Salthouse Harbour Hotel  

Great location ! Excellent staff, from the moment you pull up in your car they are there to help park your car and carry your cases. Decor is brilliant - no set theme, just loads of artistic content. Nice walks along mariner - very clean Issacs bar is lively and poular and located next door Menu in hotel is limited but excellent. They use local produce wherever possible.

My only negative comment would be that they take your car keys and will move your car to another car park without informing you. Next time I stay I wil linsist on keeping my keys once the car is parked !

The style of the hotel with it's quirky art and decor. The knowledgeable staff who you could converse with; their friendlyness seemed genuine and caring. A fantastic restaurant with glorious, sumptious food. This with the location overlooking the harbour created the relaxed, friendly, luxurious ambiance that stole our hearts.

We both very much liked the furnishings, design and lovely little knick knacks which gave us lots to talk about. All staff were very kind and friendly especially Rachel (waitress) who was really helpful and told us of places to visit. We would recommend this hotel.

The Views.

We were keen to stay at the Salthouse after enjoying a previous stay immensely last year. Unfortunately we were very disappointed this time round. The shower in our room was not clean; the pubic hair in the shower tray was vile. Despite requests to clean it was still there when we left, maybe waiting for the next guests to clean up. We were given a new room but had to change back to the dirty shower room at 1:00am due to being unable to sleep from the noise from above. We were given a 40% refund but our stay was completely ruined. All in all a thoroughly uncomfortable stay.

The decor was great and the food. Lovely. I think the attentiveness of the staff made it. I would have liked the option of complimentary green team or fruit tea in the room though as the only tiny grumble.

Lovely location right on the harbour with wonderful views of the yachts in the marina and the Orwell Bridge in the distance. This hotel has successfully combined features of an old industrial building with a very modern interior - stunning.

There could have been more selection of cereals at breakfast, but food excellent.

From start to finish, we had a wonderful stay, which is what I exspected for the price. Would recommend.

Excellent position on Waterfront. Free parking. Beautiful bedrooms. Superb included breakfasts + very good restaurant for evening meals.

Very narrow bath, low shower and lack of grab-rail while showering in such a narrow space.

Fixtures and fittings were well designed and comfortable. Room was a good size. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Overall a really enjoyable stay and great value for money.

Breakfast could have had the option to have baked beans with the full english. Soundproofing in the room was not great so you could hear people in the corridor.

Staff were friendly & helpful. Rooms were large, airy and clean.

The car park was a bit small relative to the size of hotel and I did have to find on street parking on some evenings.
