reviewers, although it was not intrusive.

The hotel is unique yet the service was so personal. We were made to feel so special. The signing to actually get to the car park was poor and a satnav didnt help. This was a little frustrating as it took us nearly 5 attempts to park and check in.. Well worth it though

We received a friendly welcome on arrival. Great view from room overlooking the marina. Although located on the quay front, it isn't a long walk into the town centre. Made a nice change to have 'real' bread at breakfast instead of the usual sliced used for toast. We opted for the 'full Suffolk' and smoked salmon for breakfast - apart from the burnt bagel it was very good. The car park is totally inadequate for the hotel - we ended up having to park in front of the bins as there were no spaces left when we arrived and cars had already been blocked in. No air conditioning in rooms, so had to leave the doors to the balcony open as the room got very hot & stuffy. Unfortunately the occupants of the next room kept going out on their balony for a smoke, so we had to keep closing the doors to stop the smell coming into the room.

Lovely welcome at Reception. All staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic with a balcony overlooking the harbour. Excellent facilities , including both bath and shower, bath robes and good quality accessories like shampoo and conditioner and a useful kit for sewing, shoe cleaning, showering etc. Also great to have real coffee and a cafetiere provided.Breakfast was served efficiently with newspapers available too.Food was freshly cooked and nicely presented.. A great overnight stay. Would recommend to friends and would stay again if in the area.Excellent value for money..

I am a huge Ipswich Town supporter and live in Derbyshire. My wife and I came for a weekend break to watch the match and to take in some of Ipswich Town. Have to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend here. The Salthouse is a lovely place to stay. Lovely and clean and very upmarket. The food is wonderful and worth every penny. The veiw from our room overlooked the beautiful Harbour. Definately coming back here!!!! The only downside was that the price of the drinks in the hotel were very expensive.

The bedroom and bathroom were very nice, comfortable clean and more than satisfactory. The breakfast staff were pleasant and the food at breakfast of a high standard. Parking was not a problem and the parking boys were very polite and helpful. When we booked in on the Friday evening nobody on reception asked if we required dinner for our stay. When we asked on the Saturday if we could dine the staff basically were very rude and laughed in our face. They told us how full they were and suggested nandos or pizza express near by. This was not satisfactory and we got a taxi and went up town. At no time did anyone say the restaurant was full or attempted to find or suggest a suitable alternative. This we feel was very poor service.

Well, this hotel was assessed as 10 / 10 or just slightly less. Still very high.Location very good - nice view. Very good food indeed!!! Well done, though price ... according to those 10 / 10 .... Honestly saying - I expected more. The price offered was discounted so it was acceptable for the purpose of checking - simple curiosity. It was disappointing that there was no sufficient extract fan in bathroom. Size of the room described as 35 m square .... Well I t was at most 16 m square so I really do not know if I was cheated by Hotel? If so - I still have booking details - it will only show dishonest of booking system. That's it.

The most friendly and accommodating of staff. The receptionist organised a meal booking at a time to suit us and room service was prompt and generous. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The dinner and breakfast menus were imaginative. The hotel was quirky and fresh in its design features. We liked the Emma Bridgewater mugs in the bedrooms. At breakfast our tea tasted chlorinated. It was changed immediately for us we suspected when teapots are washed some residual water stays inside the upturned teapot?

The bathroom was super and the shower the best ever, along with the toiletries and tea tray contents (more caffeinated coffee please, not decaf!) Our room was comfortable and overlooked the marina.Food was very good, best porridge ever and ham and very good poached eggs. Dinner excellent. The only missing part was some info in the room about facilities, breakfast and dinner times, maybe menus too. It wa Maritime weekend and I felt there should have been a programme in each room.

The hotel staff were first class. They were very concerned that my wife had limited mobility and moved us, without our requesting it, to a more "walking stick friendly" room. The restaurant does serve good food, but appears always full in the evenings. The view of the marina from the bedroom cannot be faulted.

The staff was excellent, very friendly, polite and efficient and the location was very convenient. Our room was a basic room and was well equipped and very functional-excellent bathroom, though the bed was rather firm.
